For anyone wondering, Two Lines is a game about a guy who killed himself when he found out his lover was pregnant. He's now stuck in a never ending loop, either hell or purgatory. The "Two Lines" refers to the two lines on the pregnancy test
At the start it said “2 lines for life 2 lines for death” so pretty sure it was the pregnancy test and also cutting himself. But also there were two dead people in the bed so it seems like a man finding and killing his wife because she got pregnant while cheating, and then killed himself
@@yodaoncrack325 Well if it's a lover it's a different thing. Maybe he already had a gf, cheated, and then got the other girl pregnant. Or maybe she aborted? Who knows. It's art.
READ! You play as a recent suicide man, who killed his wife/girlfriend and unborn child. (The woman is under the covers of the bed, upside down you can see her boobs faintly at 8:14-8:15) Her pregnancy test is sitting on the bathroom sink counter. The player, man, overdoses on sleeping/pain meds and kills himself in the bathtub. The game is you running from death in a "Purgatory"-like environment. You wake up in the bathtub you died in, then relive the panic you felt as your wife/girlfriend told you about the baby, and the pain of death is quick and painless. The figure tells you "They didn't deserve it." [Your wife/girlfriend and child didn't deserve to die.] The figure/Mark says "YOU DESERVED to die." [You deserve death for killing your family.]
The characters in the last game represent an empty family: An abusive father (pig, cigs and a bite, eyes in the back of his head), a grandfather on his deathbed (no limbs, just sits and watches anything regardless of having no eyes with a bunch of other disabled elderly people), a drug addict sibling or uncle maybe (shakes uncontrollably, speaks familiarly yet distantly, needs to be 'plugged in', which ends up being his death), and an abusive mother (all mouth, passive aggressive, 'It was only a matter of time'). Pretty crazy game honestly.
Yes, the pig is meant to be a commanding/abusive boyfriend, the one electric dude was the forgotten suicidal sibling, the mouth was the overbearing mother and the doll was the lazy, apathetic couch potato dad
for anyone who doesn't know, "two lines" means positive on a pregnancy test or pregnant and sadly it also means two lines down the wrists symbolizing death and or suicide.
I think the character in the game killed themselves after finding out there wife/GF was pregnant which is why he is now stuck in a limbo and always running from that monster and no matter how much he runs he always ends back in the blood stained bath tub

Two Lines was made quickly for a game jam. According to the creator, the story is a bit rushed for this reason. I do not have his explanation of the story on hand but it goes something like: 1. Protagonist plans a business trip, but then cancels it. (Briefcase and cancelled plane ticket on floor.) 2. Protagonist consequently catches his wife sleeping with another man and kills them both. (Two dead bodies in bed.) 3. Protagonist realizes wife was pregnant. (Test in bathroom. Two For Life.) 4. Protagonist cannot be sure whether wife was pregnant with his baby or the other guy's. 5. Protagonist commits suicide by cutting wrists. (Bloody razor in bathroom. Two For Death.) 6. Protagonist enters torture loop as self-inflicted punishment for his sins. ("You deserve this", etc.) The game is heavily based on Silent Hill. Mr. Bird plays the role of Pyramid Head (i.e. the guilty part of the protagonist's ego hunting him down), and if you read the street signs, they are the same street layout as in the original Silent Hill.
Thanks for that, man. A really fucked up experience but an interesting game nonetheless. Who said that horror games need to have a happy ending, right?
Two lines is about a man who just find out that his wife is cheating and also pregnant. He murdered her and her lover and then cut his wrists. Running away from a monster to wake up in a bath again is his punishment for what he did. Two lines for life = pregnancy test, two lines for death = two cuts on a wrist
Thank you! I thought it was about abortion, or possibly a suicide over learning of the pregnancy. But overall, I just feel like in general meaningful comments like these, analyzing the games, are hard to come by down here.

Two lines is one of the simplest games Mark has played and yet one of the best. This is noth because it happens in the familiar environment of a city with your opponent probably being a human and because unlike most games he has played, the threat appears in the beginning rather than jumping on you at some point later, and through the whole gameplay you see him at several instances and you constantly know that he is still after you.

Game 1: Really deep, about someone who found out they were pregnant and didn't want to be, or possibly even about prostate cancer Game 2: Basically a jumpscare sim Game 3: *viscerally disturbing.*

I love how in the second game the creator more then likely just got his son or nephew to make scary faces while he took photos just to put them in the game
Hey Mark, recommend playing cube escape as a pass time, it's a series of escape games with an interesting story, and I think you would enjoy it a bit. Enjoyed today's video too! Loved the two lines games, very interesting.

@gamergirlcommics it's funny you should mention unus annus because a character in a show my grandmother was watching last night mentioned the words Memento Mori and I quickly without hesitation or without thinking blurted out the words unus annus the second the character got those words out of their mouthmy grandmother looked at me and said what did you just say and I quickly replied nothing and quickly went back to my room because I was in shock that I just blurted it out after hearing that the cult is real man lmfao
The last game, “The Ward” is probably the weirdest and most unsettling game I’ve seen on any “Scary Game” format/ type of video. Just my personal opinion though.
I didn't feel even in danger while watching it (I mean, I'm not the one playing but in Two Lines for example I was worried he would appear suddently in the next corner) I found it pretty funny and interesting and I honestly don't get how Mark acted like that while/after playing it. If what people think (that it represents a bad family, which I too think it's very possible) it's correct, then maybe it's because of my family? since it is very splittered and I see family problems like something normal because there has been since I was 4 or so, but they aren't that bad and specially not directly agaisnt me (except one but it's pretty much resolved) so it doesn't affect me like some trauma or something like that (as far as I know) because if I had traumas, I wouldn't feel confortable watching it).
Uralink no worries. Thanks for sharing. Everyone perceives things differently, and that’s the fun in a lot of things that are created. It’s not wrong if you have a different outlook or experience.
mark talking about how “safe” you are inside your home it made me chuckle bc like that’s how me & my partners talk to our kids except we have a little running joke that the things you see in the corner of your eye is just us watching over them and keeping them safe :]
The first game “Two Lines” is literally how my nightmares are. Running from something scary with nowhere to go. Endless running until I wake up. Nothing made sense 😰
When you become aware in your dream either try to actively runaway kind of until you hide I’ve done that before it doesn’t work the second thing I ever did is also tried to run away throw myself out the window when I was actively in my dream and realize it another fucker popped up right in the other side of the parking lot where I was running too from the other one right behind os multiple so I just woke up right then and there because I force myself to wake up if I think about it hard enough you can always just jump yourself a really high buildings it works it’s awesome it’s probably the best solution it’s very hard to find like high places easy enough There’s something you can do that actually makes you feel better at one point run towards it at full friggin speed looking try to find it and I find a weapon if you want if you don’t feel comfortable otherwise just run towards it like try to hug it straight up it’s actually your subconscious running away from your problems
I absolutely loved the first one. It perfectly captures the vibe of being chased in a dream. Reminds me of a half-abandoned building near my friend's house that we explore sometimes.
Do you have a medical condition where you need to be wary of sudden suprises or? I'm genuinely curious because I always see lists and I dont understand them. Hopefully this comment is timed well- everytime I ask it doesnt get a response cuz they're on videos like, weeks old
I think it's better to be surprised, the rush of adrenaline is an exciting thing. But, i can understand those who want to prepare themselves. It's just not as fun

It’s hard to realize that I grew up with mark now, that a friend suggested him to me in grade school and now I’m entering college. The fact that his smile and positivity got me through my hard times when no one else could, the fact that I wouldn’t be the man I was if it was not for his influence and how he motivated me to continue school and make something of myself. To live instead of die, I was at that low in my life and he just pulled me through it, thank you so much mark. Thank you for becoming the motivator to not only me but several others

The last game, “The Ward” is probably the weirdest and most unsettling game I’ve seen on any “Scary Game” format/ type of video. Just my personal opinion though.
I agree. I feel so disgusting for some reason.
@@sonicroachdoggjrraven3263 considering that it's theorised to be about an abusive/toxic family... that's understandable.
Lmao sorry for all that text.

The first game “Two Lines” is literally how my nightmares are. Running from something scary with nowhere to go. Endless running until I wake up. Nothing made sense 😰
mine are more like that but in the sense of the environment. mine are super unsettling in the imagery, not the contents!
I only get nightmares when sleeping uncorrectly, and they always have something to do with beds.
My nightmares are more like that last game
I don't have dreams :)
