Thank you Karen! She's already proving to be a wonderful companion. Still a few rough edges to smooth out but coming along very nicely. I should have another video to post within the next few days.

Nice to see you out in the woods again! Ruby looks like she is improving, just a little barking and excessive energy but looking good in the canoe. The way she sat and watched you eat reminded me so much of Sam. Nice job on the Ruby-Cam, that is fun and such a nice perspective.
I was on Little Sag that night of the Aurora on the the high SE corner peninsula site with a full view to the north. It was just amazing and was to the south of me at times, once in a lifetime event it felt like. Unfortunately I did not take my Z50 on that trip and really kicked myself. Thanks for sharing your images, so great.

It was great to be out in the woods again. Ruby is definitely improving. The barking was because another dog was walking by with its owner. I really need to find a way to get her to stop jumping up on people and mouthing them as well as to not be as rambunctious around other dogs. After last weekend's trip (her first canoe/camping trip), I'm feeling more comfortable about taking her to the Boundary Waters next year but will probably have to have her on a leash, tethered to me, on portages just in case we meet up with other people, especially with dogs.
Lucky you, having that front row seat to the Aurora. The best I could get at 18 Lake was a view to the northwest -- with just an inkling of what was going on behind the trees to the north (forget a south view too). I eventually packed up and headed to nearby Dumbbell Lake where I knew I could see a lot more of the northern sky. Unfortunately, the clouds were moving in fast by the time I got there. The first photo in the series was on 18 Lake, the rest were at Dumbbell.
      Thank you!

Sweet trip! Great to see you out again Larry. I think it was a brilliant idea to use your old tent for Ruby's first campout. I'm sure Ruby has scented Sam around the old house, yard, canoe equipment and now in the tent. He is familiar with it and will be ready to scent his very own tent on the next trip. I've missed the on the trail dog's eye view. BTW What was in that log staring back at Ruby at 25:16? It was big hairy and stood on 2 legs, I think. 😊

Glad to be out and also glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, Sam never had much of a chance to leave much scent around our Ely home. But, that tent sure would have been full of his scent... as well as the current tent. I have no idea what that was in the log... didn't notice anything until I was reviewing the footage for this video. Even then, I figured it was some kind of optical illusion -- holes in the roots the other side that just happened to look like eyes. Now, I've examined it at slow speed and not sure. Looks almost cat like. Can't believe Ruby didn't go crazy trying to get at it if it was an animal though..
