- These largemouth bass on Lake Fairfield are moving up into shallow grass and feeding before the spawn. Fishing crankbaits over warming water grass patches is one of my favorite ways to get reaction bites from these shallow water giant bass!

I used to have some homemade biscuits made for me to take on my camping trips, and I'd just bring them in a plain brown paper bag, and stick one in the pan on top of the beacon or sausage to heat it up about a minute before they're done. And they're fresh so never put them in a cooler, keep them at "room" temp. Now look whatcha did, now I want to go camping! lol.

What a fish! Shocked you don't have a scale. Always have a scale in the boat, always. Even better, have two. One digital and one spring style that doesn't rely on battery's. That fish may have been worth seeking out another boater to see if they had a scale. Then return to the spot to let him free. Great fish! Congratulations.

The last time I stayed on the water thru a storm like that I got nailed by lightning just as I hooked up on a roughly 7-8lb largies,lost the fish and jumped out of the boat so I didn't get hit by sparks again,very f'ed over episode and went home empty handed.thankfully you didn't go thru the same,keep up the great work guy and have a great one
