- In a previous video conducting maintenance on the front brake pads it was discovered that the brake fluid had turned and will need to be flushed, generally due to moisture contamination. A vacuum bleeder will be employed for this operation.
The reservoir will be opened first removing the oil within it, and giving it a proper cleanout. then it will be filled with fresh DOT4.
At least one entire reservoir of oil is pulled through for an adequate flush, being mindful to keep topping off as the level drops with a final topping off.
The brakes should be tested and inspected before operating the bike on the road.

These videos gave me the confidence to do my own work. You explain everything so well and for that I’m so grateful
Your videos deserve MANY more views. Excellent work, informative, nonsense-free and well edited.
Thanks for posting them.
Much appreciated!
Your video and explanations are awesome!
Thank you.
Another great video. Thanks Retro!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this video.
I wouldn't clean anything with a paper towel because sheds fibers
You can see the fibers in the video when the light reflects on the new oil
I would use a microfiber towel
Paper fibers break down. Cotton and synthetic do not. I avoid those when working in engine cylinder or brake cylinder environments
Thanks for all you do.
You're welcome.
Thank you. I have the same bike I picked up cheap and am gonna flip it. I think Ill buy that bleeder kit. No mess and makes a quick job out of it. The fluid in my bike looks gross brown like yours did. This video is exactly what I needed to see tonight!
Glad it helped.

You’re welcome

Wry good. Good video.
Thanks for the visit
Good video, thanks! You put the top cover on backward, not sure it matters.
Rebuilt my calipers a couple months ago. Just bled them over the weekend. I used I different vacuum bleeder, took a lot longer than I expected. Was a B**** even with a pump. Not a job for the average Joe.
Soooo, you used a different bleeder... and it didnt work as good. Thats why I dont use a different bleeder.
A comment and question... be careful with the HF vacuum. It'll spray out brake fluid if it gets too full or tips over. It gets messy especially if aimed at vehicle. Always aim away from vehicle as a precaution.
How are you liking the Kendon lift now that you've had it a while? Do you still have it?
Thanks for sharing.
