    Joined Air Cadets in '81 - have life long friends from that experience including finding my wife among the ranks. We grew together after our run in Cadets, but that's where we first met. My best friends were cadets with me. The best and least known opportunity for young adults out there. Love it that the movement continues!

      @Stephen Allen Indeed - Glider and power licenses out of the program here. Later health issues have prevented my medical renewals, but I still yearn to sit in a glider and would love to sit in a high-performance one some day with a better glide ratio than a 233.

    I've very glad I joined cadet.. I have a few years left and its genuinely where I feel the happiest.. I met my favorite people there and its where I feel safest book... I'd really recommend this program to anyone not only does it teach you important skills but it feels like a family, helped me with my confidence, helped me meet alot of amazing people, and gave me experiences I couldn't have gotten anywhere else

    I was in the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet I am very familiar with Royal Canadian Air Cadet league of Canada. One year I went up to Lethbridge, Alberta to the HART ceremony where the Civil Air Patrol and cadets from Canada come for a weekend to remember our fallen, my favorite part was when they had Air Cadet playing the bagpipes playing the tune Flowers 'O' the Forest.

      @JN - 06BA 906155 Williams Parkway Sr PS It's government funded at-least the one I go to in BC, Canada. In some cases you can actually make money from going to long camps. For example my brother went to a 2 week Training camp, and he made more than 100$ of it.

    • @Basbxyy
      @Basbxyy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @JN - 06BA 906155 Williams Parkway Sr PS Well it depends on which training camp it is.

  • @jameswalley134
    @jameswalley134 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now that’s what ALL young people should be striving for.
    A sense of purpose.
    A goal in life.
    Respect for others regardless of their ethnic background.
    Simply wishing to better themselves.
    I spent 5 years in the Australian Air Cadets.
    That experience cemented in my mind how much I wanted to be a Military Pilot.
    Eventually I achieved that goal.
    Without the Cadets, I often wonder if I would ever have been able to succeed in Aviation as I eventually did.
    The youth of today need this type of disciplined guidance.
    But those same individuals do NOT feel that they are being oppressed … they revel in the discipline & authoritarian structure of their Cadet systems.
    Never let the Leftist “Do Gooders” crucify such wonderful organisations such as the Military Cadet System.

But it also depends on how much time and effort you put into the program. So I recommend that you try out the program and see if you want to say in it.
