I know the pricing must be stretched, but am I the only one surprised that Gunnar Henderson basically wasn't mentioned? High-performing SS that will benefit from the shorter porch opposite field in BAL and chance to be the face of a franchise that will be in the mix for half a decade to come? He may not be a candidate to double in price but also seems less likely to go down 75% this year (relative to every other name on the list!)

With Soto arriving to the Mets, Mark Vientos and Francisco Alvarez may see a bump up. For pitchers, Taj Bradley might be worth taking a flyer on, he was dominant at times last year and may have it figured out.
Chris, you continue to be my favorite for continuing to mention Soderstrom. All jokes aside his underlying numbers are not terrible. Hits the ball hard and doesn’t strike out excessively. He needs to lift the ball more, but if he does there’s 30 hr there. I am biased though. Oh and bought the lava lamps to try and complete the rainbow.
I know technically his RC was in 22 but look for Royce Lewis to finally play 130 plus games and tear the cover off the ball. The man only has 549 AB but has 33 HR and a WAR of 3.4. He just needs to stay healthy. He also hi a homerun in his first 2 postseason AB
Yeah, it's just so hard to bank on heath from a guy who hasn't been able to stay healthy. That said, Judge defied the odds and stayed on the field in 2024, so maybe 2025 is the year for Buxton and Lewis!! (you think maybe the training staff in Minnesota needs some new people??)
Michael Harris is possibly the best pick on the whole thing. I have one of his autos, and when I was going to go sell it I was baffled as to how low they got, even a year ago. Once the Braves actually do something, or he has a breakout season, his cards should surpass others. Until then I've got a nice on card auto /99 that I'll keep since I'm not selling for $75 or whatever it's going for these days
This is a fun video and probably a fun game to take part in. As a Red Sox fan, I'm hoping for a big bounce back from Casas. I do get tired of the constant "investment" talk, "ROI" and the worry about "monetary gains." Sometimes, the financials take away from the enjoyment of card videos.
I've been picking up Matt McLain and Luis Matos. Matos won Rookie of the Year honors in Dominican Winter Ball (for what that's worth), and he's only 22. McLain was hurt last year after a really good 2023 season.
Chris here - Oh I know all about McClain! 0 games played is a problem. He's got a great home ballpark for hitters, but suddenly kind of a crowded roster. Also, for the purposes of this exercise, his cards are still not as cheap as they should be!

A guy who's been completely under the radar since he broke his hand in 2024 is Jordan Beck. I can't wait to see a full healthy season from him this year. Also Brenton Doyle was a 20 hr / 30 sb guy last year and won his 2nd gold glove in a row. If he can cut the k rate some and get the avg up he's a near 5 tool player. I can't believe Doyle didn't make the top 10 CF list on MLB Network.

KC is a small market, plus he got overshadowed a bit by Lugo last year (who is more likely to regress a bit based on age). Another decent year should make him a known commodity.
@@SpitballinCards Not if they keep improving. I don't think Detroit is the hobby black hole that is Miami, Tampa, Rockies, Dbacks, Athletics, etc.( add in 10 other teams). He has to improve on last year, too Add another 15 HR's and he's right up there. I like Detroit. I see them on a similar level as Baltimore in terms of hobby appeal. Not the best place, but far from the worst.
I want it to not be true, but no pitcher rookies have aged well in the 2000s. They should be worth more, but they arent. Skenes value peaks and are a sell on opening day IMHO

Christian Encarnacion Strand had his 2024 season completely wiped out with injuries but if you look at his 2023 stats (notably in the minors) dude has serious power and will be 100% ready for 2025. Last few chrome autos have gone for $7-15. Do worry about PT squeeze in CIN, though. I’m already knee deep on the Riley Greene train, so, let’s go!
One guy that might be good is Joey Ortiz. Very good power and could have been considered for the all-star game at one point. Chourio might not seem undervalued, but he's considered 4th or 5th best of 2024. There's room for him to go up in the next year should he continue upward trajectory like Gunnar.

Lawlar struck out 31 times in 27 games in the Dominican winter league I’m very worried about him. If you like guys that swing the bat fast I think jerar encarnacion is interesting although there is a legitimate chance they choose to not put him on the 40 man. I tend to like all the rangers guys jsut because I think that team has a huge bounce back this year I think kumar rocker is a good play!

This is a great question. And I think the answer is yes. Chris here - frankly, I think Ohtani alone is preventing several other players from being more widely collected. Kind of line how Brady hurts all other quarterbacks
The whole Nationals team looks like it's finally back on the way up. I like gore as well - especially in fantasy for 2025 - but his rookies were in 2022!
Masyn Winn doesn't get his due because he doesn't hit for power but I can see him being a future All Star. Seems the fundamentally sound players don't get the love. Baseball is more than 3 outcome players and heavy analytics. Guys who hit .240 with 30 HR power just dont do it for me.

PCA is an electric player, the kind that will drive hype if he can get on base .350 and hit 20 homers. His defense and base running will carry him if his on base stats don’t pull him down.

Dominguez is the best bang for your buck! If he is halfway good as a starter in arguably the biggest market in baseball his cards are gonna skyrocket! Now is a good time to buy his cards. I picked up his HFA, mojo PSA 10, and his Bowman anime cards all for 125$

Lawrence Butler is going to have a 30-30 season. He almost went 20-20 last year in a hundred fewer at bats than Jackson Chourio. He was 2 steals away.

Masyn Winn doesn't get his due because he doesn't hit for power but I can see him being a future All Star. Seems the fundamentally sound players don't get the love. Baseball is more than 3 outcome players and heavy analytics. Guys who hit .240 with 30 HR power just dont do it for me.
He had a very good 2024 but it doesn't seem like hobby noticed or cared much. Maybe he'd have been a great pick for this!

Dominguez is the best bang for your buck! If he is halfway good as a starter in arguably the biggest market in baseball his cards are gonna skyrocket! Now is a good time to buy his cards. I picked up his HFA, mojo PSA 10, and his Bowman anime cards all for 125$
Yeah, he's in a great spot to perform and see his cards go up. But nothing in baseball is guaranteed!
