GREG VAIL JAZZ AT CAMPUS JAX - David Sanborn Tribute Tenor Sax Saxophone feature Maputo

Maputo was the first Sanborn cover I ever learned. Back in the day, I opened for David and explained to him there was no way I was playing Alto on his stage - HE had the sound of pop alto for decades and I was going to play other saxes in my show. He was very sweet, but I insisted. In honor of that first meeting I decided to perform Maputo on Tenor and told that story. Love his sound and the deep library of awesome recordings he left us.
