    Honestly, I'm starting to see a lot of Bob Sr. coming out in Dan. I recall how Bob would get in the doc, "The Buck Stops Here" about his New Jersey program, and I'm really starting to see more of the ego from Dan coming out, and he seems to be using his recent success to feel like he can say or do whatever he wants. He doesn't seem to filter himself for character's sake.

    EVERY call is not life or death in basketball. Coaches make it seem like it is the end of time. It is a GAME. If my team wins or loses, I STILL get up and go to work the next day. It is NOT life or death...If you keep saying the "sky is falling" all the time because of EVERY call going against you, folks tune you out after a while.

    I think Hurley knows this team isn't the team he thought he had. Hurley was a head of the rest of the NCAA in the way he built his roster but now everyone else has caught up and its going to be a lot harder on UCONN. Hurley is a great coach but his temper has already cost them a game or two.

    He represents the university and the state, I'm pretty sure he will hear about his sideline antics from them about the issues that've been covered here; hard to ignore when it's "live at 5" about everything and everyone, there's nowhere to hide like there was for Bobby Knight until the axe finally fell. Besides it looks bad, so they'd better clean it up because no-one wants the 1980's version of the big east again , what with all of the people triggering like they do today. But I've already said it, at some point Dan will have to choose between his temper and coaching, only one will survive. I really hope he gets his sh*t together.

    This was Bobby Knight who for about 12 years bully and talked crap..but they finally did the opposite the last 6 or 7

    • @hgspiderman56
      @hgspiderman56 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Bob Knight is a legend, but 10x better than Hurley? No. Knight did have the last undefeated team in college basketball so he does deserve a lot of credit, but when the tournament went to 64 teams, he was less successful. He did have a title in 1987 which he deserves a lot of credit for and a Final Four in 1992 and an Elite 8 in 1993 (swept Fab Five in regular season), but he was largely dismal in the NCAAT after 1993. Also, Knight did not produce that much NBA talent. Most of the top players that went to Indiana, with the exception of Isiah Thomas, didn't pan out in the NBA because they got burned out dealing with Knight on a daily basis. Look at Andre Patterson. He was top 5 recruit and didn't come close to having his performance match that ranking.
      Hurley just had back to back titles in a much tougher and competitive era and dominated the field with the largest point differentials ever in the NCAAT. And he has sent 7 players to the NBA in the last 2 year

      @@tonywhite7083 Indiana was a blue blood that top players dreamed of playing for. He got good recruits, they just never panned out in the NBA they way people expected except for Zeke. It's not like he go mid level players. As far as wins go, Hurley has a long way to go, but as far as titles go he already has 2 to Bob Knight's 3 titles.
      As for top 3, well I guess (shoulder shrug). I would put Coach K, Dean Smith, Jim Calhoun, and Jay Wright above him.

    He's actually not better than this though, it's a long term chronic problem with him.
    We also need to stop coddling him and pretending it was a bad call that set him off just because he said so. It was objectively a correct call. Read the rule and use your eyes on the film and stop letting this guy hypnotize you. He's like a fan, he's just sitting there yelling unhinged fan trolling into a microphone after every game and people act like he's serious and right, cut it out.

    Danny Hurley has done something that no current coach can say they’ve ever comes close to doing. Two straight championships where his team blew out every single opponent all the way through. Two games after pulling-off that amazing feat and doofuses like this clown wearing the Brooklyn Dodgers hat want to call him an embarrassment? Not way… he is in a class by himself right now. Wake me up when Bill Self runs the table even once by more than ten points each game. Hurley is. Big-time champion and that’s a fact.

      Hurley has to conduct himself better. He has reverted to the bad habits of before Feb 2023. Was the officiating awful in Maui? Yes and Carolina fans in Maui didn't like it either.

    BIG EAST play doesn't get you a foul everytime you breathe on someone like they called in maui , they let you play basketball and not stop play for every ticky tack time you touched someone, that was Dan's problem. I'd would rather have a coach with a pulse & passion than 90% of them who don't say or do anything. Now that's MORE EMBARRASSING for a coach than what Hurley does. That's the job of a coach to stick up for the players with passion & not just sit back and watch the REF SHOW.
