    Thank you for stepping up on this very important and urgent topic! We have an abundance of heathy, delicious food options and yet I see grocery carts filled with unhealthy options. This is at the root of our current health crisis.

    Totally agree, but...last week I was in the hospital for about 1 1/2 days. The food was terrible. I know, for decades people have joked about terrible hospital food, but we should know better now. The choices were ridiculous and then poorly cooked and apparently left to cool before serving. Just when you could use some really good nutrition...I hope you Docs will advocate for better food in hospitals.
    Vasco de Gama discovered citrus prevented scurvy in 1497, and the British Navy adopted it in 1795. That's only 300 years or so, so science doesn't always go mainstream in a hurry...

      We agree about the food. Same goes for schools. It’s basic stuff

      @@TalkingWithDocs Thanks - I knew you were great advocates for good nutrition! Speaking of schools, I saw a video of a town in Japan that had a huge clean fantastic school lunch kitchen that takes in fresh food early in the morning and makes thousands of yummy school lunches for the kids every day. If I run across the URL I'll post it in a comments section for you.

    Raw vegetables are better. When I was a child, I hated eating cooked leaves and big fruit skins from preserves. I felt like the skins would attach to my throad and cause me to throw up while the adults around were watching. Cooked vegetables have usually given up their taste to the soup and are bland.
    The child usually won't articulate the precise problem if he was reprimanded from talking about the wrong topics, his arguments are dismissed because he's not educated yet, and loud protest is effective.
    Now that I have to count my money, I never buy leaves, which have almost nothing in them. Shops want quite a lot for them because they're hard to keep fresh.

    Great advice!! Need to continue getting this message out to everyone!! Nutrition needs to be taught in schools at an early age.

    Some years ago, I woke up one morning and suddenly had no interest in eating sugar anymore. I don’t know why, since it still tastes great, but I’ve barely eaten it since. And (no exaggeration here) that is why I’m still alive.
    If only I knew what happened that night and could put it into a bottle, I’d be rich.

    Ever look at some people's purchases in the market? It's amazing with all the sugary fake food.

    Ironic- this presentation was followed by a fast food chicken sandwich commercial, fried and with a coating of cheese spread. I feel bad for parents of children with all these "temptations" out there.

      I don't think they have much control over the advertizing. After I watched the video there was a ad for mattresses.

    You mention a concern about type 2 diabetes, yet you encourage us to consume more carbohydrate???

    • @TalkingWithDocs
      @TalkingWithDocs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. Most people actually don’t understand the difference between simple and complex carbohydrates and whole foods. We recognize the carnivores are a passionate group. You obviously get to eat whatever you want. This fad will certainly lead to significance long term consequences for many which is unfortunate.

    It would be great to teach this in schools, and teachers, so that kids can bring this message home when parents are not aware...sad to see the treats kids get; apple w caramel is one of them yes but all sort of animal products makes the list longer and worst for human health and also the planet -environment and animals; what a destructive species are we...thanks for your contribution!

    How hard is it to get a child to eat vegetables if you offer them from babyhood?! And why buy chicken nuggets instead of real chicken?

    Eating fruit is terrible for anyone, especially kids. It raises blood sugar and insulin as much as candy. Vegetables aren’t much better. It’s surprising how little a “doc” knows about nutrition.

    • @TalkingWithDocs
      @TalkingWithDocs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      That is a shockingly inaccurate statement. We respect the passion of the carnivore approach but it is misguided. Research has shown time and time again fruits and vegetables are the way to health and longevity. This is not debatable

    • @edgetransit3320
      @edgetransit3320 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is incorrect. The issue with us learning nowadays is there are so many sources of information, that it is hard to see what is good and bad. A lot of us use youtube and google to learn which is fine, but we have to know how to filter out information. A carnivore person will say everything but meat is bad. Doesn't make it true. Just like when vegans say meat is bad. Not true.

      @@TalkingWithDocs”not debatable” that’s not how science works. The saturated fat scare was caused by bribed scientists in the 60’s who were paid under the table by sugar companies to blame saturated fat for the cause of heart disease , THAT is not debatable.
