Love the Acura MDX Hybrid and on my wish list for next year. Does everything well and has Honda reliability. I also have a Audi S4 and will get rid of that, nice interior but after 5 years the car is a maintenance money pit. BMWs, Audi, Porsches, Land Rovers, Jags are not known for being easy to own but they make you look good - especially if you need the confidence boost from a car.
Between 2016 Acura MDX base model and it's 2017 counter-part, the price difference is $2000. This year's version being more expensive. Key difference being the lane keep assist & adaptive cruise control being optional in 2016 model. They've taken away that option & made the base model $2000 more expensive (not giving option to remove them). So that's not really a plus in 2017 model in my opinion.

My mom sold her 2010 Acura MDX because it was old and we needed a upgrade so we got the advanced but what I hate about it is that there is no wall outlets like the 2010 did second where is 7th seat and handles there is no handles but we like the NEW CAR SMELL
Hey I was wondering when u noticed the issue with the transmission. I am about to purchase a 2017 model and am reluctant on going through with the deal just bc of all the negative reviews I;ve read on it. Is it significant and approx. how long after purchasing the car did u notice the jerkiness?
@@sams5177 I sold my Acura already and bought BMW. My MDX last year completely stalled in the middle of the road and I am lucky not to be hit by a car. They couldn’t find the problem and said it was a problem with the fuel pump and replaced it. I couldn’t trust it anymore so got rid of it.
GavinQuacks The RX is also apart of the Mid-Size Luxury segment the only drawback compared to the competition is that the RX doesn’t have a third row. This might be the reason why KBB hasn’t mentioned it. However Lexus has recently released the NEW Lexus RX350L which now offers a third row. Hopefully this answers your question. :D
KingTsunamy in Indiana you only have to have a plate in the back of the car and in Illinois you need to have it in front and back. I am not sure about other states that bough. Hope I could help!
Think for yourself, don't follow the masses. Theres a video on youtube that compares the older MDX (2011?)to the Lexus RX and the Audi Q7 all wheel drive system going up a hill of ice. The RX is a piece of crap when you try to go off road or in serious snow, though pretty reliable as far as maintenance concerns. MDX out performed them. This is far from a crappy SUV and also way more reliable than Benz ML or X5. The MDX shyts on all of these SUVs unless you get the highest end version of their counterparts which would cost you at least $8k more at a minimum.(ie X5 with 4.5 litre engine or ML500 or AMG..... and the new MDX hybrid is arguably better than these.
It is just to Honda like that’s why we got the BMW X5 because it doesn’t have a cheap feeling dash and just a fact you can horribly tell how cheaply it was made, you may realize I hate this car....
OVER PRICED, THERE ARE BETTER SUV FOR THAT PRICE, ACURA ITS NOT A LUXURY CAR, ITS JUST AN OTHER HONDA WITH MORE GADGETS, FOR THAT PRICE JUST GET THE HONDA PILOT, MUCH MORE ROOM AND CONFY
They do that because they continue adding in more sensors and gadgets. Thought the same thing and how silly it was (2000s era had a slick size imo) but due to learning the reason I'm a little more okay with it now. It does mean more $$$ especially in the event of a front-loaded accident.
I think the last gen front looks way better. This one looks ugly af. It seems like Acura really are lacking style. They look waay too much like regular Hondas. Even since last generations. Especially from the side profile. At least Lexus keeps a discernable design from Toyota (excluding Camry/ES) you can tell apart an IS from a Corolla easily. But ILX or TLX looks too much like a normal Honda.
I call these 'mid luxury'. I think they're pretty good balance between poverty pack cars and silly expensive ones. I love infiniti's designs which look good at any price.
The outside of this car looks very nice, but there is nothing luxurious about the inside of this car. The two screen display, is ugly and is too much to look at.
In person this SUV looks gorgeous. Especially in white. Just my opinion.
Cool to note that WHITE is the color, less hit on the road of any other color. High vis in the day, high vis at night.

I just chose the ‘17 MDX after looking at the ‘17 Q7. Value and overall reliability sealed the deal. I’m huge fan of naturally aspirated engines too.

‘A-Spec’ is just a sportier version aesthetically; same engine and drivetrain. No extended warranty; my mechanic said they don’t have too many issues.

Can you adjust the climate control without the touchscreen? For something I use all the time why take my eyes off the road to use a touchscreen?

No Apple Carplay or Android auto. I cant understand why is still not available. We carry smartphones with GPS and navigation systems already.
