It's beautiful to see an entertainer like Stevie Ray Vaughan bringing so much sensational legendary blue's and Rock n roll music to fans all over the world..Stevie left us his legacy that will never decline and only get better with time..Everybody misses Stevie Ray Vaughan because he is the real thing and humble in his life to everyone..what a performance he always is on stage giving to his fans..RIP Stevie..
SRV is immaculate here. In a completely different land (Japan) and culture, he readily rocks the lil geisha girls socks off! God bless you Stevie. R.I.P.
Saw him twice in Madison, WI. Un-fucking-believable. I can't say how grateful I am to have experienced him live. Even better than the Capitol Theater version, which I've been listening to for months. This verson has insane guitar and killer bass.
How could ANYBODY think Hendrix was even 1/2 as good as this guy? And this was not even his best work. Just unreal.. All that power, intensity, technical proficiency and taste. There was never one before and 30 years later there still isn't one as good.
SENSATIONAL..blue's and rock n roll were Stevie's motivators and well..those guitars of Stevie's were his pride and joy and the guitars felt the same for Stevie..like love affair..r you with me..RIP Stevie Vaughan..u live on
Much prefer his "power trio" days. He wasn't in the best of mental/physical health in those days, but the amount of musical output he got with that 3 piece was remarkable. That really shines on this tune. Probably his best original written tune in my opinion and had a really good balance of the 3 members, the music, and the lyrics.
@TREYOLDHIPPIE i hear you...i meant 'overdriven amp' in a good way. here he gets into jimi hendrix distortion territory more than he does on any of his albums or any other live recordings i've heard (never saw him live myself though) so it could be the sound board i guess. all good though!!!
@kingswayguitar OK I see what you mean, Jimi distortion territory. I think that comes thru both artists quite a lot, maybe its more on the live, which is my passion. that I can not say. I did see Jimmy, and Stevie, well he is well-documented by Hiro and a few others here.. the sound is sooh great on recordings, even live these days! Interesting comment, for sure Kingswayguitar! keep on rockin! K.
@kingswayguitar Not sure what 'overdrivin amp' means but I think some soundboards 'got' the real/live SRV SOUND+ its a beautiful thing. Others missed a rare chance. Here its a mix of good a not so good. I would not blame the amp. in a genius's short INTENSE career. His sound is sooh intense on most cd's, where the sound is much more focused on than some outdoor or even indoor events with massive crowds to 'feed.' imho
This was near the nadir of his drug/drinking. His playing is still spectacular even though he’s blasted. I don’t think Stevie and Tommy remember much of this.
Honestly I remember back when I was much younger and I first heard the song I loved it but honestly took me a while to catch the lyrics properly haha SRV is my favorite guitar player And in my opinion one of the best to ever pick up a guitar
The most captivating guitar player of all time! Stevie you are so greatly missed but your music will live on forever!
Been playing this song a lot today. Great song, under rated. I find it to be one of his best. It's got that swing.
Very True, Sir Barristan.
Under rated by whom???? The important thing is your own personal opinion

I Wish Stevie Ray Vaughan Was Still Here His Guitar Playing And Music Are Timeless!
When SRV plays this song on the Hamiltone its soooo thick and heavy yet the high end was light Love that guitar, awesome version!

Makes me think of quitting playing the guitar when I watch SRV dig in,... and I've been at it for 52 years. Damn!,... this man set the bar high.

A True Legend
Three words ..STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN! the best that ever lived!

Because everyone has his own taste, and because music is not a compermtition
247 likes 0 dislikes... that fucking says something
529 against 0...i think that means something too kk
i wouldn't want to be the dislike guy.. im sure id get hunted down :) RIP SRV.
anyone else find his amp is a lot more overdriven in these tokyo '85 performances?
That sustain at 5:14 though ...
SENSATIONAL..blue's and rock n roll were Stevie's motivators and well..those guitars of Stevie's were his pride and joy and the guitars felt the same for Stevie..like love affair..r you with me..RIP Stevie Vaughan..u live on
scarf muting was his secret...
lol
I DON'T Even know how he does that besides with talent!, Stevie was and Is AMAZING!!!!!!
Muting in general..it's what always impressed me the most w.his playing. All left handed, almost never palm muted.
What is scarf muting?
Anyway I think he’s using a 63 or a 64 scarf because brand new scarf doesn’t even sound

I know your comment is 2 years old but... He botched the first verse and combined it with the 2nd. Still miss his music all the time.
