Unfortunately the whole "subcompact crossover, err suv" thing is why the kona and the i5n are not my favorite Ns, I thought the appeal of the N brand was to get away from the horde of suvs and 4x4s??

@@F1fletch Dude stock is just fine, car is pretty and that engine is at its max really. Invest maybe in tires, interior, some gadgets and such. Maybe one thing I wished for it is to be maybe smaller cause it feels too tall for its lenght.
@@sasagrcevic475 I agree, now that I have had it 18 months I want to go with tires and wheels but otherwise leave it stock. I am never touching the engine, it’s plenty fast.
That car amazes me , I think that's an excellent interior . Has great power and shifting . A little more bouncy than I'd like but overall really impressive .

I have one of these. The bouncy is super true. The "soft" setting is stiff and the "n" mode is teeth chattering haha

I sat and watched the whole thing,...I'm in love with how the Kona N handles the curves and how tight they were,..it digs in really well and kicks out at the end of the curve,...love it!!!!

What a car! I drove the electric 64kwh 205psi Kona and that was amazing in sports mode! But this is a beast!
This made me feel like I was in Gran Turismo because that was some awesome driving. I'm hoping this CUV makes an appearance in GT7.

@@shortair84 I bought the Racing red one just waiting on the DCT recall to get a fix before I go on a long trip again.
@@cindysue5474 My car was manufactured in April 2022 and I bought it in May. Fortunately for me, the recall notice for the DCT issue never has popped up. To be on the safe side, I've taken the car in for service every 3,000 trouble-free miles.
The only "modification" I've made (if you could call it that) was to swap out the OEM Pirelli P Zero tires for a set of the more durable Pirelli P Zero "Elect" version. Road hazards took out two of the original gum erasers before I'd even put 5,000 miles on the car: The "Elect" tires are much more durable and have improved the ride, handling and performance of the car significantly.
Speaking of tires, my only complaint about the Kona N is that Hyundai cheaps out and only supplies a so-called "tire mobility kit" instead of an actual spare tire. I shuddered to think if I'd been in the middle of nowhere when I picked up those two tire-killing road hazards. I decided a spare tire was a must, searched online, and found a spare wheel-and-tire package expressly made for the Kona N by Modern Spare. modernspare.com/product/2021-2023-hyundai-kona-n-spare-tire-kit/ The tire is mounted on a wheel that's made to fit over the Kona N's oversized brakes, but is "shallow" enough to rest in the wheel well under rear floor. Voila!

I just got a KONA N--I have many hours at rd ATl and can not wait to track it.I can already tell it is a capable vehicle--GJ on hanging with those German cars that were twice the cost of the KONA.

The blue e36 and black e46 were definitely in their feelings that a Hyundai was on their ass. Especially the blue e36 when he aggressively passed at 8:29 lol his car even came off the ground.

I can't believe this is actually a SUV he's driving.
It's really just a tall hatch. Considering they didn't lower it at all over stock, it's only 5 inches taller than my elantra and most of that is just greenhouse. Both the folks on either side of me in my parking garage have Kona's and they are surprisingly small by comparison.
@lordflashheart3706 I see them and I just see another suv. I'm tired of seeing suvs and 4x4s everywhere and the kona and the i5n don't help with that unfortunately. Yeah sure they are cool for some, just wish they weren't a suv

My Mom has one. It is surprisingly snappy and hatchback-y feeling! Also way more planted than you would expect from a pseudo crossover. Fun little car she is!

Is this stock? Simply amazing! Did you use NGS at any point? Curious if N mode has the Ring in its database for tracks. Curious if navigation based track mode would help in the Ring. I have seen other vids filmed in Korea that has the track and it as GPS enabled to show the location off the car on the track.
yes, it's absolutely stock. NGS: No, i have forgot at this function, it's only without it with full gas.
@@DrivingCars Holy cow! With NGS, you could defiantly put more pressure to that M cars. Nonetheless, I can definitely see why Biermann intentionally did not go with AWD. The weight of AWD would have ruined the track performance.

Nope, it's only FWD with e-LSD. And it's absolutely stock.
Not bad I have a 2020 AWD Stinger.Power is very good from this.I do not know if you have driven a stinger but I just top speeded mine and where you were doing about 125 or so the Stinger probably would have been around mid 140s and probably would have caught that pack in front at the beginning.I also have cross drilled and vented Geomet rotors all the way around to go with the brembos and a str8 exhaust welded to the undecarriage of the car no mufflers.

@@DrivingCars I just got a KONA N--after the break in I will film some laps at road ATl--I picked up some pointers watching your vid.I also plan on putting geomet cross drilled and vented rotors on all 4 so I have more confidence entering turns faster.I sold my stinger months ago and the Kona N seems pretty capable for what it is.I have less track time then you but it shows how someone with skill can beat up on a more expensive car--I just came from a CX-30 turbo and here is a video of me taking a 40 MPH sharp turn at 70--about 5 MPH faster then I could in a Type R civic.th-cam.com/video/WJ74X_c1s7c/w-d-xo.html

There’s speculation that the hp number on the Ns are wheel hp number. People have dyno’d a few Elantra N they have made close to their hp rating to the wheels

They are definitely sandbagging the actual numbers, but as an owner I can say that 320-330 would be the sweet spot. 30-100 this car rips, beyond that you'll be rocking back and forth wishing for a little more.

I have a three year old standard Kona I’m not surprised they developed it to the N because the cornering balance and adhesion of the base Kona is impressive on its 225 section tyres.
