Wow. Thanks for featuring my custom sound board. It was a fun one to put together. And congrats on the final restoration results. You've taken a pinball from 0 to 10. Looks great. Sounds great too.
Are you possibly planning on doing ones for the old Stern machines?
Not at this time. Concentrating on Bally machines right now.
You’ve gotta do some custom sounds some time. Imagine a machine that says ‘It’s broke’, ‘cmon people’ or ‘micro farad’ in play. The value would triple 😅
I want to hear "It's BROKE!" when you drain a ball.
Ladies and Gentlemen..thanks to Naytch telling you if you're not tilting you're not trying...your machine..is now broke..have a nice day 😆
Sounds like a candidate for a generic machine with low restoration value and messed up table art or missing top panel art. It could be re-purposed into a Joes Arcade themed machine.
Lol was just thinking the same thing, along with Ron's dorky sound-effects that always make me 😊
micro-farad
I can see Joe having fun with the custom sounds "Ladies and Gentlemen", "Come, Come on Peple", "Its Broke!" LOL
I used Geeteoh's awesome board in my Star Trek and now it's a total badass rock show! Massive difference. I made some sound edits and improved background music. His boards propel these pins 20 years ahead!
Wow, what a transformation. Nice job!
Awesome job reviving that pinball game Ron and Joe!
I was just watching his video, awesome upgrade. Now we need a custom Lost World score fitting of the theme.
Lost World looks, and sounds awesome, I doubt it will veg in the showroom for long. Great work gentlemen.
Somebody is going to be lucky to buy that machine! 😃 it's cool how it can do classic sounds or updated sounds! The updated sounds really suit this game! 😎 Well done saving this one from trash to treasure and thanks as always for bringing us along on the journey! 😃
that transformation is amazing! from scarp to a beautiful game. You guys are amazing!
Wow now thays an awesome looking Frankenstern
Great resurection guys🎉
Wow! What a great transformation from wreck to a well restored pinball machine. Lots of work on this one, but definitely worth the time and effort. It’s ‘found’ now for sure.
That machine turned out awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos. Have you ever done a video on an EM shooting game like the Apollo? I have a 1966 Apollo. It currently doesn’t work and is in really rough shape, but I’m going to bring it back to life. Your channel will be a huge part of this restoration. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Look back in there videos , they have done a ton of restorations. Lots of EM’s as well . I’m sure you can find some videos to help you with your Apollo .
I don't think we've done a video specifically on an EM gun game, but we will soon. We have a couple here in the shop, they're just like the pinball machines.
@@Jesselovespinball okay, thanks
@@LyonsArcade okay, i figured all EM games have similarities. Repair technique is the same. Thanks.
So good that you explain it so in depth , good work as always mate . !
Awesome work. Love that sound board!
Missing Amature Repair Time.... Love watching and learned alot
Ronnie and Joe are parting them in !!!
That was one of the best fix it series ever.
I cannot believe you took a roughly-pinball shaped hulk of yellow wood and worked it back into a very respectable pinball machine.
Ron, Joe, enjoyed the adventure! Someone will be very happy to own that machine. Stay cool and have a good weekend!
I put a GeeTeOh soundboard in my Flash Gordon with the updated sounds, it’s a game changer!
She's a real beauty - Turned out great!
Great project Joe and Ron, turned out perfect
Wow! That went from Bad to BadAss! You get a pat on the back from me! Nice job!
GORGEOUS AND STUNNING!
Amazing restoration.
An excellent piece of work. Well done..
The backaground sound is definitely from Bally's Vector.
I love stuff like this that can enhance older games while also preserving the original if you want that too. I have a Pascal All-In-One board in my Genie and the option to set it to original rules or expanded rules is really cool. Would be awesome to get some upgraded sounds in that too!
nice job and I checked out the sound cards site looks great !
Pure Awesomeness Nice job!
You guys did a great job. With the new customizable sound boards, and the ability of print shops doing DTF printing, have you ever heard of someone custom building their own pinball machine? I thought it would be cool to take an old game like that that has been parted or visually really degraded and make a one-of-a-kind machine.
Think an 80's Saturday's cartoon theme, pics of different shows and characters on the targets and playfield with sound samples from the shows. Elmer Fudd, Roadrunner, Bugs, to Transformers and other could all be there. Licensing a game like that would probably be a pain and expensive, but if you were just building it for yourself, you wouldn't need to license it.
thanks for a intresting video as alwys.
to me it seems that balley used a very early sound board that uses plug and play conections.
and i like the aftermarket/replacement board.
🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪👍👍👍🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
FrankenStern, love that interface. Makes me want to short out some Rasperry Pis figuring out my mutant mechanism out of an old Cheeze arcade game that does nothing but take quarters and beep.
I prefer the futuristic sound 😮
Awesome job! Congrats!
You missed a chance to say this one goes to 11
I have a geeteeoh pac maze board in my pac man pinball, and it works great!
Need a sound board that when Ron turns the game on he hears Joe telling him " It's Broke "
Love this thanks guys, see you in the next one :) x
Great series as always.
You should have added a flatulence cushion library set.
It has a kind of Frank Frazetta vibe to it, like something your would see on a Molly Hatchet album cover.
Very cool machine.
Cheers,
Turns out you can turn a pigs ear into a silk purse. What a transformation that was. Hope it goes to a good home!
Just an amazing restoration of the machine Ron and Joe. Love the new sound board. I sure wish he would make a new board for my Black Knight 2000. I would really like to customize it. Do you or anyone else in the group have a suggestion of what I could do to get a customized sound board for my Black Knight 2000? Cheers from Canada!
I don't think they make a custom sound board for Black Knight 2000 yet anywhere.... thanks for watching as always Paul!
Love it!
Background sounds: 1. Bally's Pac Man pinball, Ball 2 : Bally's Eight Ball Deluxe, Ball 3 :Bally's Vector pinball, Ball 4 : Bally's Embryon, Ball 5 : Bally's Centaur.
Wow good job. You know your Ballys. The second one is Spectrum - but very close sounding to EBD. The MrMrPacman sound is used on a couple of other machines as well.
Very Nice!
JOE, for Replacement MPU boards for Bally, Stein, Williams, etc the newer Replacement boards like Alltek have a power up boot sequence that checks if any coil is shorted or solenoid is locked on, which resets the watchdog circuit or shuts the game off which only happens when turning on the pinball game during power up booting. I'm not sure why SS 70s and SS 80's don't have a power up boot checking for any coils or solenoids locked on. How can you upgrade and update the pinball games ROM code to have this power up boot sequence test for locked coils and locked solenoids? Try looking into how to upgrade the ROM code in older SS 70s & SS 80s ROM chips instead using replacement boards
I didn't even get a pamphlet with my new games system. But I did get Bride of Pinbot to play on it because of your repair video on it. For some reason the flippers on this digital one seems too far apart and it fires the ball between them far too accurately for my liking. But, there you are.
Hey Ron!!
I'd say the chip with the custom label is a microcontroller with flash inside. It says ATMega just under it, and that is an inexpensive microcontroller that you can program for a specific task, and it is rather self-contained.
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering Good eyes. It does say ATMEGA328, but the chip installed is it's little brother - ATMEGA168. Which is the same but half the RAM, ROM, EEPROM.
It probably is the interface between the games codes and the sound banks stored in the WAV board, I noticed the WAV trigger board had a Sparkfun logo on it.
The red board is essentially an Arduino.
Ronnie, go get a manicure and charge it to the store as a business expense!
lol
I'm a dude
@@LyonsArcade that’s why I laughed. You’re a hard working dude!
Ron would this work in a Williams flash
No unfortunately this board only works in lost world... he hasn't done a williams flash board yet.
Do you ship to Australia? ; p
Yodelayheehoo
Crank that sucker up!
