GC looks great. Might see if we can go there next year, although we already have a quite big holiday planned in Februari (without bike). Otherwise maybe the year after, although I'd also still like to go to Mallorca, as we had cancel the holiday we planned earlier this year. So many nice places, so little time and money :)
Glad to hear the recovery is going to plan. Does the ironworks stay in there, or do you have to have another surgery to get it all out?

I bet you'd love it if you find the time one year mate, but I totally feel you - so much exciting stuff to see in the world, that costs money and takes time! The climbs and descents are brilliant, unfortunately (or fortunately...) there's absolutely zero flat. The "flat" routes just undulate rather than having long climbs, but I'm not sure there's any 0% gradient road on the island!
I think almost the USP of the Canary Islands is probably that you can go in winter and still ride in tshirt and shorts. Even when I went to Mallorca in late March I needed arm and leg warmers most days. So maybe they're both ideal destinations just at slightly different times of year!
Thanks, yeah the plan is for all my metalwork to stay in. If in a few years it's bothering me they'll remove it, but only at my request. Apparently because I'm skinny it's more likely to irritate me as it'll poke out around my ankle 🤮 but for now I'm in the "I never want unnecessary surgery" camp!

Ahhh memories! Ferry is easy to use to get to and out of Puerto Mogan, have used it many times and the motorway is not a good option, it's very busy. There's two companies in Puerto Rico that do the ferries and they run every half hour. Takes about 20 minutes or so and is a cool way to arrive to the start of the climb! About 7 Euros each way. Remember to take your shoes off, they don't like you wandering around the boat in your cleats. One company only takes cash so beware of that. Get well soon BTW!

The ferry does sound great, a different way to get around the bottom and island and see things a little differently! 7 euros is not bad at all, definitely sounds better than the motorway. Thanks!
