  • On today's Monster Hobbies Model Car Garage, we will be looking at the 1961 Jaguar XK-E by Revell Germany. This is a model car unboxing video we hope you will enjoy.
Regarded by many as "The Most Beautiful Car" ever made, the Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) has been an icon ever since. Introduced in 1961, it was based on the LeMans winning D-type race car. In addition to it's great looks, it had advanced features such as disk brakes, rack and pinion steering and independent suspension. The Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) made between 1961 and 1975 continues to rank in most readership poles. It's 3.8 liter engine had 269 hp and gave it a top speed of 150 mph with 0 to 60 in less than 7 seconds. The 3.8 liter cars are referred to as Series 1 cars and of these, only 7828 ever were built.
The Revell Germany Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) plastic model kit features all new tooling and consists of 142 parts molded in red, light grey, clear and chrome plated plastic. Waterslide decals, and rubber tires completes the package.
Features include a detailed 3.8 liter 6 cylinder engine and tubular sub frame, your choice of right or left hand drive positions which include two steering columns and dashboards, poseable front wheels and a chrome windshield frame. Full color instruction sheets is an added bonus. This kit measures a length of 7.36".
The Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) plastic model kit by Revell Germany has an engine consisting of a left and right hand engine block with transmission attached, separate oil pan, overhead cams, front engine cover, water pump, distributor, fan belt, pulleys, generator, exhaust manifold, tri-carbs, lower intake manifold, air cleaner housing, fuel pump, 3-piece radiator and fan shroud, and radiator expansion tank.
The chassis of the Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) plastic model kit includes a full race suspension including independent rear axle, rack and pinion steering, dual paired rear shocks, and a tube frame similar to the 1950's Ferrari's and an opening clam-shell hood. The stone shield of the radiator includes a drilled out hole pattern.
The interior features left or right hand instrument panels, center console, bucket seats that look like real leather, right and left door panels with separate window cranks and door latches, hand brake, and luggage compartment. Dashboard decals include gauges in either imperial or metric measurements (MPH or KPH) and a ton of chrome piping.
If you are looking for a highly detailed plastic model car kit, look no further than the Revell 1961 Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) plastic model kit.
