- Welcome to a new VoxChats interview! It was an absolute privilege to speak with Cristina and Andy from Lacuna Coil. Bands that have been writing, touring and delivering over decades are incredible to ask vocal, writing and maintenance questions of! I wish I had more than 15mins with them but that's how much we have for now! I hope you enjoy it!

Definitely a little jealous of Julia and her hanging out with Christina and Andrea (time to go and put Enjoy the Silence on repeat)
I’ve recently gotten into this band and they have so many great songs! Cristina and Andrea seem like super nice and funny people and they also seem well spoken. It’s cool to hear their takes on performing, inspiration, etc.
Cristina & Andrea are very nice and they are singing better than ever.
Lacuna Coil are awesome. I've been hoping you'd do an episode on them and Cristina's vocals.
I love that they listen to and were inspired by Paradise Lost. Now that's a band that went through many musical changes.

Always loved this band (+ we are from the same country)! I remember being a 14 years old boy listening to songs like Our Truth or Heaven's a Lie. They have such great voices and chemistry on the stage. Probably i'm talking nosense but Cristina, as a singer, kinda reminds me of Floor Jansen from Nightwish.
I remember when Julia said that she was going to the festival... then Lacuna Coil and some other bands were suddenly posting pictures of Australian animals on Facebook. Glad to see these interviews at last, I've loved Cristina for a long, long time.
They are such goofballs! I follow them since 2003 and they have always been amazing musicians and amazing people!
This was a pleasant surprise. Now I hope Cristina & Andrea get interviewed on Charismatic Voice, because Lacuna Coil is coming to the US pretty soon.
This was great Julia! More of this!! You are a natural interviewer. You can always tell when the interviewer is doing a great job when the subject really opens up with some interesting conversation.
Some great insight into how they approach writing and the concept of less preparation to maintain energy for shows is really Intersting.

Perfect timing.
First off : INCREDIBLE masseter muscle definition on Andy.
"No formal training (or a bit of breathing training by Andy)." - aaaaand, a thousand vocal coaches shed a tear.
To me, this was a wonderful moment : two talented people who landed on their vocal 'feet' and built themselves up by doing many of the right things simply by following what felt right.

Holy crap. I've loved this band since In A Reverie. LUCKY!
They did something really groundbreaking with their music, which I thought was awesome. We see a lot of reboots of movies and what they'd be like with more modern tech and more experience with the stories, but how many people have rebooted an old album?

Cool video! Good to hear singers talk about their techniques.
In theyr music video for Save Me you get to see abit on how they gather around eachother before and if i remember right,after a concert. They shot it like a live video with concert highlights. Cristina is actually a desent gamer too,she streams both just chatting and gaming streams on twitch.

This sounds like a dig but it's not. The first time I saw Lacuna Coil live was a festival setting around 2008 (or so). The band was great, Cristina was phenomenal but Andrea's voice was absolutely shot. I'm not sure if he was sick or burned out (not sure how long they'd been on the road) but he sounded like his range was about a half octave and he was so raspy it must have hurt to even talk. I've seen them since and he's great. I've also noticed that his style has changed quite a bit. His harsh vocals seem much heavier yet he sounds much cleaner and more healthy. Whatever he's doing... keep it up. Cheers.

Ive been a LC fan for 20 years now. Theyre going on 50, but still sound amazing.
Oh gosh! Cristina is so gorgeous! Following her on IG you can see all the different aspects of her. She is not only adorable, she is the Italian woman who loves cooking, food and all you would expect from such a woman, then she is this nerdy girl playing video games, then she is a TV personality in Italy and in the end she is ageless somehow. Simply a great person!

The Valkyrie Interviewer!....first , great job interviewing all the artists.......I see a late night tv talk show in your future....secondly, I was shocked at how tall you are.....like a certain other Valkyrie singer.,..and I would supect yopu could belt like her.......I think we would all love to see/hear you do a cover or two of your favorite songs you have reacted to.
