I'm crying listening to her, because I also wanted an elective c-section and wasn't listened to. My emergency c-section went wrong. I was eventually put under general anesthetic, but was in surgery for 5 hours. It's nearly 2 years on and I still have complications. I wanted my child to have a sibling but I can't ever have another pregnancy. I have no trust in maternity care. Thank you for sharing your story Louise, you are incredibly strong.
So sorry to hear Louise went through this terrible time. Very brave to share she has a stoma bag and her birth story. I had PTSD after childbirth and cancelled follow up appointments at the hospital, so understand Ryan's point of view. That was almost 12 years ago and I promise it gets better with time.
Us women are amazing! What we go through to bring life into the world is astonishing. The pain, suffering and risks involved is like any other. We need to be applauded more and respected. Good interview and I wish her all the very best. 🙏🏼⭐️🕯🌸
Thankyou for raising awareness Louise, i have an ileostomy as well from UC and i also have PTSD. The more we talk about it the greated understanding there will be
She is looking very healthy. She has a gorgeous little boy. Good on her to come through the other side of all the trauma, now looking peaceful and smiling. Good luck to them 💪
Watching this made me cry. What an unimaginably traumatising experience for Louise to have gone through, I really feel for her. Another example of how medical professionals so often don’t listen to or respect women. I have IBD and PTSD as well and it means a lot to hear her speaking openly about these things.
That was a genuinely lovely interview. Followed Louise throughout her whole journey, and as always shes an incredibly powerful, caring woman, but I also think credit to Lorraine for a genuinely empathetic and interesting interview. Thank you both
I feel terrible for her. To want something so bad and be left unable to really embrace that, for years. I really hope she’s ok. I don’t know much about her, only what I’ve read, but my heart goes out to her.
Brilliant interview, I feel after a traumatic first birth myself, more needs to be done in terms of advocacy for women’s rights in childbirth and the education of first time mothers around the potential dangers and choices they may have to make. It’s all well and good saying that care is patient lead but if women and fathers aren’t made aware of their choices in life threatening situations I feel that it is a big shortfall for the nhs. In my experience it was very basic and a big emphasis on positive thinking and doing everything naturally. This is not the reality for many women and you are sent in blind to the dangers and end up with trauma. Well done on highlighting this issue.❤
I work primarily with postpartum moms and newborns, and I’ve been saying this since before my training. It’s outrageous how little info women are given, and how heavily those gaslit about how safe and “natural” it is to give birth, but also, women MUST self advocate and research the dangers on their own. Death and pain are also natural, natural doesn’t negate suffering.
Yep i know what Louise is feeling. I had my daughter 19 years ago and still have nightmares on average 4 times a month of childbirth. I never had anymore children because i was completely terrified. Im very fortunate that my partner of 17 years, and who is 10 years younger than me, never put pressure on me to bave more children and give him a child of his own, which has also made me feel tremendously guilty. He is just one of those amazing people who is loving, understanding and kind and has been the best dad to my daughter and he says that is enough for him. ❤ to all women and their partners who have gone through these terrifying experiences.
Louise you are amazing. What you’ve been through is beyond imagination. To have a 3 hour operation and not be put to sleep is medical mismanagement in my opinion. All they can do in medicine and they put you through that. I don’t know why I’m shocked as I’ve had some horrendous experiences in hospital! Take care.
It is truly shocking and worrying how bad the healthcare in this country has gotten. It is becoming more and more dangerous for women to give birth. So many horrific birth stories where harm to the mother and/or baby could be avoided. I feel for this woman, I can’t imagine spending my first year as a mother dealing with this trauma and various health issues. It’s hard enough without all that 😥.
I'm not surprised so many women suffer from a depression or give up breastfeeding. The post natal care in this country simply doesn't exists. I had a long, traumatic assisted labour, stress and pain I had never experienced. They wanted to sign us out just a few hours after the labour. I understand a hospital is not a hotel but let the mum rest at least a little bit. If men was giving birth we would be living in a very different world today.
Exactly. Having children is one of those significant milestones in life. Women therefore should absolutely be allowed to rest. How can people expect a women to go through something so tiring and then expected to get up and go. The NHS is lacking is so many ways and I’ve always thought this is one of those. Imagine if the NHS could create a hotel? Just a thought.
So glad someone else wrote this.. love louise but loraine's interview style is awful. Doesnt feel organic or calming to listen to when it's a sensitive topic.. her responses are all generic babble yuck
This reminds me of a story from a farmer, he use to put a big bull to small heifers, problem was that the heifers couldn't calve properly because the calves were too big , in the end, you end up loosing cow and calf
I wanted an elective section I just knew that's what I needed for my birth and got told no no no and ended up having an emergency c section which has left horrible birth trauma memories in my mind.
Poor Louise, she had terrible care by the sounds of it while giving birth and she's not the only woman who has. Why is her story so familiar, it's not acceptable.
This is horrendous. I mean we are seeing more and more medical malpractice, medical gaslighting and subpar care it's awful. Went to A&E recently and it was enough to make you afraid of hospitals for life 🤦🏻♀️
Louise is so beautiful. I cannot believe she had to go through all that which was completely unavoidable. If those blasted doctors had listened and just given her a C section from the start. Louise and Ryan should sue them for £1M Love you Louise x
poor lass, no one should have to go through that horror, but now the kids gotta go through the trauma of life too, illnesses, slaving in a job they more than likely will hate, bullying, paying bills, worrying about money, and food and death. Life is a scam. We are brainwashed from birth.
It's reasonable that they should have picked up potential problems as a matter of routine care. I know lots of women who needed planned c sections for way less and they wouldn't have been put through what Louise was put through. Childbirth can be life threatening for many women and showing our support to those women, as women ourselves is important.
She’s still going through it and Lorraine is very insensitive with her questioning and general vibe like she’s actually not taking in what she’s saying. So INSENSITIVE
Lorraine’s voice irritates at the best of times ! Poor Louise didn’t stand a chance without her speaking over her 😡 why have guests on and talk for them ? I love Louise, don’t know her but she is really interesting to listen to and I wanted to hear her !! 😢
Argh will Lorainne ever shut up and let her speak! And she’s so condescending and full of generalising statements! And asking her about having more kids- how is she an interviewer?!
I don’t think so, at least not directly - Louise has Ulcerative Colitis which causes inflammation in the colon and can result in needing a stoma. There could certainly be an indirect link though (ie the stress and trauma of the birth could have caused a flare up of the UC).
Is it just me ]? I find Lorraine so annoying , that high pitched squeal ? I just want to mute when she comes on !!! Good for you Louise, brave gal , I admire your candour
I really wanted to hear her story but Lorraine wouldn’t shut up, that high pitch voice goes right through me
My thoughts too
They want you to go and purchase the book to read for yourself. No book author is going to give away to whole story on a show to promote the book
I thought the same! It was like she'd had too much coffee before the interview.
Lorraine's horrible. Nasty aggressive vibe always.
I'm crying listening to her, because I also wanted an elective c-section and wasn't listened to. My emergency c-section went wrong. Thank you for sharing your story Louise, you are incredibly strong.
So sorry to read that. I'm praying for you. God bless
So sorry to hear Louise went through this terrible time. Very brave to share she has a stoma bag and her birth story.

Great to raise awareness to share her issues with PTSD its so common , wishing her nothing but help and healing for the future x
You have been through it Louise, I hope everything goes better for you now and for the future for yourself, Ryan and your boy.
Louis is such a great example of someone who has overcome so much! So so inspiring
I agree, to come out stronger and expierence it all, wov so strong. ❤
Us women are amazing! What we go through to bring life into the world is astonishing. The pain, suffering and risks involved is like any other. We need to be applauded more and respected. Good interview and I wish her all the very best. 🙏🏼⭐️🕯🌸
We also need deserve better womens health before during and after not to mention later in life .
Awful that something so wonderful could become so traumatic - amazing how strong she is now and that she's overcome this.
Just incredible but also sharing her story. That’s so brave
Thankyou for raising awareness Louise, i have an ileostomy as well from UC and i also have PTSD. The more we talk about it the greated understanding there will be
Agree 🩷
Louise is so brave to share her story. She’s going to help so many people. Very strong woman.
She is looking very healthy. She has a gorgeous little boy. Good on her to come through the other side of all the trauma, now looking peaceful and smiling. Good luck to them 💪
Terrible sounds from Lorraine's voice box! Louise thank you for your honesty & highlighting your experience.
Cannot believe Lorraine asked Louse if she planning more children literally minutes after she said she had almost died during childbirth.
So ridiculous
very joslyn fox of her
So insensitive- I would not even ask a healthy woman bc you never know …
I expect she knew the questions in advance and wanted to explain as part of the impact of it all.
True
But I mean if she really did feel she wanted another at some point, she could get a surrogate
Watching this made me cry. What an unimaginably traumatising experience for Louise to have gone through, I really feel for her. Asking Louise about wanting more kids was insensitive. You can see that she has PSTD. Why would you do that, it’s painful for her …. Jeez
@@katjaxxx7353 I know. I was very surprised that Lorraine would even ask thar.
I feel terrible for her. To want something so bad and be left unable to really embrace that, for years. I really hope she’s ok. I don’t know much about her, only what I’ve read, but my heart goes out to her.

Well done on highlighting this issue.❤
I can’t believe she was awake and Ryan had to witness all - this is traumatic who allows that
I work primarily with postpartum moms and newborns, and I’ve been saying this since before my training. Everyone who was serious ill knows the feeling incl me …. Stay strong Luise -
You are helping a lot of people 🩷🩷
So sorry to hear Louise went through this, sending you much love ❤❤
I think you are incredibly brave to have a conversation about birth trauma.
I love Louise. I wish Louise and her family all the best ❤
❤❤❤

Wish Lorraine would know when to shut up and let her guests finish their sentence
Wishing you all the best, Louise .
❤❤❤
All the best Louise. ❤ A great interview to watch / listen to 😊
Wish you well Louise ,thankyou for being brave enough to talk about this trauma❤
Louise you are amazing. What you’ve been through is beyond imagination. To have a 3 hour operation and not be put to sleep is medical mismanagement in my opinion. Love her ❤ she is so brave
I am always amazed Lorraine has this job. She is really bad at interviewing, she doesn’t shut up and let her guests speak.
She really is the worst

Such a brave soul, wish her the best
So beautiful and so brave!
Lorraine🥴 cant bear her now. Dont know 🤷 how she won a award last week. Love Louise👌
So glad someone else wrote this.. love louise but loraine's interview style is awful. Doesnt feel organic or calming to listen to when it's a sensitive topic.. her responses are all generic babble yuck
😢I had a similar situation, not quite as severe or long but major bleeding and husband sent out of the room but I was still awake
What an amazing woman ❤
This reminds me of a story from a farmer, he use to put a big bull to small heifers, problem was that the heifers couldn't calve properly because the calves were too big , in the end, you end up loosing cow and calf
I wanted an elective section I just knew that's what I needed for my birth and got told no no no and ended up having an emergency c section which has left horrible birth trauma memories in my mind.
This is so horrific. It’s frightening just listening to her!!! Was this in an NHS hospital or private?
The interview needed a delicate touch. Please try to do it better, no shade…. Would love to have heard more from Louise 😊
want to give her a big hug
I feel like Lorraine is thinking about what she’s gonna have for her tea during all of her interviews. So disingenuous.
She should take legal action against the hospital
Was this the nhs or private
Curious if this was private healthcare birth or NHS?
Private wing within an NHS hospital.
Poor Louise, she had terrible care by the sounds of it while giving birth and she's not the only woman who has. Why is her story so familiar, it's not acceptable.
Is it just me or was Lorraine the worst interviewer in this situation???
Could have been softer more compassionate perhaps
Lorraine has very little interviewing skills.
I think she’s attempting to make it light and bright for a morning show
most of us will experience ptsd or c ptsd in life as humans...through shock or developmental trauma. you can heal it.
This is horrendous. I mean we are seeing more and more medical malpractice, medical gaslighting and subpar care it's awful. Went to A&E recently and it was enough to make you afraid of hospitals for life 🤦🏻♀️

This interviews the worst! How many times did she cut Louise off? Let her speak ffs
She’s still going through it and Lorraine is very insensitive with her questioning and general vibe like she’s actually not taking in what she’s saying. So INSENSITIVE
i can’t unsee fiona harvey now 😂
Was she 5 weeks in an NHS hospital?
Louise you’re a queen 👑❤️
Lorraine’s voice irritates at the best of times ! Poor Louise didn’t stand a chance without her speaking over her 😡 why have guests on and talk for them ? I love Louise, don’t know her but she is really interesting to listen to and I wanted to hear her !! 😢
Completely insensitive to ask if she's planning on having more children at this point.
🌹🙏🏻🌹
Argh will Lorainne ever shut up and let her speak! And she’s so condescending and full of generalising statements! And asking her about having more kids- how is she an interviewer?!
Wonder if she sued the hospital.
Are the stoma and the birth connected? I assume not.
I don’t think so, at least not directly - Louise has Ulcerative Colitis which causes inflammation in the colon and can result in needing a stoma. There could certainly be an indirect link though (ie the stress and trauma of the birth could have caused a flare up of the UC).
Oh god , I can’t
❤️❤️❤️😘
Is it just me ]? I find Lorraine so annoying , that high pitched squeal ? I just want to mute when she comes on !!! Good for you Louise, brave gal , I admire your candour
Sorry i dont understand the problem here
There's something that puts me off this woman.
Which woman? Louise or Lorraine??
This interviewer talks too much
This is like a broken record.... Im bored of seeing and hearing about Louise
ok ax
