The two characters are Harold Gemunsen, Grand Master of the Knights Panther, and General Hans von Löwenhacke - who I asume will be someone akin to Ludwig Schwarzhelm or Kurt Helborg, one of the Emperors' right hand man.
Classically Old World, with minimal new things and a return of a bunch of old relics. I think it's becoming more and more likely that the Empire will get a Knightly Orders-themed DLC with Kurt Helborg. Similar to Gorbad Ironclaw, Kurt Helborg makes sense to lead the final Empire lord pack, containing various aspects of the Empire.
I think I saw someone else say the new mounted hero looks like Knight's Panther Knight captain tribute to John Blanche's artwork of the Knight Panther on the rearing horse.
It would be great if they could do made-to-order for old metal core troops like spearmen and archers, and even the metal knights if they're just going to leave the plastic ones as they are.
So is this way before Karl Franz, Archaon, Ect? What age is this set in? The idea of a much earlier period is intriguing. Is this before or after the sundering?
@@il6yr8 Thats awesome. Thanks! Yeah over-the-top Archaon and all the other end times stuff was getting stale. I prefer when things are dialed back a bit. I hope the heros are more toned down and the units are more impressive this time. "Hero hammer" had its day!
It's right before the Great War against Chaos, ie, more than 200 years before the ascension of Karl Franz to the throne. During that time The Empire was a fractured mess (Magnus the Pious would be the emperor after the war and unify The Empire at last), Bretonnia's king was another king, Kislev was in its golden age and Cathay was in a time of woes.
These old ogre miniatures can be ‘fixed’ by cutting off their heads with a razor saw, gluing on new ogre heads and green stuffing whatever detail is lost from the cut. I’ve been ‘updating’ all my older OW minis that haven’t aged well in this way. This includes cutting off the over-large gorilla hands of the chaos marauders and replacing them with spare hands from other kits (most kits come with spares for weapons options). Its a lot of work, but it makes your army look like something from at least the 2010s, rather than mid 90s.
Damn, the Empire miniatures looks absolutely amazing! I would have started witb Empire instead of Dwarves, if the War Wagons were there from the beginning. They are my favourite unit in Warhammer Fantasy, because I'm a big Hussites enjoyer. I might actually need to start Empire someday as a second army....
Here's hoping we get 2 handed flagellants (big weapon damage, armor piercing) and Free company militia with melee armaments' (mixed weaponry/half ap damage, anti infantry, low melee stats & leadership) as FLC.
I do tho not like the fact that 1 no character on demi griffin kit, 2 they blurred the hell out of the new models In the reveal, 3 that the battalion box is kinda the worse one of the set we seen....30 state troops, perfect, 30 state missles troops kinda bad as they really need some aid, and than a steam tank....so no leader unless we can mount leader in the tank.....I feel the other battalion had some issue with charot spam, but empire....yea I was hoping more in the Bretonnia style. 30 state, demigriffin character kit, some knight and some missile troops....like a better unit mix. Idk 20 missles and 5 knights perhaps. Or 15 missles....anyways. Otherwise the arcane journal is looking sweet.
Yea i wish they would have either brought back Bruckner's model or made completely new one with Demigryph, but granted Warhammer Fantasy miniatures are quite easy to kitbash so its not that big of a deal.
Widely regarded by many players (at least who have been playing for thirty years or more) as some of the best ogres ever made and commanding ridiculous prices on eBay so GW know what they’re doing with that. They’ll make a killing considering these guys go for £30-40 each regularly.
....call me a naive...but i hoped they at least make new mounts for heavy cavalery....or fix the riders of demigryphs... On other hand....W.H. in metal? Take me money!
Article in description! Super hyped to see War Wagons back like seriously hahaha
With the number of subs you have, you should be providing better info.

which emperor though?;)
maybe the ogre will be a ror in the new dlc or maybe each culture will have ogre variants if yoy have done a job for them?
That Knight Panther miniature looks like the classic John Blanche art from 3rd Ed

summon the elector counts!!!
>Imperial Ogres
Darn. They are going further into the past...
Good thing is: Wargames Atlantics has some nice "Landsknechte Ogres" miniatures in plastic. :D
you forgot they mentioned the teutogen guard
Eh, no he didn't. 5:39

Ya, I believe the old world takes place 200 years before the birth of Karl franz and archaon.

@@andarara-c1p Yeah that sounds very interesting....It was time for a change, for sure.
It's set about 250 years before Karl Franz, just prior to the Great War Against Chaos when Asavar Kul the Everchosen led the armies of Chaos.
They should have redone the knights.
I think that witch hunter was originally in resin, I have model somewhere need to check it.

I really hope GW takes advantage of the Old World in expanding the world and bring the nations of the far east like Ind and Khuresh
Man I was hoping for the return of Cult of Ulric army list
The steam tank is a pretty cool addition to the box but as a bretonnia player if it was 2 cannons I would've bought it for an exiles list
personall, i think it's bad. I would have wanted to buy this as a starter box, and for that the tank is not balanced at all.

This has me so excited!! I can finish my Empire army!! This plus Krieg for 40k I'm pumped
I have 10 of them and have mounted swivel guns in most and small mortars in two of them; all with crews of 4 with bases as 6 is too many.
I wish GW would cut the BS and finally make miniatures for a priest and cult of Morr.
Why would they lower his "ballistic skill"?
I walked right into that one.

What are you talking about. Neither of those units will have weapon options. Flagellants use flails. Free company use additional hand weapons.
@ kinda funny, did you even watch the video?
Empire eng heros on a war wagon summon the elector modders!
I really wanted Steam tank variatons
No Clockwork horse Engineer?
So they are just re-releasing the old war wagon?

The War Wagon model was always annoying because the 6 crew didn't fit in it very well.

WAR WAGONS WAR WAGONS WAR WAGONS
STANKS STANKS STANKS

I didnt see flagelants
Hey Nathan I do hav 2 steam tanks plus alot more empire models I'm trying to get rid of
Those ogres are beautiful, haha! There’s a third party plastic set of empire ogres too that I have and am stoked to use!
Is this DLC coming into the game or this is just action figures
Not covering the new Greenskin releases for the Old World?
Hi my friend
Any news about dlc?
DLC for old world ❤😂 - kidding!
I hope knightly orders make it to Warhammer 3 too
If GW doesnt take a real serious approach to balance the empire is going to brake the game same as it did with WhFB and doom it again
I wish TH-camrs would chill with the titles. Literally nothing huge about it
