- We’re rounding out our exploration of communication prep with a chat about Strategic Science Communication. We’ll unpack the skills you need even before you begin communicating and how you can leverage those skills into SciComm that encourages action in your audience.
Anthony Dudo is an associate professor in the School of Advertising & Public Relations and the program director of science communication in the Center for Media Engagement. His research focuses on scientists’ public engagement activities, media representations of science and environmental issues, and the contributions of journalism and entertainment media to public perceptions of science.
Dudo's recent work has examined factors influencing scientists’ likelihood to engage in public communication, how scientists identify and prioritize goals for public engagement, and the growing infrastructure of stakeholders that support scientist communicators (e.g., science communication training and fellowship programs, professional scientific societies).
note: Captions are provided via speech recognition software and are entirely machine-transcribed.
