  • Looking at this unique hot rod you probably realize that the owner and builder of the awesome 1969 Chevy G10 Boogy Van powered by 850hp Blown 496 Big Block motor is no ordinary petrol head. Robert Cleland is also the owner of several more all Chevy powered rides and the Xtreme Xhaust shop located in Fairfield, California.
    The guy behind the Chevy Boogy Van is a proud Veteran from the USAF who feels very strongly about helping his fellow veterans in need. Supported by his family and colleagues from Xtreme Xhaust, Rob holds an annual charity car show with all proceeds going to local veteran’s groups.
    As no stranger to hot rods and classic muscle cars Rob has done some very interesting modifications to the 1969 Chevy G10 Boogy Van. You’ve already seen the 496 Big Block V8 mill topped with 8/71 Weiand blower fed by couple of Edelbrock carbs stuffed between the seats, but that’s not all.

      I saw this beauty and got to know Rob (awesome dude!) while we were showing next to each other at SEMA 2018 I had my Van next to him. We watched each others vans and told folks coming by all about his bad ass Boogy Van. For me this is the ultimate Gasser styled van straight of of the wacky racers style 60's hot wheels toys. Actually it should be made into a toy or model. @@HotAmericanCars

    • @HotAmericanCars
      @HotAmericanCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you build a hot rod out of it or just had some fun and let it go?

    • @InnercityHillbilly
      @InnercityHillbilly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HotAmericanCars- I bought it for $600 and it already had 327 in it. I built a 327 up some and painted it up like the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo. At the time I worked in the mail room at 1010 Techwood, and at CNN Center. I sold it to Cartoon Network for $15,000 because they said they were going to use it in a movie that they were getting ready to mate. Which was going to be the first live-action Scooby-Doo movie. They never used it in the movie. But they have used it in some parades here in Atlanta. I did a lot of modification to it, totaled up to 5 grand, give or take a couple of hundred. My next project after that was an old Camaro with an Oldsmobile seat no, a caddy 472, a Belair two speed Powerglide, and a Ford 10 inch. I literally flipped that off the track and blew up at Senoia Raceway back in the 90s. And yes that's the same Senoia where Pet Sematary, and fried green tomatoes was filmed. One of my best friends Worked Security on them.

      @@HotAmericanCars- I went a different direction. I started into a new culture that puts two words together that old-school guys like me don't think Belong Together. I've gotten into Japanese muscle. I have a bone-stock 04 Celica GT-s that'll keep up with a charger srt. It has every body mod that was made for it on it. It actually helps with high speed maneuvering. I've had a lot of cars in my life and most of them I didn't pay much for and ended up blowing them up. Slinging rods, dropping Transmissions out onto the ground, breaking frames jumping it. All sorts of crap. My last car was a Kia wagon and on the back window across the top it had a sticker that repeated "Build-it-race-it-wreck-it-build-it-race-it-wreck-it-build-it-race-it-wreck-it"

      @@HotAmericanCars well I like stuff like mustangs ,and camaros but the van is not something you see everyday. You can't help but wonder if you can take a shoebox on wheels ,and give it 800 horses it just proves that you can do anything with a car. Sky is the limit. Who knows what we will see next maybe a 60s cabover truck and give it over 1000 horsepower. Or even a old 30s sedan, and with the right tuning it could beat out stuff like corvettes, and vipers. All these are rushing through my head.
