Awesome video on the Vintage Air trouble shooting tips… Let’s see that ECU swap/install and get those “Chilly Breezes” happenin so you can get many more miles of smiles. Thanks for the shout out!
Jeff, if time allows to record the repair i’d very much like to see; I’m looking at Vintage Air for my Fairlane and any further knowledge only helps. Thanks!
Just glad it wasn't that fuse. Sure, it would have been an easy fix, but you would have looked a little silly. I, maybe would have tried the fuse fix before recording just in case. LOL Also, is the install on the wagons AC in the archive? I don't remember watching it.
1/ check refrigerant standing pressure R134a around 80psi 2/ power compressor up directly from battery 2a check compressor clutch / compressor pressures 3/ after checks is the refrigerant system ok or is it the electric supply causing problem ?????
I don’t care for the ECU style, give me a good ole trianary/binary switch and some basic controls. The only AC ECU system I liked was in the early 2000,s late 90’s on freightliners. Pretty basic and had leds you could diagnose with what was lit or flashing.
Great info on tracking down problems with the VintageAire system. Would love to see the ECU removal and replacement.
I would like to see the R&R. Not necessarily for the how-to with the ECU, but to learn about any wiring changes you make in the process.
