The benefit of edun is that you can get it at a really early MR stage. Just do the duviri quest, fight the orowyrm 5 times and it is yours. The resources are easy to get as well. I think many new players would get this over the guandao in the early game as it looks stronger with the little crit bonus and is basically free. The resources for the edun are also some of the easiest to get in duviri . It also comes with 3 madurai polarities so you can pretty much fit a full normal slash build with at max only 1 forma.
@@iron2667 It is easy to get but the issue is MR requirement. You need MR 12 for orthos. You only need to complete duviri paradox quest and do some missions for edun.
Oh man the hammer makes me feel like Sauron every time I do big smash and make enemies rag doll into space. Plus the wonky melee hit boxes when sliding makes it hilarious when you have the move speed with decrees decree and slide by enemies after the smash and still send them into space
It might just be another polearm, but for drifter it feels nicer. However, the biggest upside to it imo, it's a gorgeous weapon. I would gladly trade a bit of power for a better looking weapon that feels smoother. I don't use the throw gimmick though. One thing you missed, we do have a pole arm that throws a projectile, or rather it is able to? Exodia arcane with a plague zaw, gives you the ability to throw a project after a double jump.
Its past 4am and I need to sleep, but this was really interesting. looks like this will be a great end game melee weapon for a few of my friends who are newer to the game and limited in their current prime weapons.
The funny thing about the Edun is that it fits my playstyle really well. I needed a ranged high damage "target cracker" with good crit and able to take advantage of critical spots. I use the Cedo as a priming primary and tenet plinx as my secondary. I mostly use the plinx for its alt fire but the alt aoe doesnt take advantage of critical spot multipliers. I modded it for high raw damage and crit so it does massive numbers against netracell fodder. Tankier enemies (tankier than eximus) dont really go down easy though. The primary fire on the plinx does take advantage of those spots but deals significantly less damage. Thats why I have my edun modded like a typical heavy attack build with condition overload for high single target damage and it works like a charm. Prime all enemies in the vicinity with viral and random raw elements, use the plinx a couple times to group up trash fodder and blow them sky high, and then I use the Edun to come in and snipe any remaining chunky targets. Edun hits 3mil easy on lower levels, but is still largely single target becasue condition overload doesnt work on AOE.
I think the best Drifter Melee is definitely the Syam. It's fast, feel good to use, and actually feels awesome in a Warframes hands as well with a cool effect to boot
you know caustacyst heavy attack yeah take that make it excal 4 projectile on the ground like a cocroach make it go 230 meters and put it on fire thats bassicly syam
Its such a shame they dident have them like the archon weapons because i like how they work for the drifter and warframe i dont see why its different for which is using them.
I just got the weapon myself a few hours ago and I hope the Drifter moveset makes up for it. The weapon itself looks so good but seeing that it's only okay bums me out a little bit because the grind for the clamps is so annoying (not because of the normal gameplay but because my missions keep bugging out halfway through if there is a host migration you better start praying)
The status damage no longer double dips though, while still being 30% instead of the listed 60%, which can make Glad Might better depending on the weapon's crit stats
ty for the video, you saved my formas, im building it right now cause the heavy attack effect sound cool ,but if its like this, it will give mastery as most weapons and maybe keep it case of buff, still very satisfying with Drifter, will you do videos on the other weapons? wondering if the other weapons gimicks are worth
Would this Polearm be really good with Voruna? between the CO priming with her 2 and 90% heavy attack efficiency with her 3rd passive, it could make up for the polearms gimmicks combo killing and work pretty well
I like this line of thought; I was going to get the two-handed nikana first but I might get Edun first just to test this with Voruna. Only finally tried Duviri today and I'm already dreading the farming it will take to get all of the weapons, especially the Cinta bow.
Of the drifter weapons which is probably the best for warframes? I first grabbed the syam cause the heavies seemed cool but It hasn't finished crafting yet so I don't know if its worth it. I've heard some good things as well about the hammer but I've never tried any slam heavy weapons nor do I enjoy building up combo and then blowing it on a heavy. I generally just get some initial combo and do heavy attacks from there on out with things like the quassis.
The new Tenno Kai mod should help out a lot, you can try the build in 7:16, replace both Heavy Attack Efficiency mod to a Tenno Kai and electric element mod.
Yeah it is so much like the Guandao that i could fit my guandao riven to it when it launched(true story search it) it was patched a while later. So the devs realy copied the guandao and altered it a bit.
Speaking of bugged, DE really needs to fix Korumm and the new heavy nikana's gimmicks not working consistently with mods. Wish they had just given us all the Drifter heavies though. Way cooler.
So my damage is close to what I'm seeing at 2:30, even with a bunch of mods. How are you getting those high damage crit numbers in that Void mission? They look like they still have armor.
Boreal actually only gives +30% status damage and not +60%. Once upon a time, it gave +69% (nice) because it was double dipping the 30%, (1.3^2), but they specifically patched that out to not double dip, while not fixing the fact the mod was only giving +30% status damage. It went from being 10-20% better than gladiator might, to being 10-20% worse. Incidentally, if it was actually +60% status damage as listed, it would be worth it, at roughly 5-15% better than gladiator might. Though this really only matters for endurance. If you’re just running around base SP, yes, boreal works well enough you’re not really going to notice a difference. While the gap between the mods currently is 10-20%, the actual performance gap of the full build is
Genuinely I never even would have invested into the Paradox if I knew that they would lock all of my weapons and warframes behind a randomization system that would pick my least used items its actually annoying that I dedicate five years of my life to this game to earn and refine my playstyle just for them to say nah all i want is a off switch now because all of the little shards I used to upgrade my Warframe cost massive amounts of resources to relocate so if I want to play how I want indiveri Paradox I have to sacrifice some of my most hard-earned rare resources just to play how I want and everybody says this is for the sake of challenge but there's already a Max Level Mode called steelpath not only that but you can fight max level bosses in steelpath yet you're coming to the new content that's been hyped up for most of warframes launch and then locking the veterans out of their favorite gear its genuinely cancer
Do keep your hopes up. DE never fixes anything related to SP lvl damage. They test their stuff in lvl 30 survivals. Yet another bunch or disappointing melees
I was really disappointed by this weapon. I've always loved polearms like this in general, and being able to throw one sounded super cool. That was until I discovered that the throw is actually a heavy attack that consumes combo, unlike the Wolf Sledge, where the throw is just a normal attack.
melee system (drifter's) needs a revamp its so rigid and just not fun it breaks the flow completely. Like they need to make it more fluid and actually add forward, backward, defensive combos like with warframe melee's.
But it's a polearm that's what I wanted. And a game where there's an absurd amount of broken weapons I don't think it matters at this one isnt considering the difficulty curve of the game after a certain point is laughable
Why DE are so bad at making alternate attack modes on weapons? Cmon, you have Unreal Tournament in your portfolio, where every weapon had at least 2 firing modes, some even more, that shouldn't be so hard... Well, all alternate fire modes they've made so far look cool, the ideas are cool, but for some of them, damage multipliers and/or clunky animations completely ruin it. About Edun... yes, it sure looks perfectly suited for fashionframe endgame.
Meh, All weapons are the same in the end what changes is just the skin! The problem with Warframe is that EVERYTHING is OP less the enemies with outdated AI and who seem to be made of paper! Warframe is a game without challenges, boring and broken!

In addition to fixing the combo-whipe bug I have an idea for a good fix: heavy explosion size scaling with Combo.
edun for smoothness,
syam for aesthetic.
They need to store the combo variable for each melee projectile and it will fix everything. Not the first one to have this problem.
