    I was tasked with building a PC that could be carried onto an airplane! We took things a step further and set the goal of building a powerful gaming PC that fit into a backpack! Tiny computers are super cool - but they can also be super practical! If a rig can fit into a backpack, you could take it literally anywhere! How did we do? Hope you'll enjoy!

    Thanks so much for building my PC! I love it so much and its 1000% better than the computer I have been using for ~2 years. Super glad I didn't have to try to build it myself and worry about breaking everything. It was great going through 2 rounds of airport security and definitely got drug tested once 😂. It has been dubbed 'The Toaster" because its so tiny.

    Being that I'm inexperienced with PC's (having only built one custom rig for work/ gaming)... I love these small form factor PC builds! Super clean.. Most of all, its awesome how you react when your children come on into your set while filming. It's not even a frequent occurance for videos on your channel, but it really is just another reason why I subscribed to the channel. You're an awesome man, Dad, content creator, etc. !!!

    I love these small builds. Built my first pc after 15 years in January in the NP200. 11400f with the gigabyte b590i vision board, 16gb Kingston fury ram and power color Rx 6600. Added an ID Cooling AIO which was probably overkill but now it rarely goes over 50c on heavy load. I got Windows 11 and MacOS Ventura running on it

    This has been my dream for a long time, and I'm finally getting around to building it! I went with the Lian Li A4 H2O and an AM4 motherboard so I can upgrade into a Ryzen 5700 or 5800 later on, and I'm using my trusty RTX 3060Ti that I've had for almost a year now. I've been opposed to most laptop trends of the last decade, and I haven't been able to justify spending the thousands of dollars required to have a desktop replacement laptop, so I decided to take my desktop portable with a build similar to this one. All my peripherals are BT anyways, and a good portable monitor isn't super expensive anyways. Great video and thanks for showing people that small PCs are actually quite attainable!

    We recently had a LAN party. Most of them, who came with their desktop instead of a notebook, had a small form factor one. Was nice to see.

    Personally, I always love to see small form factor builds! I built one for my sister as a birthday gift right before the pandemic. I intended to make it easy for her to transport to her University, but worked out anyways when everyone was sent home since she didn't have a very good laptop. I don't use small form factor personally but its one of those things that I cant help but admire the efficiency and practicality of one.

    I love my Ghost S1 build. Can't put the most powerful components in it but still can pack a punch. Especially if you purchase the tophats that they have for it. Lots of ways to configure with the 3 different tophats. Awesome build! That will be a perfect backpack system.

    This build is absolutely beautiful! I love what you do here on this channel, it's an important reference for everyone who needs to build a PC, either with little or much experience. Like you asked for, my humble suggestions are switching to a bigger NVMe and adding an heatsink on it, you clearly have the space above the SSD to do it. 😊😊😊

  • @p.d.k.
    @p.d.k. ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Parts list shows a “i9 11400”, and links to a 11400. Probably should update that to a link to a 13400.
    The Ghost S1 is on clearance (they are getting ready for the R1 in a few months). $149/$159 for the case with the PCIe 4.0 riser is a steal.

  • @TheGameBench
    @TheGameBench ปีที่แล้ว

    I built my last living room PC in the Ghost S1 and I loved that case. I sold all of the parts out of it, but I held onto the case. It really is a quality chassis. Would have considered sticking with it if I wasn't stuck with dual slot cards. And I wish the IS-55 was around when I had my system in it. Would have cooled the de-lidded 8600K a lot better than the C7 CU. Also, for you people that want to show off your RGB ram, the IS-55 can be mounted to overhand the I/O instead.

    best use-case for a backpack PC is (nearly) fully portable VR! even if its a laptop and battery bank you'll still get alot of value out of that and for a backpack desktop you just need a really long, light, and thin power cable! I wish this was used more.

    I flew from USA to Deutschland (With a layover in Österreich on my way to Berlin) with an ITX system in my backpack in 2018. Fortunately, my only issue was leaving the USA. When I went through TSA and they totally freaked out and I was detained. I'm used to being the "Random Security Search", on every flight in the USA because of my last name, but I have never been "behind the curtain" in security control. Fortunately, after explaining to the officer what it was, and opening it for inspection, I was allowed to go on my way. I didn't miss my plane, which was great. When I went through security in Österreich to enter the EU and the officer was a computer enthusiast and knew exactly what he was seeing on the X-Ray.

    i learned from my SFF builds that i use SFX power supplies that have individually sleeved cables. I think Corsair and Lian Li PSUs come to mind and supply plenty of power for this build. They are way easier to bend fold and manipulate than those stiff plasticky flat cables. Of course if you go whole hog and order custom cable lengths its easier but you bust the budget. i'm glad you used the NVME M.2 drives as again less cables to deal with. I cant remember the last time i used regular SSDs. My only concession to size is that if i cant SEE my work via a temper glass opening that case is a no go for me. But other than my quirk this looks like a very sleek and slick case to build in. Nice to see the SFF cases get some love.

    Except for the case factor I am watching this on the same components as far as the CPU and video card right now. I would be interested on the cooling of the CPU with that cooler running cinebenchR23. I have seen the small form factor have trouble with cooling. Looks like a handsome rig and it met the parameters you were trying to reach. Great idea helping out the neighbor.
