Hey John. Thanks again for stopping by and checking out my Hitchcock collection. Easily my favourite edition in my collection and I had a fun time revisiting this set.
Thank you Keith for doing this one! I've been wanting to see it for a long time. What is great is that this set has 2 more movies than the Ultimate Edition I have. Now the fun part of finding this set!
Hey Nate. I'm doing my best to pick up the edition that you have. I think it will partner very well with this set. Hopefully it will work out for the both of us in the end. Thanks so much for stopping by and checking it out. Happy hunting my friend
Hi Keith, what a great video and thanks for doing the doing the unboxing of that fabulous Hitchcock box set. I’ve been looking forward to you doing that and it didn’t disappoint. I can understand how you love it so much and it is your favourite. It is immaculately put together and the presentation is second to none. I’m a huge Hitchcock fan and have all the films on the dvd box sets ,the two box sets released by Universal and the other box set released by Warner. I’ll be getting my hands soon on the new Psycho blu ray (that you reviewed as well ) so I’m looking forward to that . But we’ll done on acquiring that amazing box set ,
Hey Mike would I be right in saying that you were one of the people to recommend me showing this edition. I'm almost certain it was yourself. If so thank you so much for the motivation to do this. Like I said in the video it's the crown Jewel of my collection and it always will be and I think you can see why it is. I am a big Hitchcock fan and this set screams Alfred Hitchcock. I have that many Editions from him it's borderline scary and I'm hoping to get the other edition that looks similar to this one so I can partner it with this. Also great to hear that you picked up that psycho edition as well and I think you are going to love that Mike when you get in your hands. It's an absolute stunning release. Thanks again for stopping by and checking out this video my friend
@@millerman9991 Thanks Keith, yeah I made a recommendation early on as to what box set editions in your collection that you should do an unboxing on and mentioned the Hitchcock set as it blew me away. Yeah I’m looking forward to picking up the Psycho blu ray as well as the new Casablanca blu ray that you also reviewed . It’ll be a classic Christmas blu ray extravaganza, when I’ll be watching and sure I’ll even have a look at a few Marx Brothers films to top it off 😀👍
Talking about Christmas extravaganza. I've bought 5 Christmas movies on 4k and I'm waiting to get a bit closer to Christmas before watching them and it's killing me. Something's telling me I might buckle this weekend and watch them. I can be incredibly weak sometimes 😆 🤣
This is a stunning set. I was looking at this a good few years ago but was too expensive for me so picked up the Masterpiece Collection instead for around £65 which is also a stunning set. Was going to do a video for it myself earlier in the year but didn't get around to it
Hey Gareth. I'm actually trying to pick up that edition that you have because I think it would partner nicely with this set. Hopefully someday I can get it. Honestly I would love to see you do an unboxing of that masterpiece collection because I've never actually sat down and watch a video for it. Maybe one for the future. Thanks for stopping by Gareth
Hi Keith, I’ve only seen this once in the wild for sale, a second hand shop had it in the window for £80 but it was gone by the time I came back with the cash 😡 thanks for showing it mate, I’ve always wondered what it looked like inside the tins, this makes me what it even more now lol, take care mate👍😀👍
Hey Alan. It's a shame you missed out on this release because like I said in the video is probably one of my favourite pieces in my collection. Speaking of collections I actually watched your movie room tour yesterday and I meant to leave a comment but I was at work. I thought it looked absolutely extraordinary. It actually reminded me of my old setup and I miss it so much. I'm actually going to go over now and check out the rest of it.
I'm stunned they haven't mass produced this for Hitchcock's entire library. Maybe they could extend it to include some of the earlier ones like The Lodger, his 30's films that put him on the map in England towards Hollywood, and a lil more 40's. The aesthetic of seeing his films cased in reels/cans is immensely satisfying. What an appropriate theme and set for the Director's catalogue. Great review and subbed for more. Cheers from California!
Like I said in the video this edition screams Alfred Hitchcock. I would do anything to see some of his older movies done in the same way. Just have matching sets and have them all in film reels. I think you can understand why I said this is my favourite piece in my collection. You don't see anything like this anymore and it's a shame. Thank you so much for stopping by and of course for the sub. I really appreciate it
I think the problem is that it is near impossible for a complete set to be released all together. The rights are split between ITV Global and Studio Canal (for his earlier films), Universal, Warner Brothers, and Paramount for most of his later films. So it is unlikely that there will ever be a complete set by one distributor. The cost for securing the rights would be enormous.
Yeah there's no way it will ever happen. Like you said it would cost a fortune to secure the rights. But I suppose we can dream. Could you imagine how much it would cost if it did happen. That would probably be a dealer breaker as well
I was looking at this set but didn't get it because I didn't like how the discs were stores so I got the house of hitchcock set. Incredible collection by the way, your movie room is one of the best I've seen.
I'm actually keeping my eye out for the house of Hitchcock the one you have because I think it would look very well beside this. Hopefully someday I can pick it up. Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words. It's a collection I'm very proud of and hopefully I can build on it. All the best my friend
Thank you for showing the Afred Hitchcock box set. You have shown some of my favourite Alfred Hitchcock films like rear window and the Birds and the Man who knew to much witch is very good.
It was my absolute pleasure Malcolm and thank you so much for taking the time to check it out. Like I said in the video there is only 3 movies that I have not seen in this set and the Man Who Knew Too Much is one of them. I don't know too much about the movie if I'm completely honest and I will definitely check it out and hopefully very soon. Again thanks for checking out my Hitchcock collection
Hey Shaun. I have a feeling you might like this edition and hopefully now after seeing it you might get a better understanding to why I find it to be my favourite piece in my collection. I feel so fortunate to have it and thank you so much for checking it out
the only boxset i put into my living room. its gorgeous, packed with amazing movies. will update them all to 4k, next time the second 4k collection is on sale- great presentation keith!
It's easily my favourite edition in my collection and I won't blame u for displaying it in your living room. It deserves to be seen and thanks so much for stopping by and checking it out. I really appreciate it
Glad to see you revisiting this edition Keith, the Debs really likes this set as well 😁😁👍 the film reels make this set, plus you see them all the time and that aren't hidden away 👌 always good to see different companies in the set 👍👍 nice stuff in the envelope and I like to see letters sent to people, and you know Hitchcock would have read it 😁😁 great video Keith 👍👍
Hey John. Like I said in the video I could no longer ignore the comments requesting for me to unbox this and I have to admit I had a fun time revisiting this set. It's an incredibly classy looking set and it screams Alfred Hitchcock. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have this in my collection and to get it for such a low price is truly the cherry on top. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
Hi Keith, what a beautiful Hitchcock box set, you are very lucky to get hold of it, myself I've managed to get the House of Hitchcock box set 18 movies which is in the shape of rear window house, which is a limited edition plus it has collectable memorabilia, which like yours, art cards, movie poster, booklet and original letters. Keep up the good video's mate 👍 👌
Hey Ray. I seen that box that you have of the House of Hitchcock and I'm hoping someday to pick that up myself. I didn't realise there was 18 movies in it as well. There is another Hitchcock box set that's very similar to the one I've shown here and I'm looking to find that one as well. Anything to do with Hitchcock I will definitely pick up. As always Ray thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Hitchcock collection. I really appreciate it
I was waiting for your comment Mark because I had a feeling you were going to have this release as well. Like I said in the video easily my greatest edition in my collection. It screams Hitchcock and I feel so blessed to have it in my collection. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
I know we chatted before neighbor, I thought you were a Louth man (accent) if you remember, anyways I love the channel and never miss an upload Keith keep them coming
Fair play to you for having the discipline to keep that edition sealed because it's a stunning release. Just shy of £60 what an amazing place as well. Congrats on picking it up
I feel like one of those people who requested this, been waiting to see this set since I joined your channel. Great video as usual Keith. Funny enough I watch Vertigo for the first time today and in 4K. Looked absolutely stunning! Great film too.
Honestly I've had that many request for it I've lost count. It's great to get requests like that because like I said in the video in motivate you to do videos Like These. Great to hear vertigo looks fantastic in 4K and I'm hoping to get that sometime in the next month. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out and for your request
@@millerman9991 I couldn't imagine, lol. This would feel like a grail to me if I had it. Might show off a few of my own in a video or something. They all have looked great in 4K so far, can't say any bad things about the transfers. Well, you're my favorite channel on TH-cam so I'll continue to annoy you. 🤣
I can tell you if you have some grail items in your collection make sure you do some videos on it because it's a great way to get your channel discovered. That's exactly how I started mine. By the way thank you for the incredibly kind words and trust me when I say you could never annoy me. I appreciate your support
@@millerman9991 Thanks for the advice, I do have a few, I'm happy with them but my wallet isn't, ha. Just noticed you subscribed to my channel, thank you so much! Everything I said in my previous comment is 100% true, love your channel. Think you're one of the most charismatic people on TH-cam and that's not easy.
I don't know why but I just automatically assumed I was subscribe to you and I was just checking it out and I realised I wasn't so a massive apology there. No need to thank me for the advice it's the least I can do and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Thanks again for the incredibly kind and supportive words. Really does mean a lot to me. I don't think you realise how much. Keep the videos coming my friend
That is a magnificent collection Keith. I love how they put them in film reels. I was surprised to know Vertigo is your favourite, I thought it would be Psycho. Mine is The Birds, The Rear Window, and Psycho which I have. Hitchcock set the standards when it came to suspence, he was ahead of his time and a master of his art. Great video Keith, and like most of your viewers I'm also looking over your shoulder looking at your masterpieces.
Hey Gary. Yes vertigo was always my favourite Alfred Hitchcock movie. To be honest I loved that time in his career. Where you have vertigo Psycho and The Birds all fantastic movies and it is hard to pick between the three. But there's something about vertigo that I just love and it always stuck with me. As for the edition itself like I said in the video it's my crown Jewel of my collection and it always will be. I was always looking for an excuse to revisit this set and I have to admit I really enjoyed doing this video. So thanks again Gary for stopping by and checking it out. I had a feeling you might like this one
@@millerman9991 You know me Keith, we have very similar taste in movies, what is it they say, great minds think alike. Maybe one day, you will do a review of my movie, if it ever gets made.
@@millerman9991 fantastic set Keith , my late mother intermediate as a child to Hitchcock , the late Grace Kelly ,visited Westport and surrounding areas many times , it was her ancestral home !
What a great set! I was actually hoping for a few words on each movie from you - guess you have to put up a third video on the set 🙃 I am still looking for the ultimate Hitchcock set, though. There are always some very important films missing from these collections (probably because of licensing issues). I am talking about absolute classics like Notorious or Rebecca (the only Hitchcock that won a Best Picture Oscar) that fit alongside the greats like Psycho, North By Northwest and Rear Window.
Unfortunately if I started talking about each movie the video just would've went on for far too long. There is also three movies inside this set that I have not seen. Yeah I'm sure it's licencing reasons to why notorious and Rebecca were not featured in this set. Of course there's only so many movies you can put into it as well. Hopefully someday we might get a complete Hitchcock collection. I can't see it happening but I suppose we can dream
I have an unopened boxset, still wrapped in plastic. Does anyone have any advice on the best place to sell it? This video made me realise it could make someone much happier than it makes the shelf in my cupboard....
Damn that's nice. I wish there weren't so many different releases. The standard "Ultimate" edition excludes "To Catch a Thief" but includes 10 episodes of TV shows.
The Hitchcock collection kind of reminds me of the Harry Potter collection. There is far too many variants of them out there and I think they should call it a day with them. In my honest opinion this is the best Hitchcock collection you could own and I feel so fortunate to have it. Thank you so much for checking it out
I cannot believe something like this exists, its a dream come true. Stunning keith, it really is, and that price!,, the famous luck of the irish isnt just a cliche 😀👍
Like I said in the video I'm still pinching myself that a release like this exists. If screams Alfred Hitchcock and I feel so incredibly fortunate to own it. I would love to tell you that happens to me a lot when it comes to prices but unfortunately it never does. I was very lucky with this one though and thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
@@millerman9991 thanks to you for sharing such a fantastic find with the rest of us, but you have to watch the man who knew too much, one of hitchs best
I promise you I will watch it as soon as I have some time. That's the problem when you have a TH-cam channel there is so much to watch and so little time. But I will check it out
That is such a simple but classy set, nice story on the price as well, I just got the first 4k box set for 50 euro, like you I will wait till the price comes down, I used to love his films growing up, a few there I have yet to see (shame on you rte), what a set....
It's an incredibly classy set and I honestly think it's screams Alfred Hitchcock. I didn't realise the 4K boxset was down to €50. I might actually go over now and pick that up. Thanks again Colum for stopping by and checking out my Hitchcock collection. I really appreciate it
Whatever it is with me I never think to check adverts. I hear about so many people picking up amazing deals on that website and I never think to go on it. Thanks for the heads up Colum
I have the 4K volume 1&2 beautiful restorations. My favorite is the Trouble With Harry. The picture is stunning Technicolor & Vista vision. The HDR is awesome. 👍👍🎥🎬🍿
I'm hoping to pick up both Editions very very soon and I've heard nothing but great things about them. If Psycho is anything to go by I know I'm in for a treat whenever I do get around to getting them. Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my Hitchcock collection
Pretty epic collectors set. Like the film tins, but I hear on forums that many have got them dented brand new out of the box. Just 37 more films to go for a complete set. I have managed to get all 53 them (that still exist) but it definitely wasn't easy, or cheap. Went the extra mile and got the 4k editions of those that have been released in 4k, all separately because the packaging for the multiple 4k sets suck big time and doesn't properly protect the disks. Expensive but still worth every penny. Next: the series. Too bad those still haven't been released to Blu-ray and probably won't be.
I would have been devastated if any of them came dented. Like I said in the video it's the crown Jewel of my collection and I never want anything to happen to it. I have that many variants of the Alfred Hitchcock collection it's borderline frightening at the moment. Just like yourself I would rather buy the 4K releases separately instead of those god awful box sets. I never liked them the minute I seen them. It's very similar to the recent Star Trek movies on 4k. I would rather buy them individually as well instead of getting them in those horrible box sets. You think they would put a bit more effort in particularly when it comes to Alfred Hitchcock
Hey Keith I love that they're housed in film reels and it's definitely the best set of Hitchcock that will ever be released. Do you think if you got some of his 4 film 4k sets at a good price that you'd replace the discs in the reels with the 4k ones?
Like I said in the video Steve this is the definitive edition when it comes to the Hitchcock movies. I don't think you will ever see a nicer edition from him. I can never break up a collection so no I will not be trading the 4K discs with the Blu-rays. I've tried so many times to do that but the collector in me will not let me.
I have the Universal hardback book set, which contains all of these disks except To Catch A Thief and NxNW (from Paramount and WB, as you mentioned). The book itself looks excellent, but it's one of those where you slide disks into card pages, surely the worst packaging for disk maintenance. I too had wondered what this boxset was like. It's pretty much what you'd expect, but it's nevertheless a lovely set. I like that it takes a little effort to retrieve each disk - I'm sure vinyl collectors feel the same way.
Hey Daniel. I actually have my eye out for the edition that you have as well because I would love to partner it with this edition. I think it looks great and hopefully someday I can pick it up. I know what you mean when it comes to the discs themselves and I'm not a big fan of it myself. Hopefully nothing has happened to them since you've had the Set. I find that if you don't mess with them so much they should be ok. I have a Friday the 13th collection that's done similar to your edition and nothing has happened to the discs as of now and hopefully it never will. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
Thanks for doing this video. I was going to ask you to do it as well! I have looked around and the set is available on eBay for substantially more money than you paid for it. I would like to own it as well but it's Region B and I don't have a Region Free bluray player...yet. Although I hope to get one so I can get some of the European releases. PS. The Man who knew too Much is a remake of an earlier film that Hitchcock himself made when he was in England. A comparison of the two would make a great video, if you can get a copy of the 1934 film. Thanks again, am enjoying the heck out of your videos.
Hey Joe. This was a video I was asked so many times to do and it was great to finally get around to doing it. The only issue I had with the video itself is I would have liked to talk a bit more about the movies themselves but the video would have went on for far too long. It is stunning looking at Edition and it's the Crown Jewel of my collection and I'm not one bit surprised to hear that they are going for crazy money on eBay. There's not many of them out there. I actually have the original movie of the Man Who Knew Too Much and maybe some day I might look into actually doing a comparison and see how they both stack up against each other. Thanks again Joe for stopping by. I really appreciate it my friend
Hey Gary. I keep forgetting that was his last movie and I really need to watch it whenever I get a chance to. I've heard great things about it. He was so unbelievably consistent till the end
Hey Keith that's an amazing set! I have the masterpiece collection which is a nice one with the book inside the plastic box but not a patch on the one you have! Are you gonna swap the Blu-ray's for the 4ks? I'm thinking of doing it myself as the first two volumes on the Hitchcock classics is a bit underwhelming. We have Vertigo as our favourite! You need to get the 4k it will blow your mind. One of the best quality transfers in my collection. Probably because it was shot in VistaVision. Keep up the great videos! You're a legend!
Hey Peter. Believe it or not but I'm trying my best to get the edition that you own of the Hitchcock collection. I think it would partner very well with this release and I don't think I could change the discs out for the 4K releases because as much as I would love to do that I can never dismantle a collection. The collector in me just won't let me do it unfortunately. Honestly I cannot wait to see vertigo in 4K and I'm sure I will pick it up very very soon. If it looks anyway as good as psycho I know I'm going to be in for a treat. Thank you so much Peter for taking the time to check out my Hitchcock collection and of course for the incredibly kind words. I really appreciate your support my friend
@@millerman9991 I totally understand what you're saying. I've only did it once with the 4k of Touch of Evil. It came with all 3 versions so I sold the preview and theatrical cut on eBay and put the 4k in the lovely masters of cinema release I have. But I know what you're saying as I still have some foreign imports not in English and was thinking of making custom artwork but decided to keep things as they are. Planes Trains and Automobiles coming next week. Early reviews are not great but I'm gonna keep my pre-order. Surely it has to be an improvement over the last Blu-ray 🙏
As far as I remember the Blu-ray edition of Planes Trains and Automobiles was DNR to death. I really hope that hasn't carry over onto the 4K release. I haven't read anything myself and I'm not going to cancel my pre-order either. The movie itself is worth the Gamble and even if it's a minor upgrade over that Blu-ray it's still an upgrade in my eyes
That's why I said I was happy to see North by northwest as well in this collection because that movie sometimes get ignored in a few of the Hitchcock collections ive seen before. I actually have a 3D version of dial M for Murder and it was very immersive it has to be said
@@millerman9991 I have the Bluray 'book' version of this but have had to add 'Strangers On A Train,' 'Thief' and 'M' to mine. Still, jealous of your set!
I have something similar to this here in the states, but it has UK ratings logos...and yet plays as region A. It includes all titles except "North by Northwest," which I found separately. It's a book-type affair with those irritating cardboard slips that can scratch discs if something goes wrong.
I have to admit I love that edition you are talking about and as a matter of fact I'm actually trying to get it to pair with this edition. I know what you mean though when it comes to the cardboard slips. You do have to be so careful with them and I wished they would come up with a better system when it comes to housing discs like that.
@@millerman9991 I believe theres 26 films over 10 blu rays, I think theres an extra 2 which are alternate cuts as well. 28 films total unless im mistaken
@@millerman9991 thank you so much. Love your videos keep up the great work. May I ask for one thing I live in the usa if you could put the price for the usa in your videos thank you so much
I really appreciate that and the only reason why I don't put the dollar value into my videos is because sometimes I don't know what it is. I will of course add it in if I can
Hey Keith, that Hitchcock set is completely jaw dropping and I'm not surprised it's your most treasured piece. I'm very stunned you have never watched Marnie! Honestly Marnie is so good that I upgraded the dvd I've had for ages to the imported 4K of the film. I know you'll really enjoy it. I'm so sorry my friend, I've not been able to get to the post office to send your packages as I can't stand my foot being in my footwear. I promise you that as soon as I'm able to I'll send you what I've promised you (& Ellen, wink wink < if you are Ellen reading this you're very naughty and you are hereby ordered to forget what you've just read 🤣🤣🤣> PHEW! that was close 😁😁😁).
Hey Jeff. Yes I never watched Marnie yet and I'm not quite sure why I haven't seen it because like I said I've watched nearly everything else in the set. I never knew there was a 4K release for it but I will try and Hunt it down and check it out. I trust your opinion my friend. Do not apologise Jeff honestly take as much time as you need. All I really care about is for yourself to get better. I know Ellen's going to love what you sent her and I can guarantee you she's reading this comment as well. So I'll try to be good and not say anything else. Thanks again Jeff and please look after yourself my friend
Honestly Jeff we are doing great. I know things might get a little harder as Christmas gets closer but we are doing very well. We love this time of year and we are taking it all in our stride at the moment.
I have been to get for awhile but there is another version I want. They did a couple similar. There is one version that has the same bottom, and a similar case, but the movies are not housed in film canisters. I saw 2 versions of the other. One for the Birds, with a back art display of birds and the other was a Vertigo version with Vertigo art on the back. I want the Birds version. The art is gorgeous. I think it displays better and otherwise is the same as far as what comes with it.
That other edition that you are talking about that's very similar to this one I'm actually trying my best to get it. I think it will partner very nicely with this set and hopefully someday I can get it. I never came across the editions you are talking about with the birds and vertigo. Will definitely go online and check it out. Thank you so much for the heads up
Honestly Mike even to this day I don't know how I got it for £65 and like I said in the video it's probably why it's one of my favourite editions. It's one thing to get probably one of them nicest looking Editions you will ever likely to see but to get it at that price is something truly amazing. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
Amazing Keith 😍.....the design of this collection is perfect for the time period and really give a vintage feel.... Just had a quick look on Amazon Germany for this.... going for €350 now🫣 thanks for sharing
Wow it's going for €350 and to think I got it for £65. I got very lucky with this release Roy because I can tell you that never happens to me. I think you can understand now why this is my favourite edition in my collection. It reeks of class and it screams Alfred Hitchcock. Had a great time revisiting this set and thank you so much for taking the time to check it out
I'm still a big Frenzy fan. Hitchcock's later output, Family Plot and Torn Curtain seem to shrink into insignificance with Frenzy, though both Curtain and Plot deal with two different human conditions. It seems Frenzy has all the components, except for espionage, that Hitchcock applied to Frenzy. I find the film very edgy, probably more so than Psycho. Plus you have the incredible camera sequence with the camera moving in and out of the house, supervised by Gil Taylor. Frenzy deserves far more attention for its grizzly attention to detail, and what you don't see. Considering Hitchcock came back to Britain to 'close the circle' with his earlier works, Frenzy remains his most underrated of films, and his last. Plus you have a almost triumphant Ron Goodwin score at the beginning.
I've been meaning to say this to you for a long time but why do you not have a TH-cam channel. Your knowledge on movies is extraordinary and the way you describe everything is just so pleasant to read. I really do think you have a knack for this and you should definitely consider someday joining the TH-cam Family. I can see you doing incredibly well. I'm a big fan of Frenzy myself and I completely agree with you when you said its one of his most underrated movies. I'm hoping there will be a volume 3 for his 4K movies and fingers crossed that movie will be on it. I still haven't gotten around to watching family plot yet and torn curtain I have seen but wow it's been a long time. I have to admit I'm a little intrigued now and I think I'm going to try and revisit these movies very soon. As always thank you so much for your unbelievable support and please do consider starting a TH-cam channel. I think it's something you will excel at.
@@millerman9991 Cheers Keith. Most of my knowledge comes from reading autobiographical accounts and many articles about filmmaking. I did attended Film School in the UK for a short time, but life got in the way, and dropped out. I've amassed a large collection of autobiographies overtime, mainly about producer's and certain directors, plus a few about studio executives. I suppose I do like the inner workings of the film industry more, but discussing it can be complicated, and condensing a certain subject down can be a struggle. The reason why I have no You Tube channel is because of my work life. I work at home, and often don't have the time to commit myself fully to a You Tube Channel. My office at home looks like a junk yard. Paper everywhere, and no order to anything. Sounds crazy, but that's just me. My wife has an ordered life, I don't. I've never been very organisational Keith to be honest. If you were to see my office, you'd say Jesus! How the bloody hell does that guy function.... One of the pleasures of being on the streams, and listening to your YT video's is your personal knowledge of Blu Ray's and transfers of films. If you want to know the truth. I am crap at knowing the blues and darks, and what looks good on the screen. I think Keith you've got more knowledge about the technicalities of this medium than me. So, you are like bridge. Connecting these two elements as one. I'm up sometimes late, working until the early hrs, so I get knackered. But maybe one day I might consider a You Tube Channel. You have to commit yourself, and deliver content. That commitment to your viewers and subscribers is important obviously. Keep up the good work Keith. It's always nice to see you on the streams and on here. At least I look fwd to your thoughts on physical media. Cheers.
I completely understand. Life comes first and everything else comes after. I would love to tell you that TH-cam doesn't take up much of my time but it does and It can be hard at times aswell trying to maintain a channel. You always try to find the best way to simplify things but you don't want to go to Simple. Honestly I would do anything to be able to take your knowledge of movies in general and splice it with my knowledge of the technical side of transfers. I think that would make one great TH-cam channel. Like you said maybe someday and I look forward to that day if it does happen. Looking forward to seeing you on Pete stream this Wednesday. This is going to be a great one because John over at Mondo Chelloveck Movies is going to be on with me. It's the first time the two of us are on a stream together that we didn't host. Really looking forward to it
No disrespect but I am not a huge fan of this set, as far as packaging goes; tin canisters made to look like film cannisters. Creative, yes, but not great. I'd have preferred a simple digibook(standard Bluray) with the extra envelope included. The postcards are exceptionally nice. I did like the mansion set, with the lenticular art. . Love Rope and Rear Window.
I absolutely respect what you're saying David. Me personally I think this screams Alfred Hitchcock and it is my prized possession in my collection and it always will be. I love everything about this set especially the way it displays. I would love to see the rest of his movies come out in a similar boxset. The lenticular mansion set that you are talking about the problem I have with that is you will eventually see nothing but shelfware on that in time and to be honest I think it looks very cheap. But again that's just my opinion
@@millerman9991 shelf wear; a good and wise point. From a durability standpoint, your set wins. I did not think of that. ❤❤ On further thought, and second viewing, I am inclined to agree with you, aesthetic wise, that your set is quite nice.
I've had that set for almost 5 years now and it's still looks like it did from the first day I bought it. I think that's the beauty of that edition. I never have to worry about it
@@millerman9991 sweet. Glad to hear it, truly. One question, are there holding pegs, or whatever they're called, in each cannister, so the discs sit securely? Even on two views, I can't tell. ❤
What a stunning Boxset and great intro to this video too! 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow that's very kind of u to say Cheekster. I really appreciate it
Hi Keith,
I absolutely love this set and a great director! as always thanks for sharing ;)
Beautiful box set. It sets a very high bar for all other collections.
That's why it's my favourite edition in my collection. I don't think I will ever change my mind on that one
@@millerman9991 thanks mate, coming from you, than means a lot, there’s still a fair bit of work to do in the room👍😀👍
Holy shit Keith that has to be the Best Blu ray collection I’ve ever seen 😲 Hitchcock is probably the greatest film maker ever😎😎😎
Hey Shaun. I have a feeling you might like this edition and hopefully now after seeing it you might get a better understanding to why I find it to be my favourite piece in my collection. I feel so fortunate to have it and thank you so much for checking it out
Beautiful collection. Love the film reel look. Thank you for the video.
Hey Joe. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my Hitchcock collection. I really do appreciate that. All the best
the only boxset i put into my living room. its gorgeous, packed with amazing movies. will update them all to 4k, next time the second 4k collection is on sale- great presentation keith!
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
@Euphoria Pictures I can see it's getting a lot of attention and it's great to watch you revisit it again 🤩🤩👍👍
Yes I'm surprised how well it's done at the moment considering how old the set is. Hopefully it will continue
Wow that's a fabulous edition Keith, thanks for sharing it with us 👍
Thank you John for taking the time to check it out. Like I said it's my crown Jewel of my collection and it always will be. All the best my friend
@@millerman9991 No worries Keith 👌
I really appreciate it
im lucky enough to have this too, exquisitely presented and cracking bluray quality, a must have definitely
I was waiting for your comment Mark because I had a feeling you were going to have this release as well. Like I said in the video easily my greatest edition in my collection. It screams Hitchcock and I feel so blessed to have it in my collection. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out

Wow that's unbelievably kind of you to say Patrick and thank you so much for such incredible support. I really do appreciate it my friend.
I have this set, think I got it on offer…still sealed after all these years, great vid.
Just checked my zavvi history, I paid £58.49 in 2014
Fair play to you for having the discipline to keep that edition sealed because it's a stunning release.

What a great set ! And video 💪💪, fantastic!
As always Conor thank you so much for taking the time to check it out. It's the crown Jewel of my collection and I feel so fortunate to have it
@@millerman9991 fantastic set Keith , my late mother intermediate as a child to Hitchcock , the late Grace Kelly ,visited Westport and surrounding areas many times , it was her ancestral home !
But I will check it out
Does the collection have special commentaries on each film disc?
No unfortunately they don't. I think it's only on a select few.
I really appreciate it
I got it on adverts, the red set is still €90 and the blue is €120, worth waiting for..
Whatever it is with me I never think to check adverts. I hear about so many people picking up amazing deals on that website and I never think to go on it. Thanks for the heads up Colum
Awesome set Keith, thanks
Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out Jason. I really appreciate it
I have the 4K volume 1&2 beautiful restorations.
@@millerman9991 that is a great set Keith. I like to see editions like that they truly care about the physical release of these movies 👍🎥🎬📀📀📽📽
I couldn't agree more with you. U can clearly see that a lot of love went into this edition and it's great to see.
Lovely collection keith
Thanks again Simon for stopping by and check it out
Hey Keith I love that they're housed in film reels and it's definitely the best set of Hitchcock that will ever be released.
Family Plot is an awesome Hitchcock film! A great sendoff for a filmmaker with very few peers
I can see why you love this set soooooo much.👍♥️
It really is a classy looking set and it will always be my favourite edition in my collection. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out
Sadly, these latter half of Hitch's career sets are always missing 'To Catch A Thief' and 'Dial M for Murder' so it's nice to see 'Thief' here!
I completely forgot about strangers on a train. That's actually Another Movie I really need to pick up from him.
@@millerman9991 Since it's from 1951, I consider it part of the latter-half of his career and belonging with these we've discussed.
Thats an unreal boxset Keith. Just a heads up theres a Micheal J Murphy boxset on Amazon limited to 6000 units. Might be worth a look
Would I be right in saying that is the indicator boxset that's coming out in December.
@@millerman9991 Youd be dead right, came across it last night and I had to pre order. Seems like great value for money

Thank you so much for the heads up
hi Keith. It must be one of the best looking box sets around for £65 it’s a snip
Really looking forward to it
I remember seeing a dvd version years ago and on vhs should have collected it
I actually still have that amazing DVD collection you are talking about. I don't think I could ever part with any of my Hitchcock collection
Nice 1 bro
Thank you so much Ryan for checking it out
great video as all way
Your an absolute gentleman Danny. Thanks for stopping by my friend
Psycho Is The Classic Slasher
Huge fan of it myself. Hitchcock has made so many classics
I have the 4K-Steelbook of Psycho in my collection, but I don’t watched it so far…
Hey Martin. Honestly checkout psycho on 4k. You will be blown away by it. I promise you
@@millerman9991 hey Keith thanks, I will do it in the next weeks.
I have the binder set in a plastic case.
That edition that you have Mark is one I would like to get sometime in the future aswell. I think it would partner very well with this release.
@@millerman9991 definitely it’s got a crack but was only £50
I’m want that Alien head
It's one of my favourite pieces Mike. That was a hard one to get
Hope ya doing well my friend
All is great Ryan and thank you so much for asking. I hope you're doing well yourself
@@millerman9991 yeah all brother hmv just done a hmv exclusive on Austin powers I picked up looks good have u seen it
@@millerman9991 been ok u know 👍🏻
No I've never seen that Austin Powers HMV exclusive. I will check it out when I have a chance to
@@millerman9991 comes with a lovely poster bro and art cards and it’s got a wicked 60s look about it 👌🏻
No disrespect but I am not a huge fan of this set, as far as packaging goes; tin canisters made to look like film cannisters.
It's just a lump of foam under the discs. They sit in very nicely I have to admit. There's not a single mark on the discs
Very posh release.
Thanks for checking it out
ultimate collection bluray way cheaper, has 15 movies and 10 tv episodes
I think this edition has 16 movies but definitely no episodes.
which collection is it? Can't find it.
As far as I'm aware of it's probably a very standard release. I could be wrong though
