    Hi 👋 thank you so much. I have a question for you: we got this machine a week ago but is showing w-068 machine locked start cleaning. How can we delete this error?

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm never had that error when I worked there. I would recommend cleaning it like I shown in the video. At least using the pellets and rinsing it. If that doesn’t clear the error code I would try and contact someone who is experienced in repairing these machines. I hope this helps!

    Question, I had a debate with a co worker so I’d like some clarification.. is there a sensor physically in the grounds drawer.. like can the drawer be submerged in water? I know there is a sensor inside the machine but inside the actual drawer?

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! I do not remember the grounds drawer having a sensor. I believe the sensor is inside the machine itself. The drawer can be rinsed out and put inside a dish washer. The drawer itself is just a piece of plastic with a handle. Hope this helps!

    Hey! Do you have any idea what to do if you come across this error messge? * w-068 machine locked- start cleaning? Thanks for any help! 😊

      Hi, never had this message when I worked here. Might be popping up if you haven’t cleaned the machine in a while. I’d reach out to a repairman if you can’t get it fixed. Hope this might help!

    Hey John, thanks for sharing! I was wondering what your overall experience was like with this machine? Is Starbucks still using them?

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jacob. My experience with this machine was good. It worked well and didn’t break too often. I enjoyed having the shot splitter as this allowed us baristas to make two espresso drinks at once. Unfortunately Starbucks as a whole is now using the Mastrena II which in my opinion isn’t as good. You can still find Mastrena I’s in some older Starbucks stores or in Starbucks Reserve stores. Hope this helps!

    Do you leave the steamer soaked in the cleaning solution all night? Also, after it's soaked in the solution, do you wipe it with a rag afterward?

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We leave the steamer soaked throughout the night. In the morning, they rinse off and wipe off the components before reassembling the machine. Hope this helps:)

    is there any way to have a look at the water pump supply attached to the machine set up please. thanks

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. The water pump and drains are on the bottom of the machine. I never worked with them myself. I believe only the mechanics who came in to fix them when they broke were the ones to work with the water pumps.

    • @JMTVProbashi
      @JMTVProbashi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnwestfieldyt do you happen to know any mechanics or have their contacts, that I can get in touch with? Will greatly appreciate thanks

      @johnwestfieldyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JMTVProbashi Unfortunately not, sorry. Only ever saw one guy come into the store to fix one. Never talked to him. You might have some luck talking to a local Starbucks who still uses the Mastrena Espresso machine and ask about maintenance and who they have fix their’s.

    Once I insert the the cleaning tablets does it automatically go on the rinse cycle 10 times or do I have to press a certain button for that? Thank you!

    • @sadieyu3694
      @sadieyu3694 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have to press the rinse button on the left

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Samantha, it does not. After inserting the tablets, the machine will prompt you to press the rinse button. After that, the machine will begin the cleaning cycle. I hope that helps!

    can i use the tablets for optional instead urnex ? for wands and the plastic thing

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps? We never did this. The tablets are specifically made to clean the machine. You could probably use normal soap for cleaning the wand and other pieces if you had to. Hope this helps!

  • @chrisphillips1114

    What do you press on the machine once you insert the tablets to make it clean? Thanks

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I pressed the rinse button on the machine. The rinse button runs hot water through the machine and cleans the insides with the cleaning pellets. Hope this helps!

    I’m a barista and our wand gets caked up sometimes because not everyone cleans it 😭. Also I had no idea the middle plastic piece comes off, checking my store’s machines tomorrow!!

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! For us, it was always the metal grill that would get caked up with calcium and milk stuff. I'm glad this video helped lol Good luck!

    hi! wondering if there are other cleaning tablets like the cafiza E42 that also work on this machine? also thank you for the video :)

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there Aleksandra, not sure. I would imagine there are. If they fit in the key they will probably work. At work we only ever used the E42 so a little research might help. I hope I was able to answer your question😅

    Where do you put the water in the machine?

    • @johnwestfieldyt
      @johnwestfieldyt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The water in the machine drains out the bottom through some hoses that go to a drain. I hope that helps.
