Some crafting does mean you do need certain pelts which means tracking down the right animals. so I continue to use my method. More fun that way :) #14 about the instant stop. Better and funnier way is to Hold R1 and X. The horse will do a skid stop 180. #15. OH that's why I've beheaded a few people. I've put higher velocity ammo on my pistol and totally forgot about it. I just thought it was because of multiple headshots
I didn't know about the ram/sheep thing, i would rather just skin the penned in sheep from a farm because they're more often 3 stars, but good to know.
My tips If I can share: 1. Poison arrows and poison throwing knives are the best, they will kill anything except bear and alligator I think (remember bow isn't a weapon for silent kill). 2. During cutscenes press start and do a screen shot and you will have beautiful wallpaper for your ps4. 3. Molly was the real traitor not Micah. I know what Milton said but just think, oh and try to find her in camp after main mission to speak with her (she speaks about loyalty and then uncle cuts with his bullshit (chapter 3). 4. If you need to hitch your horse but struggle to turn around to make command to appear cause horse is moving during a turn, hold R1 button so he will turn in one place make it easier to face hitch post. 5. If you're riding on horse and there's predator around and spook your steed (now works best with max bound and war horses) don't touch left analog and let horse run away or do circles when you accelerate and concentrate to shoot animal. Sure he will throw you off of his back if predator is too close. Also you can hear snakes even without seeing them on minimap and watch your horse trying to avoid snakes too. 6. Mess with cougars and bears dodging them (you know how to dodge right?). 7. During a fight aim your weapon than open weapon wheel and dring tonic, press button to activate dead eye and kill enemy like real cowboy should, drinking the whiskey.

That burnt mansion also has a gold bar..and when fishing for legendary fish.. go to first person with your rod and hit the eagle eye and you can see the fish in the water and where to aim for legendary ones.
the arrow detail is awesome. I never realized how awesome improved arrows are until I realized you can oneshot pretty much anything with a headshot. Heartland Overflow is a great spot to farm flight feathers and animal fat because there’s tons of ducks there.

Here’s a tip. I just found this out after playing every day since release. I was crafting and stumbled across this, I bet you most people know this but I didn’t. When crafting tonics, food, ammo, and so on, if you hit left or right on the D pad you can scroll through multiple ways to make the same item. Different recipes for the same outcome. So for example if you really wanna make that miracle tonic but you don’t have the ingredients just change the recipe and you may find you couldn’t make it but just a different way. Also this is how you can make some very powerful food. Say you cook a venison, if you change the recipe you can make the venison have extra deadeye core or stamina core and so on.

When using poison throwing knives, when thrown and have connected with the target, whether a tree, fence, animal, or person, the poison comes off, but if you use it as a normal knife, when you slash someone instead of executing them, they get the poison effect, so use this wisely.
Great tips. Took me forever to realize the improved arrow benefit, I guess I missed receiving the pamphlet my 1st time throguh the game. Its pretty much the only way to get a perfect beaver pelt. Guns are either too powerful or too weak. Would be sweet if you could split-point up some high velocity ammo. Be like having a .50 BMG lol.

Awesome vids, thanks for all the pointers man. One tip I recently found (and probably too late to do much good) is when looting lock boxes or wardrobes it’s far easier to switch to 1st person view. This is especially helpful if you already have max amount of some of the items.
I use my bow with improved arrows more then any weapon. It takes down big animals with one arrow not to mention enemy’s !! When you want to be stealthy and take out several enemy’s before the others see you. Usually takes them couple shots with the arrow before they know exactly where your at.
While hitch hiking you can be involved in a robbery, gaining honour by interveneing or lose it by surrendeing. Pretty sure its lamoyne raiders attempting the robbery
The tip with hitting someone and staying there would of been soooo helpful if I knew that you could just stay there and talk them down. Now I have a $1,500 bounty in SD. (Btw that’s the max bounty you can have apparently.)
I don't like really using Improved Arrows because it seems like you lose them most of the time when fired. Not to mention only 2 or 3 animals even require you to use bows to get Perfect Pelts. Wolves and Snakes, specifically, and standard arrows will OHK Wolves with a headshot. On the flip side, if you have the money ALWAY have Express ammo loaded.
It does but I don't like the fact that they can't be recollected and anything that requires you to kill it with the bow for a perfect pelt/carcass will die in one hit from normal arrows/small game arrows anyway, making the need to use Improved arrows pointless in my opinion.
You need improved arrows for some of the animals. Probably could just use ammo and a different rifle but improved arrows for certain animals is key to keeping your perfect pelts. Not that big of a deal to craft them anyways. Just need to get feathers which is pretty easy to come by. lots of birds :)
@@thatguy1729 With what a Repeater? Because every time I kill a Wolf with anything other than a bow it ruins the pelt (perfect quality to good), and as we all know pelts less than perfect are trash, barely worth the effort to take for the less than 50 cents you'll get for them.
Cattle thief trick: enter in a pen and spook the sheep. You can herd them to a safe spot selecting the best one to skin. They are also easy to lasso...
YOOO You can ask people for rides! Focus on someone driving a carriage call out to them to get them to stop, doesn't always work. If they stop you can ask for a ride.

Using Rope to capture big animals is a good way to get a 3 star fur. Just my opinion.

Wait a minute lolll I just started playing this game last week & I’ve been hunting all of the legendary animals. I just killed the moose, the elk & the bear - which are all like north east on the map, then drove them to the trapper on the west coast - you’re saying I don’t even have to do all that?! 😭😭😭
And anyone playing this that can't figure out that a shotgun will blow someone's head off and dismember them and they're like trying to use the bow or varmint rifle to dismember, they need to go back to playing Bratz the game or Animal Crossing.
