- A tribute to sensei Kentaro Miura, creator of Berserk, in FINAL FANTASY XIV Online by it's incredible and wonderful community in Ul'Dah, Chaos - Spriggan.
I've joined the memorial and stayed there for 3-4 hours with my friends too.
I love it when people in games do this kind of stuff. ♥

Rest in Peace, Dr Kentaro Miura, its been a fun struggle. Can't believe how much of you I saw in life, without knowing that those were the works you inspired, before finally watching Berserk 1997, then reading the manga. You will truly be missed, but thanks for creating this era, and everything that makes us who we are. Xx

I got my first batch of Berserk Deluxe Volumes the night the tweet came out and I still have the screenshots favorited in my camera roll. Will always mourn and respect Miura San for every moment of my life. I haven’t been the same person since I’ve read the manga, watched all videos I can on Miura, the philosophy and religious inspirations that we can find in the manga plus Gätz lol… I love playing Souls games, Blasphemous has references to it.
I’m always adapting to change much better I’m 23 so I’m still young. I have a dormant rage inside from my traumatic experiences at home and in school. I connect with these characters more than any other in media it’s my favorite. Just want to make my life better by focusing on family and taking care of neurodivergent kids at my job.

This was beautifull to watch, i'm sad that Miura died without finishing Berserk, but i'm more happy by the simple fact that it existed and that it made such a great impact in many people's lifes, rest in peace Miura, and thank you for creating Berserk

I was a part of the vigil on Mateus. I spent seven hours in the line and have never been more proud of our community. Time and again we come together to unite over what's important, and it's just great. I'm honoured to be a part of it. Miura was an incredible artist, and he'll be sorely missed. The Bonefire shines on.

The stance on 3PP for FFXIV is somewhat lax as long as they don't provide any advantage to players in terms of combat, raids and PvP. As far as I understand, it's a 'see-don't-tell' and 'we won't make a fuss out of it if you don't'.
The only stories I've heard where SE took action was when performance mode was used to play certain copyrighted music, recorded, and then posted on TH-cam. But that was years ago, literally on the server days of yore. And it was more of a video takedown rather than an in-game ban.
I have literally not heard of anyone getting banned via Performance mode. (just don't go spamming chat that you're using a 3PP and posting links and what not). It's player action that often forces GMs to move and people in FFXIV are cool enough to just enjoy the music instead.

A Final Fantasy game set in Berserk would be an ultimate send off to an amazing world.
I started during that and only heard the news later. Definitely the most memorable first day I've had in an MMO.

It's not the first time FF XIV players have done something like this either. Back when a player tragically passed away from COVID, their Free Company (Guild/Clan) members arranged a memorial/funeral service for them....and *the entire server* (more or less) showed up to attend, walking across the in-game maps on foot to the designated location for the service, all in order to pay their respects and honor the memory of a fallen comrade, even if they had personally never met the player in question.
FF XIV easily has one of the absolute nicest and friendliest communities I've ever been in, and out of all the MMOs I've played (with FF XIV being one of only two MMO's I've ever paid a subscription fee for) I would rank FF XIV's community as the second best I've ever been a part of. My number one pick? A free-to-play MMO whose official servers shut down back in 2014: Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE: Online (though there is a fan-made and run server of the game up and running called RE:IMAGINE if you want to give it a try, the game is 100% free to play as well, you literally couldn't put real money into it even if you *wanted* to).
Plus, there's a very good reason why World of Warcraft is hemorrhaging players while FF XIV is steadily gaining new players (more than a few even being "refugees" from WoW). SquareEnix actually *listens* to their player base and readily accepts constructive criticisms and suggestions from their players, and tries to take that input into account whenever they release a new patch or expansion. The game really only gets better and better over time and with every new expansion. Blizzard by contrast really only sees their own players as "money fountains", and they respond in a far more toxic manner to criticism and player frustration/dissatisfaction, and they have been steadily and rapidly going downhill for quite a while now.

This is what got me to sign up for FFXIV. My *mother* knew Miura was gone 2 weeks before I did because of FFXIV tributes in game. No one in WoW even mentioned it.

Though I haven't read berserk yet ( due to the fact that I'm 13 and I dont think my parents would rlly like me reading such a dark story at such a young age.) I was still kind of devastated when I heard the news. He was an incredibly talented person and a huge inspiration on aspiring mangaka ( me included although I'm not Japanese so I dont know how that will work out.) And people who were going through tough times in general. It's truly sad to see him go... you will be missed

Damn man it looks like he spent most of his time drawing berserk, even when he didn't wanted to and I think he somewhat regretted being a manga artist but he kept going on despite regret, sickness and little sleep.
I admire him he's like guts giving his all for what he has and loves, and man damn I want to be like him. I too want to be someone with that immense passion and discipline.
Miura sensei was one of a kind and I love him with all my heart.

@@jondoandel3173 yeah I known right? But the shader I used isn't for gameplay but only for pics and videos.
First of all, you have to download the GShade (it's easy to find), then you have to download the "Fashionista" presets for GShade. Set up everything and your're done.
The preset I used in this video is the "Fashionista Koji" preset, but for gameplay I suggest WitchMoonforGemaplay preset. 😊
Be aware that using shaders is against of the ToS of FFXIV.

Of course, nothing is more representative and symbolic of berserk and it's many themes and lessons than the bonfire of dreams. And everyone having their own little bonfire of dreams makes it all the more perfect. Tho it would have been cool if they could have somehow made it one big giant bonfire that everyone circles around and pays tribute to. Or hell, if it was allowed, we'd all hold hands around the giant bonfire of dreams and sing kumbaya.
