Well done! It’s probably a bit boring, but I like white. Tint the windows, with those red accents and black rims…Sharp! Plus, white is the easiest color to keep clean and doesn’t show swirls or scratches as easily, as dark colors. It’s also cool in the summer months. White for me.

Also, the fact that you daily drive a Veloster N gives great perspective on the performance of the Kona N. With that said, my favorite color on the Kona N would be the Sonic Blue and Gravity Gray. The Performance Blue does not look good on the Kona N...it almost seems to be a gaudy Smurf Blue😅😂. Lastly, I cannot wait to see your review of the Elantra N. I almost put a downpayment on the Kona N, but decided to hold off doing so, until I see the new Elantra N reveal.
Thanks always :) If you talk in terms of performance solely, hands down Elantra N will be a winner - there just isn't a way for Kona N to overcome the physical shortcoming being an SUV - however, don't get me wrong, it is definitely an N and everything is there for you to enjoy the car around corners and tracks. Without a doubt, Elantra N will be more focused on performance while Kona N will be more on the practical side. Rumor has it, that Elantra N is superior than VN in every single way(this hurts, but I honestly love that fact, can't wait to drive it!).

Ride: Bit softer in all modes compared to Veloster N, and when compared to regular Kona, it has that higher power from the engine with 8-spd wet DCT, definitely more responsive, but may not be as "soft" as a regular one. No Hyundai car has wireless Apple Carplay just yet, all need a wire connection. Sound is Krell, and ppl say it's slightly less than Meridian from Kia's, not the best nor worst.
*personal taste here* I absolutely loved Gravity Gold Matte - this was first seen on IONIQ 5, but I didn't know this color would make such impression on cars with a bit sharper design(than IONIQ 5)
Unfortunately, you have to be ready for heartbreak, if for any reason, you have to get repainted due to an accident...I used to drive a gunmetal matte paint on an older veloster turbo. It was a pain in the ass to color match. Even hyundai could not color match properly...

My bad I didn't put that part in. New ones (Kona N & Elantra N) they no longer have the spider web looking, but just simple charts with each category where you can set levels from 1 to 3

Yeah, a friend of mine who's a designer told me that Sonic Blue actually is really closer to "blue" in terms of computer language (not sure abt the term, but those color codes, you know)
I was just at my local Hyundai dealer today, and they had an Elantra N on the lot, so no "oops" needed ;) Also.. just a regular Hyundai speedometer... that goes to 300!!

Great video! I'd choose black colour - looks really cool. Maybe an advance question, is there any turbo lag/hesitation from the dead stop on Kona N? Is the acceleration smooth? Thank you.
If a yes/no question, there is a turbo lag, being a turbo. However, it is really marginal unlike the turbos we've seen back in 90's. Also, from the stop, the car launches right away(given you've allowed the DCT to engage prior to coming to a complete stop, which requires about 0.5 seconds). It's nearly identical to VN DCT, so test drive that if you want to get the feeler :)

Thanks for the compliment and watching! This is the exact same color from IONIQ 5, there are a bunch of vids on the car on my channel, and on YT so check those out. It is the identical color, yet Kona N's design may fool your eye though. I honestly think it looks much better on Kona N. And going back to your question, this definitely has that "silverness" in the color more than "gold" and I'd say the ratio would be about 8:2 if not 7:3. Also, like with most of matte colors, it looks quite different depending on which condition you look at the color, sunlight, florescent light, night, indoors, outdoors, etc.
I’m not a fan of the Kona N styling and I think it’s a mistake to not make it AWD especially since they have other Kona models that have AWD. (I have a Veloster N DCT myself) I can’t wait for the Elantra N though 🤤

Congrats. You're right on everything. KN is selling less than 30 units per month nationwide and that was when it was doing good. Few years from now, KN will definitely be unique at any carmeets.
Red for me I think the sonic blue is quite an ugly colour gold matte is also nice but not sure on hassle of protecting it from weather,birds etc. Not sure if performance options would available in uk,I'd like to see the performance brakes drilled and grooved. I like to see a awd version in the uk which I'm sure will come eventually.. also I'd like to ad that the fake vents just under bonnet should be used with the performance air filter that would make for a lovely induction noise
The reason for the absence of AWD in current N's are mostly due to cost. AWD N will change pretty much everything, be the vehicle dynamics, technologies, layouts and all not to mention that there is no data accumulated fro AWD performance on these segments of cars we have on the current market. Most likely we will be seeing an AWD N on EV's. I sure do hope to see ICE AWD N though, anytime! And those slotted rotors better be on Hyundai's next to-do list, love your thoughts!
Silver is my favorite by far. Is that a color they will offer? I have noticed a lot of cars don't offer silver anymore, instead they have all these stupid looking pastels and off white, I find that extremely annoying.

I have seen where they experiment on pre-production cars with colors that do not make it to market. That would be a real shame because that GGM is hands down the best color IMO. The current Veloster N only offers four color choices which is pretty weak. They offered a specialty matt grey in Canada but for some absurd reason that was not offered in the rest of NA, WTF Hyundai. Why do all this and then lame out on the color options? I hate when they only offer particular colors in specific markets, so just seeing it here does not mean we will be able to get it when these cars go on sale in our market. I hope this will be a standard color available in all markets, but I doubt it, even if it costs extra, can you confirm if this will be true? This is a very unique special car so why saddle us with lame boring color choices? Red, white, black, and pastel color, someone should be fired over those choices.

After White and Black, silver is the most popular car color, it is well above even red and blue. Hyundai is really missing the mark on color choices. Couldn't be tested myself for the obvious reason, but I believe the car would detect tracks nearby or by the country.
I see the blue in the Sonic Blue. For me it looks like ave very light blue grey. I really like the Gravity Gold Matt, it's already great on Ioniq 5

😭 There is no silver with Kona N, unfortunately. The closest one will be that Gravity Gold Matte color, I've covered in the Part 3 of Kona N video.

I like the normal analog speedometer in the Velosters N and I30 N. Digital odometers age badly super fast.
Very true, but the info shown on the display is just no match. Oil temp, engine temp, brake etc. I want it so bad 😭😭😭
