I've always been there to give my love unconditionally and did what it took to make sure my step daughters had a consistent and reliable adult in their life. Making sure they felt safe and that often meant bearing the brunt of a triggered partner whose life before me had been a revolving door of abusive cycles. I took it and took it and took some more. Better me than them and protecting two young girls was the only thing that matteted for over a decade. When they left so did I. I had to but the girls haven't forgotten. They live with their father now in another state, but they still send me messages telling me how much they love me and miss me and just want me to be happy . I miss them so much but our bond is forever. I finally can take a breath and think about what my life's going to look like now.
My Dad worked three jobs when my brother, sister, and I were young. I had no idea what he was going through at that time. It hit me hard in my middle twenties when I realized his sacrifices. I always loved him, but my love and respect for him grew as I matured and became a man. He's since passed, and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him and the role model he was. Beautiful song that makes me think and feel. In fact this might be my favorite from Dax.

This made me cry, and I am completely aware of everything he said. All the feminist, equality of outcome idiots, and all these down with the patriarchy, ignorant people, need to realize what that will mean in the end. It’s not a Buffet, you don’t get to pick and choose which part do you want in which part you don’t. Everyone is put on this earth for a reason, and it is not to tear each other down. Which is what society seems to be pushing for now. You can’t put the blame all the faults on one group we have an accountability issue, not anything else this victim mentality needs to go. To me this song shows what men really deal with on the inside but our society has conditioned them to hide it or just work your days away till you die. And that makes me sad. I wish it wasn't that way. I'm sympathizing here. We all deserve love. We all deserve to be heard. Just because someone is a man shouldn't make it any different. That's what I meant.

Just within the last 10 days I've lost everything; my wife, house, both jobs, car, and sobriety - after 21 months. I'm so lost right now. I left Baltimore 7 years ago because of my addiction problem, and moved to Frederick. Now, I've moved back to Baltimore to be near my family, and I'm scared to death to be back in the city.

As a very independent and blunt women, this did open my eyes to maybe how my husband may feel at times.
My wife recently found this sond and showed it to me. She said she was sorry and I felt bad she felt bad for me. I'm glad Dax made this song. She hugged me so tight and it was incredible. I do what I do because I got babies that aren't babies anymore. I've had hard times, I've said harsh words I've totally broken down and ran away. I'm so happy you're still there for me, babe.

As a Masculinist female i love this song so much. My daddy was my whole heart the only person i always knew loved me and he passed from a massive heart attack at 52yrs old and i know it was all the weight he carried on his shoulders from the age of 17 when his oldest daughter was born sick and he saw her turn blue in the incubator cot ahe was laying in. DAX hitting us hard again. My life was a one way trip to prison or death, I had a son, three weeks after he was born I flipped my work truck due a broken axle. I was ejected out of the van, broke my back, fractured my skull, broke 14 ribs, and collapsed my lung. 86 stitches in my head 54 in my back for the rods. It changed how I look at the world, my life. That was 9 years ago, I didn't have then. I knew I could not let my family down,and now I have a daughter, I own my home outright and own 2 vehicles. My back hurts everyday but I don't say much about it, I just keep moving forward because it's my job to provide and take care of the ones I love. I hope they can see one day what they really mean to me. We just have to be strong and make the right decisions and we can find happiness. I'm more than happy. Thanks for your reactions

Me as a man my self confidence was shattered by never having my father there for me. He walked out before I was born. 30 years later I found out my little girl has a mild case of autism. So I am spending hours of researching trying to pile a folder of multiple people with autism that had a dream & got it. Regardless they were famous or not. Because I know this world will tell her. She can't do this or that just because she has a disability. I just hope I can build up her confidence that I struggle with.

I'm a widow of the hardest working man I have every known, who died at 45. He did commercial fence work, having 7 herniated disks, still working 14+ hour days. Not everyone moves on to someone else. I choose to stay faithful as his wife and refuse to have any other man in his spot in my life, or especially in our children's life. He was the only man who deserves to be their dad.

Men lucky enough to have friends open up to their boys where they can be safe and supported. 99% of the time if a man is emotional to his woman, he loses respect, attractiveness, and it is used against him whenever there is an argument of she is having a bad day. She also typically disparages him to all of her girlfriends as well.
Men typically are not taught to not express emotion, we learn by experience. Sadly, a lot of that experience is trauma inflicted by women we trusted with out vulnerability.

I love that, from what I've seen, the women have been reacting with love and almost apologies. It's that thing where we don't see it till it's pointed out plainly. We can't fix a problem we don't know exists. The me too movement had to happen but, like the whitch trials 400 years ago, a lot of great men got unjustly caught up in it and now we need to bring it back to center. People of all genders suck but we need to treat people as individuals not in generalities.
I don’t understand the new mentality that men have to step DOWN to instead of step UP to make anyone else happy. We should be fighting for equality in everything. Not one over the other. I don’t understand that mentality of how that is remotely going to help. I think we need to remember what equality really means. We should be lifting each other up, not tearing anyone down. Putting any group of people whether gender, religion (believe system), race or sexual orientation lower than others. That’s what equality is. And Dax is sending an amazing message that we need to look at this too! Great reaction and great job on Dax for calling attention to how men REALLY feel a lot of times.
I have to tell you that this made me a subscriber out the gate. I will share and tell others. I have kept my feelings in my whole life. I have never brought my inner demons to the surface. I buried them years ago. I make sure my daughters grandkids and wife are now and always will be taken care of. I work 7-12’s on the road fly home on the red eye and then drive to my house change and go hit the job. I own a commercial roofing company where everyone thinks I’m a millionaire but they have no clue. I let the blue beans go cold turkey 12 months ago and will not look back. I feel better and getting better but it is tough. Thank you for this!!

I’m a woman and I find a lot of truth in this song. It’s not men vs. women. When women are like “oh, well, women have it worse because….” that only shuts the conversation down and makes the men not want to speak on it. Which is why the song is truthful to begin with.

And it's obvious if you look at the comments and watch the reactions to the song I haven't seen a single man react to this song and comment on it without first addressing women we are so conditioned to ignore our own problems that even when there's something specifically addressing them we feel the need to Blossom over or don't give them the focus they need because we have to include other people and that's not necessary
If a war broke out, would men expect your partner take your place? NO!!! You wouldn't, so it's our job, without the what the women did in WWII, men couldn't do the job, it's a primeval instinct and men cannot escape it. The song speaks the truth.
I tend to agree. But speaking as a woman who lost her husband only 3 weeks ago... it wasn't what he provided FINANCIALLY that mattered to me and his children. Dealing will all but addiction so I can’t just be to high to feel all the time. This song explains the reasons I’ve been depressed for years and have so much anxiety against meeting women. Everything in my life has been provided to me conditionally after age 14-15 and the feeling that it’s unconditional for anyone else makes me physically I’ll and nauseous. Had to make my own way when I was young and wanted toys or digital currency, I was a game modeler slaving away for just a couple hundred dollars at 14-15 afterwards I ran a TH-cam channeI (16-17) gaining 4K subscribers a month before I quit due to depression (EggyBoiled) because both my parents were to poor from having cancer in the early 2000s. The immense pressure when everyone is poor around you is real. I feel betrayed by the world, evolution is obviously to blame but what can you do.

Even as an (Asian) incoming college student, this hits deep, may not be money I'm providing but grades and hopes that I WOULD be able to provide money. I understand that I'm blessed with the opportunity to study and somewhat set my path but sometimes I ponder if it's even worth doing all this just to keep working in the future, I aim to provide for my mother and friends seeing as they are the few people that give me reason to live, but when I was recommended to change courses to learn (from Accounting to Nursing) just to secure a high pay I was really hit hard, the former was my calling and the other was the go to option to make a living, I don't detest nursing, hell I'm even interested in it but it wasn't what I enjoyed and was willing to do as a job, the pressure that other's well being are on your shoulders and that your never going at your own pace? I'd collapse just imagining doing that, all in all this song just cuts deep and helps let out all of that bottled up emotion we men have, thank god we have songs like these

As a man, I always feel like I'm replaceable, whether it's work or family.

I hate how men feel like they can't express themselves. I'm a single mom working full time and being mom and dad. Mu days are long and hard. I put in the work hours and hold down the household. I KNOW I'm a damn warrior and stronger than strong. I come from domestic violence. But I know there are good men out there. And we all need to give ourselves grace and feel empowered to be who we are and feel our feelings. There are good women out there who appreciate that. And we are usually the ones who have been abused in some way but we still have empathy to humans (probably why we are so easily abused).
I appreciate good men. I'm raising my 14 year old son to embrace and feel every emotion ans know its ok. I'm good doing life on my own bc i just don't want to be used and abused again, but I know there are still good men out there. I'm just now ok doing this on my own. No man will ever hurt me or my kids again nor will I ever rely on a man again. I got it.
