As for season 2 being better than the first season, that's the whole point of sequels, to progress the story further and add onto the last part. Konosuba makes sure not to jump the shark and go at a steady increase, so it never drops off.
Darkness is a subversion of the "secret noble" archetype in fantasy. She has a loving father, her arranged marriage partner is a reasonable man, and she's not exactly the purest person.
The thief was chris. Kazuma actually kept holding his tracksuit if u look closely at the very end of the first episode of season 2 thats why its still there... not sure about megumins staff though...
I think the first season was more introducing the characters and establishing them and stuff, while the second season just lets them loose in their shenanigans since we already know these characters, which makes season 2 funnier.
Keep in mind that in that world, 15 is already marriageable age. Darkness being 18 there was considered "long overdue" for marriage that's why her dad is wanting to marry her off. Hearing that she might have a grandchild also is a cause for joy, since he also wants one already.
About the track suit. Watch the end of episode 1 S2 again. It was never really shown that they took the track suit. Kazuma was holding on to it. It was never shown that they really took it. He probably convinced them that its just worthless clothes ^^
Haha, glad you guys enjoyed that! Seriously, Season 2 just went on the high gear with the comedy because they finally finished setting up the introductory pieces. Season 1 had some pacing issues, even skipping some character introduction. And it feels dated, mostly because it was still trying to find its rhythm. Thankfully, that was over and done with, and improved vastly that continues on towards the movie, which I hope you guys would be able to watch. And yes Chris is the thief girl. And if you guys know who Chris really is, you will realize how much of a better goddess Eris is compared to Aqua.

While Aqua is a goddess aside from those saps she drags into this world and maybe those fish, no one believes she is a goddess. She doesn't even think to show them her guild card, which lists her race as goddess. Darkness, and likely her family, worships a different goddess, so I'm not sure if she can annul their marriage anyway.
I loved this episode, it was super fun... but i am glad this is the only episode of this season that they made Darkness boobs that way. It was a different director for this episode in specific, thats why the huge difference in animation.
I think they're slowly buying their stuff back as they pay for the debt, that's why the things they took are coming back, that or they somehow paid for a few things so they don't take them
There is a movie and an OVA after season 2, Season 2, OVA's and the movie are all much better than season1 (the movie is canon btw so its sorta like a season 3) Yh Chris was the thief
