They might not win an award in a Miss Coral Reef competition, but the goofy parrotfish are amongst the most important species on the entire tropical reef, with some fascinating tricks up their sleeves. parrotfish are one of the few fish that stop me in my tracks every time I see one snorkeling. The colors that come off them are incredible. Seeing them on film does not serve them justice.

Parrot fishes and other coral fishes are cleaning the coral in sea base by eating the rubbish and turbid entangled in the coral. They are the cleaners and not eating the corals as stated by certain people! Love them! Don't eat them!

They sleep in stag coral at night. They get wedged in and sleep hard. You can touch them. They hardly even wake up.
