UPS wanted to charge me $58. FedEx wants $80 to ship it just within Canada Wanted to ship a package up in the northern territories in BC the other day which at Canada Post it would cost me $34 and UPS wanted over $200 for it which is just absolutely ridiculous. I moved my entire side business off Canada Post. Will never do business with them again. They lost a lot of business in 2018 from that strike and will lose more again.
How to time they deliver the mail to the wrong houses. Should they get a fair wage, yes? Are a lot of the mobide paid most definitely. You send a letter from the same town 2. The same town it shouldn't only take 3 days. Sometimes, it takes a week. For me, I would say my neighbors. Get my mail at least 30 times a year. Reading seems to be a problem with some of these people. Do I think we still need the postal service most effortley? But they need to do a lot of retraining all the way around. Seems like we have to pay more for very sometimes bad service. Sometimes, I wonder why we need the Post Office technology today. Gets rid of most of these people, if not 3/4 of them. One day, the Post Office will be delivering only packages. Everything else can be done online.
If Canada post wants to hit these projections for there offices to make sure they get cushy bonuses. The only way they get that. Is by treating employees with respect. They aren’t delivering mail or packages. We are , we have a union for a reason for employee rights

Yep, unskilled labor that anyone can do and they are whining for more pay. They get better benefits than similar jobs as well. No sympathy for these lazy losers.
why are those picketers using burn barrels? Don't they care about the environment? Carbon climate emergency here! Why doesn't the union have to do their part?
I have not noticed one thing that effects my life since the strike started. Amazon still delivers packages and I don't have to throw all the flyers from the mail box to the blue bin.
Amazon treats their drivers a step above slaves. They've even starting striking in some areas despite not being unionized. I will never support that kind of abuse to save a few dollars.
Won't even take letters to Santa thats Low😢
Santa letters are done by volunteer basis.
The employees write those letters from Santa for free.
But they're not accepting them and how can the children receive them if the mail stopped
@isay207 parents gotta do it. Who cares anyway?
I signed up for a year of e-cards for $40. Will be saving myself about $500./yr between cards & postage & don't have to wait up to a year to have a card delivered. Hopefully others will follow suit in the card department. Small businesses should hire gig workers for delivering packages locally or to nearby towns.
My passport is stuck somewhere and untraceable. This is fckd up I can’t go see my family in the uk because of this politics.
There is a workaround available, because many are in the same boat with passports stuck in the system. Check online, because I'm pretty sure you _can_ see your family in the UK.
I’m sorry that’s so brutal
The operation for courier as Canada Post ( government delivery organization ), basically involve 3 parts , the superior is Civic/customer , then the lower parties,Company and Worker union .
If the strike as 2018 , rotation strike , the civic / customer affection were small , so we didn’t care the strike .
But the strike in this time , these two lower parties compete for own
gain profit to hurt and sacrifice the superior part, civic/customer .
So we must fire the Canada Post Company and worker union .
All customers and civics who have parcels are processing in the facility of Canada post make “class action” to lawsuit Canada Post for missing delivery promise
We will find other ways to get our letters and packages delivered. And when these greedy whiners finally get back to work we will not go back to Canada Post. The inevitable: layoffs.
They're holding my coffee pot hostage
Government needs to step in and stop this nonsense
Give them what they want and get them back on the road
They always choose Christmas and New Year's Day to strike.....What a joke!
They lose $3 billion a year, most companies would go bankrupt, and these clowns want a %25 raise 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
legislation stipulating only canada post can deliver mail is to prevent a non-government controlled carrier disrupting regular service.
what irony this is.
Union members are looking for NDP support. Where is Waldo Singh? Docks, trains, postal workers.
Imagine being paid 110k a year to be a forklift driver at the Eglinton facility? I saw my buddy's T4. It blew be away.
Best to hire new people who will get the job done.
What a great country.
I find Justinflation and poverty is especially bad in areas that voted for Trudeau 3 times. How ironic is that?
switched all business over to Purolator while Canada Post is on strike. Good luck next year. Just don’t ask for tax payers money.
Canada post owns purolator.
LOLOLOL Canada Post owns purolator!!!!!
@@MrTBeatRocky 91%. But Purolator is still at work so ?? contractors? non-unionize employees? gig workers?

canada post all ready runs at a HUGE deficit. How much more can they be paid? 🤔
Canada Post is a Canadian service to all of Canada. It is not supposed to be a profitable entity. Our tax dollars are for them, not CBC bonusses. Clay
These folks shouldn't be left behind even though the need for the postal service has declined! Some of them will be happy for a package or to be transferred to other government agencies
@@tracyclaystowell6431wrong. Wrong. Wrong. They need to be profitable, I mean, if it’s a service then it should be like healthcare. The solution is 2-3 day delivery days and fire them, we have high unemployment thanks to Trudeau, we can find people to do this unskilled work.
lock them out until May. they will come back humble.
Pay the damn workers, Canada post delivers to unprofitable rural communities, if this ends in privatisation Canadians lose
Time to downsize also delivery of mail should be every 2 or 3 days instead of everyday
Bunch of entitled babies. They are welcome to come and work with me in the oil sector for a week just to see how good they actually have it earning that Government paycheck.

Sooo, there are 6 million things going thru less this year than last year which means less work and they want more money? Ha
What's this extra service that Canada Post delivers compared to other carriers??
I didn't know it was a service to deliver my package to a different street. Learn something new every day!!
Canada Post delivers to the whole country. They are usually the final mile deliverer for all of the competition. Much of the time if you send something rural you will pay 2 or three times more for the competition and then they go and drop it off at Canada Post for delivery. Over half of Canada is a money losing delivery. Thats why only Canada Post delivers there. Privatize and over half the country is screwed. Consider yourself edumacted now.
@camd5348 how does that make my package go to a different address
30+ minute wait times in lineups and incompetent employees are just some of their extra services.
Totally agree they need to remember her serving the public. I am all for Fehr of ages. We all need that especially in the transport industry. We need way better wages, but we have no way of actually protesting because we’re not unionized. I’m a semi truck driver and we don’t get paid enough to deliver these goods And it’s been like that for years however, I also do agree that these other companies need to get some better rates specially with UPS and FedEx try to ship a Calendar through them yesterday. UPS wanted to charge me $58. FedEx wants $80 to ship it just within Canada Wanted to ship a package up in the northern territories in BC the other day which at Canada Post it would cost me $34 and UPS wanted over $200 for it which is just absolutely ridiculous. I’m not shipping anything like that for that kind of price
Especially considering me being a small photographer business there is no way I can ship a calendar for $58
Economic Sabotage!..canpost should be abolished !
Meh, drone delivery will have their jobs soon enough anyhow.
Cut delivery 5 day to 3 days a week, not much people use canada post now, just waste taxpayers, (garbage pick up only 1 day a week) no one send mail to you everyday
Its not taxpayer funded. lol
@Nguyen-d3f Once a week service would be good enough for most people, maybe even less.
Come work with us ! You won’t be thinking like that too long 😂
@@camd5348 You do realise that Canada Post is a Crown Corp. do you not?
Everything else can be done online.
why not get some contractors to help during this time...
Union asking too little and reasonable demand.
John Hamilton is an absolute joke. It’s about your employees. Make a fair contract for them and let’s move thing along
24% Increase over 4 years? 17 days paid time off every year for Rest/Medical?
If Canada post wants to hit these projections for there offices to make sure they get cushy bonuses. The only way they get that. Is by treating employees with respect. They aren’t delivering mail or packages. We are , we have a union for a reason for employee rights
@@jeremyjones9859 Im also in a Union but not Canada Post. I think what your asking for is way over the top. Your also hurting a lot of small businesses by doing a complete shut down rather than a rotating strike. My Union settled for 11 % over 4 years last year and was not asking anything near what your union is asking for.
Profit over people. The rich get richer and the poor and middle class get the shaft.
Walking is not a skilled trade it should be a part time only like Uber end this government service !!!!
@JoachimwGermain-co4zw To be fair, many CPC employees only work part-time, (6hrs/day) but are paid for 7.5hrs/day. Source: my sister & niece. They drive to the community mailboxes though. Grade 12 education & no other skills for both of them.

Nobody wins in a strike!
Not if the government goes straight to arbitration, then the employer wins
@gloriaf2341 CPC Union has never figured that out. They don't learn from previous strikes. They appear not to be very smart cookies.
two thirds (2/3) of Canada Post employees make "$30" an hour with full medical/dental, sick days, and paid holidays. Management lost $4 billion from 2018 - 2023 while earning millions in salaries. GET BACK TO WORK OVERPAID FLYER DELIVERY PERSONNEL!!

Canada post should be privatized it will run better than the government running it and I bet cheaper 😂
But will it be cheaper for the people and businesses that use it, if Canada Post gets privatized? I have my doubts.
Just like Healthcare is cheaper to privatize?
Instead of paying a nurse $90 an hour, Ontario is privatized that and pays over $300 an hour. It's not done better and it's not done cheaper.
When you privatize you need to make profit.... That's the only goal is to make profit so it can't be cheaper
@@lizliz4186lol stop spreading lies.
No kidding
How would it be cheaper? The issue people are having now is the private courriers are too expensive to replace CP.
Tampering with the mail is a federal offence fine them all and hire immigrants

Absolutely zero reason why they have no contract!! Company playing money games as usual. Stand your ground workers.👍
Instead of hating on the workers; why not put yourself in their place? Why not support Canada Post more and send some mail once in a while? None of us want to see Canada Post die. If we support Canada Post by spending some money with them year round; we also support the workers. They wouldn't have to "Hold Canada Hostage" as some put it, if Canada Post made money and could then pay their workers better.
My side business does a lot of shipping to canada and worldwide. I have had more problems with Canada Post with late/missing/damaged parcels than any other postal/couirer service from around the world. And Canada is only 20% of my business.
This is a good time to find alternative services and eventually Canada post services wouldn't be needed.
Just another corporation with s***** management and no one looking out for the money. Just spend spend spend taking big fat bonuses. Ridiculous
