- This is part 2 of a 3 part video taken on a solo trip I did with my dog Maddy (aka The Goose) to the Algonquin region in Ontario Canada. We did a there-and-back starting at Wendigo Lake and moving South to Clam Shell Lake.
The weather was better than I could have hoped for with lakes of glass for almost the whole trip.
It was a nice relaxing trip and a great way to end the season.
oh man! seeing this now makes me miss warm weather so much more! great videos. thanks so much for sharing your trips with us.
Great videos! Thanks for sharing with us.
this is my dream, alone for 3 days in such a beautiful wilderness!
:)
Great series.
Loved your video! Actually leaving for one tomorrow :) Wish my 2 Bostons where as calm as you wonderful dog...
simply awesome!!!
these updates are great, amazing videography :D
I know this is probably waay out of your way, but you should consider making a camping video in Killarney provincial park!
Algonquin is great and I think you said before that it's convenient because it's in your area or something, but Killarney would really be something special because it's such an amazing park.
Either way, great vids! keep it up because I love to see what adventures you (and Maddy) get up to in the great outdoors!
On the subject of solo tripping and “lacking one paddle” you may want to look into getting a Swift Pack Boat. Basically a kayak with the top cut out. You paddle with a kayak paddle and can make good time. I recommend the 13.6 Adirondack.
Yes, that's exactly right. I don't bring any materials for tables and such. There are often platforms already in place or I just use flat rocks otherwise.
Hello from Montana. Good videos, man
Ive watched all your videos. very cool stuff. i need more videos to watch. can you update us on how things are going. Thanks
@KarlMaldensNose , From what I remember, the table is actually part of the camp site in Algonquin. It's been set up by someone a few summers or years ago and has stayed there ever since.
4:30 Woodland Deer Mouse (same coloration as a whiteTailDEER) ..cute but can poop near eating/sleeping areas, Humans breath in the dried fecal matter(airborne) &become seriously sick wth respirtory problems,Fever,Headaches, cough or Muscle aches. Great Trip.. ;-))
25 deg c is 75 deg far. I could run non stop in that! It's may and already 90's here
@avhousebitch Actually it's a North Face Road Runner 3. Great tent but it'll will probably be replaced next season since it's showing it's age now. I'm looking into the MEC line, I may end up with Apollo. We'll see.
Try "Ivy Block". I've used it several times in areas I hiked through filled with poison ivy and sumac. I always carry a bottle and pre-apply before traversing. Check it out. it works.
Interesting table set-up you have at 2:50 in. May I ask what kind and size that wood is? I'm assuming it fits flush up against the back wall of your pack? If not, how exactly do you pack it, and how many pieces do you usually bring on solo trips? Thanks for all the great tips in your vids!
Hey, I just got a random question: what do you do against mosquitos when you're having your cam on a lake?
any advice for dealing with poison ivy around the camp site, while collecting wood or during a portage? Also any tips for dealing with mosquitoes? I heard they can be ruthless at times up there.
is it safe to go an algonquin trip solo? What do you hang your food in?
is that the MEC Wanderer 4?
I cant beleive u dont fish these areas!!!!
