  • This is Hojicha and it is matcha’s older cousin. Literally.
    While both drinks are made from green tea leaves, matcha is made from young tea leaves that are steamed and powdered after drying. And hojicha is made from mature green tea leaves that are roasted at high temperatures which results in a deeper toasty and earthy taste compared to matcha.
