Be careful with the "cool" restaurants that add "spice" to the dishes but they divert from the true dishes. Argentine cuisine is relatively simple, therefore the quality of the ingredients and the ability of the cook are most important. There is no way to hide a badly made asado which is only meat, salt and a good handling of the grill. Avocado (palta in Argentina) toast has nothing to do with Argentine cuisine.
Argentine Cuisin is a mixture of countryside dishes (asado (grilled meat), empanadas), aboriginal cuisine (locro), Italian cuisine (pasta, pizza, milanesa (cottoleta alla milanese=breaded meat), saussages), Spanish cuisine (paella, tortilla, churros, morcillas -blood saussage-, lentils). But we also have bread like France, rolls like the Vienese Pastries, and an evolution of all these dishes.
There are many flavours of empanadas and they may be cooked in the oven or fried. The flagship is the meat one, but it has different recipes that come from different provinces of Argentina. The ones from Tucuman, Salta, Santiago del Estero and Cuyo (San Juan, San Luis and Mendoza) all have different ingredients added to base of ground meat. They may have olives, raisins (Ugh!), egg, even potato. The other traditional flavours are ham and cheese, chicken, humita (sweet corn). There are specialized shops that only sell empanadas. Some have new "cool" flavours, like cheese-burger, or other creative recipes.

pro tip to read menus in argentina:
tostado usually refers to a toasted ham/cheese sandwich (or whatever).
tostada usually referst to, in this case, an advocado toast, but could be on the sweet side also.
the difference is that "tostado" is talking about a whole thing..in this case, a sandwich; while "tostada" refers just that piece of bread, which is a toast.

Oh wow you just taught me so much thank you!!! I had no idea that tostado and tostada are two different things and that they’re sometimes sweet! See, these are the tips that a translator app can never explain only a local can thanks again!!!

@@PRINCESSCHRISTY hola Christy. Un desayuno clásico argentino es un buen CAFÉ CON LECHE Y MEDIALUNAS DULCES DE MANTECA O DE GRASA. 🤤🤤🤤

Hi Daniela it makes me so happy that my videos can be a resource for you as you prepare to come here too!! That’s exactly my goal 🥹😍 You’re going to love it here in Summer it’s going to be hot so bring sunscreen and bug spray! I use the DJI pocket 2 camera it’s so tiny and discreet plus the face tracker feature and mic are so useful! I also use my iPhone to record when I don’t have a camera with me. My favorite camera to record my travel vlogs on is my GoPro Black 9 it’s the perfect travel camera! It’s durable, 4K, and on “super view mode” the views are spectacular it makes you feel like you’re actually there when watching the video, (plus I got a used one for only $60 on Facebook market place that price is unbeatable)! At the bottom of all my videos I put what camera I’m recording on that day so you can see the different footage styles that come from each camera

    • @PRINCESSCHRISTY

Hey Chine that’s a great question. I usually stay in each country for at least two weeks but in Thailand I stayed for two months and in Argentina which is where I’m renting now I’m staying for 6 months. Each country has different visa lengths usually the shortest visas are good for 30 days. In Argentina for example the visa is free and good for 3 months. Another example is in Thailand the visa is free and good for 30 days. What I do when I want to visit a new country is google “visa requirements for Americans in _ country”. If you ever want to stay in a country longer than the visa is good for you can leave the country for 72 hours then go back for another free visa or you can pay a small fee to extend your visa 🌎🤍🦋✨
