  • Hosting a big project started by Delta Shizu. Here's how she describes it:
    Hi, I am Delta Shizu, I am excited to share an exciting project I have been working on for quite some time. This video is a 1:1 narration by Yui Horie of chapter 61 of Nekomonogatari Shiro, Hanekawa's letter to Black Hanekawa. The audio is an extra on the Japanese release of the blu-ray, however it is just that, audio without visuals. A small portion of the chapter is included in episode 6 of Nekomonogatari Shiro, but a majority of the content is omitted and just included as an extra. This extra, however was not included in the English release of the blu-ray, and was therefore never officially released to English audiences. The goal of this project was to make visuals for the extra based on the text cards that appear throughout the series, as well as to translate it for English speaking viewers. The translation used is the official Vertical novel translation for Nekomonogatari Shiro, slightly modified to better match up with the original Japanese text. This is a project I started on November 10th of 2020, and finished exactly 1 year later, on November 10th of 2021, I hope everyone can enjoy this project as much as I have enjoyed working on it for the past year. It would not have been possible without the help of a great many people. Enjoy - Delta Shizu
    Valan: Taught me how to use aegisub in order to actually do this project.
    MCSteve: A late addition to the project, but a massive contributor nonetheless, a massive thanks for his help with proofing the Japanese that I cannot read or speak myself, converting Japanese to be the same as how SHAFT does archaic Japanese in the show.
    »sawa«, Polaris: Japanese proofing, corrections, converting original Japanese to archaic Japanese, and help with some of NISIOISIN's tough to translate sentences.
    Maxdefolsch: The reason I started this project in the first place, a huge motivator for me continuing to work on the project, quality control (Despite sleeping through the final checkover of the video).
    Wheelz: A massive help the whole way through this project, and one of my best friends.
    Delta Shizu (Me): Project lead.

    Neko Shiro is my fave arc in the series. I relate to Hanekawa so much and I literally cried listening to this. I’ve been there before (minus the aberrations), I know what it’s like to cut away your heart and live a saint-like life but always being unsettled by it because subconsciously you know something isn’t right.
    Learning to accept the dark parts of me was a huge step and took a lot of work.
    You should do this for the intro chapter to neko shiro as well. The anime cut out literally ALL of the good stuff she talks about in the first chapter.

    Awesome job with the video. Listening and remembering that, to Hanekawa's true feelings, kinda brings a tear to yer eye.

    archaic japanese? theyre only using the traditional kana spelling system thats still referenced in dictionaries yes?

    • @deltashizu9829
      @deltashizu9829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So for starters, everything is spelt using Katakana instead of Hiragana, but they also use an older form of kanji called Kyujitai. Some words also have a bit of a different spelling aside from that. Essentially they make it as complicated as they can.
