Always heard the Virginia coach was a quality guy. I have no reason to diss believe that but two things can be true and the fact is he did those freshmen and transfers dirty and there’s really no getting around it. Both things are true. It’s all it is and I’m relieved to hear somebody in immediate just to be honest and stop going on and on about what a shame and what a loss and how things are going to change it’s embarrassing thank God Robbie just straight talk this thing like a real man

Goodman carrying a lot of water saying this wasn’t about Tony getting his friend the job.

it's pathetic how many media guys are carrying water on this. he clearly did it at the time he did it to make sure sanchez got the job

I think it is obviously a move timed specifically to get his assistant the head coaching job for a season.

I agree with Hummel. He couldve retired in april or may but once he committed to the season and signed players he shouldve saw out the season. The things he hates is he had Virginia on the verge of becoming a powerhouse, but NIL collectives killed that momentum for Virginia, a school that likes sports but isnt a crazy culture of life or death and theyll never be able to compete with the schools who can raise millions every year.

thy were struggling to recruit before NIL. kids don't want to play that style especially 5 star type of guys

the thing about it to me is, all those things he doesnt like about coaching and college ball and NIL and all that were in place like 6 months ago. he could've easily retired back in April. or announced this as his final year and done a farewell tour type season. but to go through off season recruiting, your conference media days, and then have like a revelation and step down just a few weeks before game 1 is a pretty weak move.

If I am a player or a fan of that team and I thought there was a possibility that the man dreaded getting up in the morning to be the coach then I would thank him for leaving the money on the table and retiring to let someone else take over.

Who cares what you think? The whole staff is there. It's two years for most. Every guy upgraded not only where they were, but are coming to a better situation with a TON of turnover. What part of getting paid for that (now) and you're up against the mythical Dook and Tarholes on TV?
You know what? He assembled the best team he could out of the ashes of last year's finish. He worked from the moment they bombed against CSU, and never stopped, and lined up the old school way of having continuity. Not only that, HE TOLD YOU EXACTLY WHY he was leaving to a fault - and gave everything he had for FIFTEEN YEARS. So, again, no one cares what you think, really. He earned it.

Look at Goodman crayfishing after Robbie lays it on the line. The podcast should be called Hummel and Goodman. The networks know who is top notch by having Robbie doing so many college games.

Quit crying LMAO. These "kids" are making tons of money and getting a free education. Something that most people don't get a chance to do. The fact that he is so passionate about this subject is so funny to me. Especially in the environment of college basketball now.

Tony Bennet was making a lot more and was supposed to be the adult in the room. He could have announced he was retiring at the end of the season so that he could honor the promise to the players that he brought in. He quit on them. What a cry baby loser!
