      Cool rework. The creepy creature lurking in the floor is definitely a dreadful sight to behold. Seems just right thematically.
      The balancing team would have to sweat it out giving so much to his kit (basically a kayn problem) but that's another matter! And a dark one at that.

      I always thought that nocturnes R was the problem and what made him so anti fun to play against but removing the spellshield and making the tether shorter was a great way to keep the ult and make it more enjoyable! great work dude.

    Simple, effective, preserves the characters identity while enhancing their concept, and to top it off it's not an overloaded kit. Chef's kiss, simply beautiful.

      his ult is a bit overloaded, if you’re snowballing you can kill people literally for free off cooldown, no other character can do that without vision.

    I like how he keeps his core identity and the general concepts of most of his abilities, and the passive is really cool. He also looks like he’s more possible to counter, if his ult works how you designed it, would someone be able to QSS the darkness and prevent him from diving them if their reflexes were fast enough?

      yea but if he rapidly double-tapps he's ult he woud already be inside tha charging animation on your dispel

      But with banshee or edge of night u cannot be afflicted by mark of twilight so he cant jump to you

    I wish he had more particles, otherwise he looks like a weird flying creature instead of being darkness himself. The new R is an insane buff to the old one. Apart from these two, great job. You are certainly talented

      What do you mean? If anything it's weaker because it would be possible to counter it with qss. This nocturne would play much better than the current one. There's synergy to his abilities

    That's actually a very solid take on nocturne rework, that both refreshes his kit and keeps it true to his original design. It might need a few tweaks, but still really good overall. I hope people from Riot notice this and do something about it

    So the combo would be R --> R again on a mob of enemies --> E them all while beneficing of your W passive --> held Q if you can channel it while you E --> W to dash again on a low life target and finish it.
    I guess it improves Nocturne's ability to engage teamfights but it would require to build offtank to be sure to land that AOE cc.

    Great work. I really like the thematic changes to the kit you suggested. I think the model is a better change and I like the visual of the runic bindings. However, I think the overall visual changes just look not very intimidating. I'm not sure of how to change it, but I hope for nocturne to receive the same treatment as fiddlesticks. The fear I have when I see paranoia (R) cast is followed by a dark shadow appearing. Maybe just the color palette change is throwing me off. Unfortunately I don't have specific creative feedback for your model work, but I appreciated seeing your process and attention to detail. :)

      I'm sure that with improved sound design he'll look much more terrifying, just like fiddle.
      Also maybe a visual clue around the map that hints at how nocturne affects the environment, like with Swain and his crows

    this is really cool, his design is cool as hell and i love the rework ability ideas. i played a bit of nocturn since he's not too hard to play and he's can be pretty bonkers strong, but i think this rework would make him soo much more fun to play and interesting as well

      I mean this feels like it would be weaker than current Nocturn while also being a bit more annoying to play against. You get near sighted any time he attacks you, but he then doesn't have any of his movespeed to reach you anymore. The Diving into shadows is a pretty interesting concept. What if his Passive auto attacks, and his Q left the black speed trail, but he could follow enemies overwalls with the black trail. That way he is like a nightmare and you can't run from him.

      @@rrteppo it feels like this rework is trying to make noc a bruiser, but at the same time keep him in jungle, by removing his shield, extra damage from q and passive, his ganks would be just awfull, but at the same time he gave him a kayn like ability to gank without R, still the damage output will be weaker and you will almost never land the fear beacuse like i said, you no longer have a shield to dodge stuns.
      Noc top on the other side, would have a totaly useless ability in fights that allows you to escape death at best, but you can use Q to the maximum beacuse of the charged Q heal from minion wave.

    I would suggest his passive boost him more while he is inside living shadow.
    Passive : put W passive in here and also give him atk speed + bonus dmg on hit which is getting stronger for each Mark of Twilight on enemies champions.
    Q : I think take that slow off, since I guess he is already disarm during charge up and that gonna reduce his dps by a lot already.
    W : Remove passive(give that to passive), and make it so it could deal dmg. So he can has something to apply mark at long range. He either need to use it as ganking mobility tool or all in tool to chase down enemy.
    E : Instead of remove the mark , refresh it instead.

      W could have an exception to the passive requirement and apply the passive even without dealing damage. Q could have the passive attack speed that increases when hitting marked targets and the passive could have bonus on-hit damage against marked targets. E could consume the marks to give a shield based on the marks consumed to Nocturne (mimicking his current W barrier) when he initially starts channeling the fear, so he can have an use for the skill even if he can't proc the CC, which will be hard, and still have durability to use it on a full team when diving in a teamfight with his ultimate.

    So, near sighting any champion he hits seems a little strong. Like, I get the point but that is just such a huge debuff as it takes away all sources of information. Since that is the most important thing in league, I think it should be carefully considered. Second, I think you could buff the range on E, or reduce cast time. The idea in the original kit is to stick on someone while you fear them. In this case it feels like it's the same ability but with a tiny buff, enemies would have to basically already be CCd or intentionally not go away from you to get more than one fear. 3rd, change camouflage to stealth. You are already announcing his location, camouflage is really only useful if he uses it to escape and it stops caitlyn from using ult if he escapes over a ward. This is also even less useful if they have the passive applied. As it's basically that everyone has camouglage.
    This might all balance out, I think passive is a bit strong, but E and W are underwhelming. However since this is for game design practice I think there is one thing you could reconsider, that being cohesion. With the exception of Q working with passive, this feels like none of the abilities were designed to work with one another. I also can't seem to find his role now. His ult still gives him the backline dive, and nearsight means you want to pick people off, and isolate combat. If that's the case, why are his Q and E designed to focus on AOE? His W seems like a worse version of his ult, and as I touched on before half the ability is camouflage, which is useless on him. Especially while ult is up.
    Again on cohesion, I think Q and E actually work against eachother. Since Q seems to have a similar range as E when fully charged, you think they could play off one another, but since Q slows you, I'm not sure how it helps. Also since units flee, you could even follow up with Q after E, since the charge ensures you don't get it.
    I don't want to rag on your work, or put you down. But I think you should consider these points, and make a v2. Give the champion an identity, flesh it out, then run through scenarios of how it would play. Best of luck m8.

      the guy did it for fun and it made it look real. ofc the champ would be busted even as it is.. just play him full tank/bruiser with that kit and its the most busted top lane tank/bruiser and a good jungler too... the guy who did this is an artist not a developer and he did an awesome job

      Oh yeah the art design is great. No question there. However this isn't a model update, it's a full VGU. I think hearing some discussion on identity through abilities is important. If everyone just says "wow this is great, send it to riot!" Then he won't get as much out of it. I tried to make the criticism constructive, offering reasons why things don't feel correct, and offering a couple suggestions. I'm not a dev, so I don't know if my comments mean anything anyways, but I see no harm in critiquing parts of this project. He chose to update the abilities as well because that was an aspect he wanted to explore, I just want him to learn as much from this as possible. Even if the primary focus is art. Also Jrf if you read this, Shyvana maybe? I'd love to see some new designs for her.

    The Living Shadow aspect is what catches me the most. This is so epic and fitting to Nocturne, I'm having a hard time to believe, that they didn't already Mini Reworked him into this

    Thats a really cool rework, I really like the visuals and that "from the shadow" ability.
    Here is a kit I imagined for him, might aswell post it here.
    Passive - Paranoïa : clones of your team champions that are not seen by the ennemy will sometimes appear from brushes and fog of war running at ennemy champions and try to cast a decoy spell before disappearing.
    Q-Rampage : Nocturne slashes 3 times rapidly first time with his right blade, second time with his left blade then with both (last hit has a slightly longer range)
    If he hits all 3 strikes he gain a brief movement speed bonus
    W-Shadow veil : Nocturne veils himself with shadow for 1.5 second gaining spellshield, if it is broken he projects the shadows onto the champion that cast it and can recast W to dash behind them dealing a small amount of magic damage.
    E -Nightmarish vision : Nocturne haunts the target with a nightmare, gaining movement speed towards them. If he hits the target 3 times he fears it.
    R : Basically the same as it is now
    Each rank in ult increase the spawnrate of clones from the passive

    THIS IS AMAZING! The art style of the textures is a little off from League's, but with a few tweaks to the textures it honestly looks like something that Riot would release. Even the abilities are really close to the original and actually sound like a proper and interesting rework. You did an amazing job!

    I have got to say, that rework to his E seems extremely healthy. It makes him fit that sort of “dive assassin” model that he was built to fulfill, and instead of running in, fearing ONE person, and dying, he can instead run in with his ult, maybe fear 2-3 people most of the time, kill someone, and have just enough healing to stay in the fight.

      @@adamnguyen966 That seems to be the case, however, we don't have any numbers on any of these theoretical abilities, there could be lethality scaling that makes it simply too pointless to go bruiser, or there could be health scaling to make it more worth going bruiser, we just don't know. We'll just have to wait in the coming years when riot finally gives him the update he needs.

    Honestly, pretty amazing for a nocturne rework considering how difficult it may be. Fiddlesticks already kinda took over the whole 'fear demon' type, so with that kind of difficulty, this is a great alternative.

    I like this design. It makes him scarier and improves the design! Also the fact that you moves the slash from the passive to the q makes him more of a role of a assassin. I also like how the ult was changed very slightly to make it still the same, but able to block the effect with a spell shield, giving it counterplay.

    I really liked your video and your idea. I love how you kept the concept of the champion and change just enough to feel fresh and not a whole new champion, if that makes sense. Congrats, hope this vid gets more views, it really deserves it.

    Great work, just some points to tune:
    1) As some people here already said, instant nearsight on everyone you hit is kinda broken.
    2) It would be cool to make the trails give Noc some more bonuses like they do now. Different bonuses on different abilities could make players consider mixing up the maxing order.
    3) I'd like to emphasize the focus on Nightmare / Dream Demon identity of Nocturne so I let myself change some effect / ability names.
    Considering that:
    P: Enemy champions and large monsters affected by Nocturne's abilities receive [Mark of Twillight] for 5 seconds, causing them to leave behind a [Nightmare Trail] that gains additional properties based on Nocturne's other abilities. Additional attacks / ability hits refresh the duration.
    Marked champions also build up stacks of [Paranoia] by moving away from Nocturne {Like energized buff or Yasuo's passive}
    At 100 stacks [Paranoia] is consumed and target becomes briefly nearsighted {No cd, you keep running away, you keep getting blackouts, maybe make them shorter on consecutive applications, like Kennen passive}
    Q Passive: Nocturne receives bonus AD inside [Nightmare Trail] based on this ability's level
    Active stays as it is
    W: Stays as it is {Or maybe remove the camouflage? Seems kinda redundant with the nearsight effect}
    E Passive: While inside [Nightmare Trail] Nocturne gets bonus attack speed increasing with amount of nearby [Marks of Twillight], up to 5. [Paranoia] activations from nearby champions briefly double this buff. {"Nearby" part so he doesn't get a ton free stats from just pressing R during 1v1} {Alternative version: Reduced damage from marked enemies while inside the trail, briefly increased on those recently affected by [Paranoia] - Could make a more interesting choice of ability maxing order}
    Active: No longer consumes [Marks of twillight], instead increases [Paranoia] buildup speed of affected champions for a few seconds.
    R (Nocturne's coming for you): {Couldn't resist the tempt to make at least one ability a Freddy reference :P}
    Passive - Stepping into [Nightmare Trail] left by another champion also applies / refreshes [Mark of twillight] {Includes the one created by W active}
    1st cast instantly applies [Mark of Twillight] + 100 stacks of [Paranoia] on all enemy champions globally. Nearsight effect caused by this is longer than normal.
    2nd cast makes Nocturne emerge at the end of target champion's [Nightmare Trail] after a short delay and dash unstoppably through all of it towards that target, dealing damage to the main target as well as reduced damage {50%?} to all enemies in the path and sending afterimages with same reduced damage effect through all crossing [Nightmare Trails].

    The visual looks great. The shaders are a masterpiece. I really like the kit too. It still feels like Nocturne, but season twelvified. As for the animations, they might need a little bit of improvement, but overall it's a great work for a 1 man rework. Congratulations!

    One thing that I see with the model and look is that the spikes feel almost too symmetrical, and I think that they could work better as something like the thousand pierced bear skin, semi littered through his back. The other thing is that the "tail" looks, at least to me, out of place going down, as I have also felt like nocturne "slithered" through the air, but other then that I love making his kit follow his passive, and could make him super fun to play, I love the W. Still felt like nocturne though, which is a good thing

    This is actually a pretty cool idea for a rework. The W is really interesting. Great job with all the 3D modeling and animating. It looks amazing

    The model looks a little simplistic, and I wonder how much "binding himself to an object" overlaps with the reworked Fiddlesticks' concept of "using objects to create a body."
    With that being said, the commitment and effort that went into this is phenomenal, and I like that his new kit has a focus on sight, instead of just fear. The new fear ability is like a combination of Fiddle's W and Warwick's E, and I couldn't be happier about it. Awesome job.

    It looks cool, but it's too simple. He doesn't look so scary. I think something scarier, like a huge axe, that someone has struck at him, being stuck in his arm and he uses it as a weapon could be cool. Or maybe make weapons out of his shadowy body, instead of glueing blades to him.

      I think Nocturne's look is not supposed to be scary in the same way as Fiddlesticks. It simple should just give you a shiver down the spine.

    I have a small idea to follow the nightmare theme of the champion: When Nocturne casts his R on an enemy champion he sends "nightmare illusions" to all enemies who are not his initial target, the illusions disappear when they come in contact with the enemies, except for the original target of the ultimate. This can lead to a sense of fear to all enemies until they realize it was only an illusion

    Overall I would say the theme is nailed down with looks and the kit, so very good job on that. But some abilities need some little changes, not too much though.
    Passive: Mark of Twillight should give attackspeed on a target instead of causing it to become nearsighted. (The loss of the spellshield means no attackspeed boost). Nocturne also gains ''Ghosted'' while the mark is active.
    Q: Should be only a quick tab only but has 3 charges with intervals of 0.5 seconds. Nocturne heals increasily when he hits 2-5 enemies. (otherwise what you wanted is almost 1:1 indentical to Darius Q)
    W: Passive shifted to Mark of Twillight. Active: Nocturne is only invisible to enemies outside the zone. Enemies inside the zone see Nocturne and become invisible for their team (but not Nocturne's) and are marked for as long as they stay in it. If they stay in it for 2 seconds they are ''grounded''. Once the Zone depletes Mark of Twillight gets resetted. Enemy pings cannot be seen by their allies Inside. (Overall, camouflage is thanks to Riot very overused and at least that way it has a unique feeling to it)
    E: Stay the same
    Ultimate: Same thing but Nocturne gets his old spellshield when he dashes to an Enemy. (that way he is not punished for using his ult in a teamfight).

    Its really awesome, the only thing I would modify a little is the passive. The blinding effect of the ult is already enough to make you lose a team fight because you can't see your teammates in the bushes or on the other side of the wall. That's why this effect is only applied when you ult

    I really like that concept art. Nice work on the fan rework, it looks great, and has some solid mechanic ideas.
    Personally, I think his kit is completely fine as it is, nor do I think he is in desperate need of a visual rework, but I do think that his visuals have a lot of potential for a really awesome update like you did here.

    Ability/Mechanic wise, the only thing I would add is for the wave on W to also cause damage and inflict "Mark of Twilight", as a reference to the current Q ability of Nocturne, and for him to be able to also "swim" inside the dark trail left by "Mark of Twilight" during W's duration or even as part of his passive.
    But this is genuinely FIRE.

    I remember noctur'ns old lore, where summoners were part of the rune terra universe, nocturn being a nightmare demon to them, then the summoners try to summon him, he ends up slaughtering a bunch of summoners, and then he got put in the league as if they were to kill him, he would just continue to haunt their dreams

    I always thought of nocturne as the kog'maw in meele version, building rage blade and aa'ing people to death. With your idea of the q that would amplify this thought even more and taht would be so cool.

    I absolutely love the new kit, because in a way, you didn't change anything. They still work together, just more smoothly, and it's more versatile. You can still tell it's Nocturne and he still has the same feel to it. Especially the synergy between the passive and the ult. I didn't realize his odd spines were part of a torture device, so I think it would be cool if that was more clear, or visible, or if he used them as blades. Something along those lines.

    The smoothness of his body makes him look like a minion or a non-champion unit(before the others put their pitchforks and torches up) this is sick for a reworked concept of Nocturne.
    I guess make his body shrouded in dark cloud or smoke with a little red effect like on his tail end to make it more sinister or horrific.

    I think my only criticism is that his E is too similar to both fiddlesticks drain and morgana R. Mostly morgana R. And because of that similarity it likely would need to be changed to be more unique. Maybe instead of a tether, he could have an AOE (such as mordekaiser) around him and those who remain in this AOE get feared? This way it is mechanically the same as you proposed, but visually and gameplay wise, it would feel distinct

    Having the textures of his "skin" writhe like tentacles would have really sold the whole "living shadow" thing Nocturne a bit more. Or just having little tendrils poking out randomly from hos body would have done the trick.

    I find it very cool how you did it, it doesn't look unbalanced at all, on the contrary, it's a good champion for beginners and especially for jungle, because to "W", it's kind of Pyke W+E, but without to deal damage and stun.
    W Is very good and my favorite just because, when you want to steal Dragon or Baron with smite. A very balanced champion, good job and I really want this rework on Nocturne!

    Honestly, as a gdd major this is wonderful. Keeps the main idea behind his all of his abilities while shuffling around the power to make each one new and refreshing. While i do think is w is a bit overloaded an without caveat, removing the passive or making it so that it only happens out of combat and it has a combat passive might be a better idea. Some sort of conditions to make it not a win in any situation, like giving it a clear purpose as his other 3 abilities have. Other than that i really like how you made thr passive mark replace the ult status. Allowing it to be clenses but in return having it come into play more often. Love that shift in power a lot.

    When you said about nocturne being your first champion, I remembered the first rework poll (back in 2019), which Riot said literally that he is the most popular champion among new players, I was one of these players too, and I choose he in the two polls

    But honestly I would like to change a little bit.
    Like this:
    Passive
    (1) Fear Hunter: Nocturne gains [enter value]% Omnivamp on feared targets.
    (2) Deadly Nighmare: damaging an Asleep target instantly fears [enter duration] them and deal [enter value, damageType] (a lot of damae). And very cool animation on target's screen.
    Q
    Same of yours, but has a little bit of omnivamp and maybe amplified damage on jngl monsters (for jngl priority)
    W
    Shadow Stalker: skillshot [enter shape, range, speed] that goes through enemies. Deals [enter value, damageType]. All enemy champions hit are marked [enter duration].
    Nocturne tracks and gains movement speed [enter value] and can walk through terrain chasing marked enemies (but he needs to chase them, like Warwick's W).
    Enemy champions that were already marked by Shadow Stalker also get slowed [enter value, duration].
    E
    Sleep Honey, We'll meet There: Nocturne targets a single marked enemy champion (he chooses which one), and start a canalization [enter duration] on this one. The mark duration it's increased on the target as long as the canalization gets completed or interrupted. If the target gets too far away from Nocturne [enter range], the canalization gets interrupted. If the canalization is completed the mark gets consumed and the target instantly falls asleep [enter duration].
    R
    Terrifying Assault: [enter range]
    (1): Nocturne disappears and becomes untargettable while invokes the power of shadows, reducing the vision of the enemy team.
    (2): Nocturne targets an enemy champion marking him, and appears behind him, dealing AoE damage [enter value, damageType] all around the target, and fears all non marked enemies hitted.
    Maybe R is a little bit broken (juuuusttt a little bit XD) and can be fixed this way: Nocturne doesn't disappear and doesn't become untargettable anymore, instead starts a canalization [enter duration] and gets a shield [enter value, stats]. If the canalization gets interrupted, R goes on cooldown.
