That Swollen Pickle sounds absolutely killer, and the versatility is great too! The moment that thing came in, my ears immediately perked up. It wasn't until the Keeley Fuzz Bender came in right at the end that I felt like there was a real competitor for awesome tone. However, the Swollen Pickle's versatility put the final nail in the coffin. Can't blame Rabea one bit for preferring it. I'd love to see one on his board and find out if it dethrones some of his old favorites or not.

He never let the Benson light get to green. It’s got an internal thermostat that turns the led green when the germanium is at the right temp. Lame. Benson never even had a chance due to Lee’s lack of understanding. The captain just turns knobs without any clue as to what he’s doing. This has bothered me with Anderton’s demos for years.

Considering that the FZ-1w costs about 4 times more than the matcha cream it did a REALLY good job imo. Im definetely keeping an eye on that one

Hardly played for any length of time on the EHX Nano Big Muff. Seems like that pedal was slighted prematurely without hearing more settings.

My fave was the Greuter. How it got swapped out for the JHS is beyond me. Next to that is the Boss FZ-1W, imo. The Way Huge is great if you like a deep, doomy fuzz. I also really liked the Benson.

My favs through this are the Swollen Pickle, FZ1 and the first Big Muff. A couple of these I wouldn’t mind trying. My favorite fuzz is the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh.

I would have loved to see a Behringer Super Fuzz thrown in. I bought one on a whim and for a lark many years ago. So many pedals have come and gone from my collection, somehow this cheap little orange, plastic thing keeps me interested! I use it all the time.

That's a Boss clone. Have you tried the trick where you put the switch halfway between the two modes? It blends them both, best sound ever

I used to HATE fuzz pedals! Just couldn't stand the way they sounded. Then, one day, something clicked and it has become my favorite pedal! So many really good ones out there. I'm currently loving my King Tone Minifuzz v.2

Not surprised. I've been preaching the FZ-1W to people since I got my hands on it. I hear people trash it, but it's nearly the perfect fuzz for my ear.

I had the Way Huge Swollen Pickle about 14 years ago and tried my best to like it but I couldn't get the sounds I was after. I was very new to fuzz at the time however and I have a feeling if I had revisted it I'd feel differently today. I used too much gain back in the day with my amp.

I really want an FZ-1W. I have the JHS Series 3 fuzz, but the one I use most is the Behringer Super Fuzz. It’s very versatile and FUN.

The Swollen Pickle has a ton of volume, at that level I think you are hearing a lot of the amp's distortion also

I've been using a triangle Muff for so long that I forgot what the regular one is like. I still prefer the triangle. I'm not the biggest Fuzz fan in general. I rarely use them actually as a Fuzz, except for Fuzz face here and there. I run through a couple amps with various ODs for the lead tone for my Strat. For YEARS my lead tone was a triangle Muff, with a (initially) a TS808 with the gain completely rolled off and the volume set just a hair over unity, making it essentially an EQ into the front. It makes it sound like running through a dimed British stack. Later I started using an EQ with the mid-range pushed up after the muff, and something set flat, or sometimes a slight scoop into the front. Pretty much anything running into the front opens it up.
I use the Fuzz Face mostly for a clean tone, rolling the guitar volume down. The clean is REALLY clean, with a glassy and sparkly top end.
I can't stand the spitty, sputtering sound so many like. They sound so unmusical to be ears.

I love my swollen pickle, I like to also use it like Trent Reznor did on the fragile, just direct in to amp DI or desk with no speaker cab. Sometimes a wah before it really brightens and tightens it up.

Absolutely love the sound of that Way Huge. For fuzz, I can't get past my Prescription Electronics Experience, although it's very based on one part cascading into the others for it's crazier sounds.
I'm pretty sure Rabea was wanting a more high-gain smooth distortion from all the pedals. All the way through, it seems he was discounting all the others from less gain and tube-like smoothness, but that is exactly what the video was about - personal preference. JHS, FZ-1w and the SIlktone all sounded beautiful to me :)
