Amazing! After buying a locked down device. I can then buy a second device that will let me add storage and provide it to the locked down device over network. Anybody else see the absurdity?
Hasn't made sense for Apple to do this until recently because of iOS. If they add a slot for more storage then users would expect to access this from any app. Now we have a Files app this kind of thing is more realistic. Can't say I've missed this feature though. On the rare occasions I wanted physical external storage i just use a tiny cheap sd to lightning adapter. Everything is internet based these days.
Which is why you get the microsoft pro, as that does EVERYTHING any business person needs and more. So the games are not as good...who cares!??? The op system is much better when you think you can add memory to your hearts content with great function...or so I feel. You get MORE bang for the buck and then some! Just my 2 cents. And I don't need all the 'extra' crap to haul around...:) Works for me!!
Vicki k Gibson , AGREED!! Apple has everyone brainwashed, under its spell. It is so over rated and difficult to do many things not supported by Apple. I finally “opened my eyes” and realized that there were superior alternatives on the market. Apple is dead to me...
This is WAY too slow. If you have enough content to move around that you need a terabyte hard drive, you'd lose your mind dealing with this. I can't even imagine trying to send a video file to edit over this thing. It took forever just for the image previews to show up. Video?? Forget about it. I wish there was a plug and play method to take advantage of the USB C port. I'd ditch my Macbook in a heartbeat if storage wasn't such an issue when working with client video and photo files.

And thanks again for uploading! I’m subscribed, so good job!
This is no solution at all. Out of the box, the iPad can connect to a filesystem with video on it. This gives almost nothing further. If it had a filesystem that allowed access to non-media files and reliably allowed a send to app function, then fine. But the fact that you don't even mention this lack seems deceptive. I love my iPads, but this is nothing new at all.
The title says “connect any iPad to a hard drive”. The video shows how to access files on a NAS from an iPad. Very different things. The title is almost clickbate. I appreciate the creator but the title is misleading.

there is no usb c, this is wifi. You can do this with a router, no need to buy this...
@@_Digitalguy Yes yes I got it.!
you need to remove link url as hardware not available. Ravpower is sending your data to china according to some reports read today.
Can you download apps on to the hard drive then move those apps to another device or use the apps?
Have few iPads at home, def need to increase storage with that ravpower filehub thingy! Tks Jared for the vid!
Few iPads? What model are they?
gυяυвυlυ • few pieces of ipad
how long does it takes to copy photo 4gb from ipad to external hdd by ravpower? thanks for sharing
WOW! SOOOOO glad to know about this - thank you!
I have a lot of individual photos on my Ipad. If I buy the router can I mass transfer my photos to my portable drive with it ?
Yes you can.
Amazing! After buying a locked down device. I can then buy a second device that will let me add storage and provide it to the locked down device over network. Anybody else see the absurdity?
I know. Apple does what Apple does though.
Ridiculous. Just put the features to iOS 13 and be done with this.
Yeah. It's fucking absured you think that paying $800-$2000 justifies you having the ability to add external storage. You people are so greedy.
Boycotted the big Apple along time ago
Hasn't made sense for Apple to do this until recently because of iOS. If they add a slot for more storage then users would expect to access this from any app. Now we have a Files app this kind of thing is more realistic. Can't say I've missed this feature though. On the rare occasions I wanted physical external storage i just use a tiny cheap sd to lightning adapter. Everything is internet based these days.
SERIOUSLY!!!! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS!!!!
It's insane all the extra crap you have to buy to get at iPad to do any of the daily things you actually need them to do.
Surface Pro is awesome, and does it all exceedingly well!!! I used to be an Apple “user”, customer, whatever you want to call it. I finally “opened my eyes” and realized that there were superior alternatives on the market. Apple is dead to me...
I am unable to find this RavPower device on Amazon. Any ideas where I can purchase one?
This is WAY too slow. If you have enough content to move around that you need a terabyte hard drive, you'd lose your mind dealing with this. I can't even imagine trying to send a video file to edit over this thing. It took forever just for the image previews to show up. Video?? Forget about it.
I wish there was a plug and play method to take advantage of the USB C port. I'd ditch my Macbook in a heartbeat if storage wasn't such an issue when working with client video and photo files.
Hey man. Keep making the videos you’re making, however consider your dialogue. It took you almost 4 minutes in an 8 min video to get to the point and for viewers, a lot of us aren’t going to set around waiting for someone to spill the beans. But please don’t be offended. I want to do videos too and once I do I’ll hope to get your feedback to help me create content that’s subscription worthy. Which means great info fast that’s entertaining. So thankful I found this info out via your creation and upload of this content. Just give the goods quicker and then tell us all that filler you put in the beginning. Sorry for being to the point.
What is model # of the rev you are using.
Does it open data files like Word, PDF etc from the external hard drive?
I’d also like to know this as well .. it’s my determining factor on whether I purchase it or not

Yes that's more important for me
Heaven forbid people should go do a lil reading like you did @@KevinLiew
Does it also play straight from the router? Or do you have to transfer the media over to the iPad?
@n0148813: 04:00 did you watch the entire video??
The title says “connect any iPad to a hard drive”. The video shows how to access files on a NAS from an iPad. Very different things. The title is almost clickbate. I appreciate the creator but the title is misleading.
The title says "Connect Any Hard Drive to an iPad Pro"
Nice vid! I have a 2020 iPad pro? Would it work with that with no issues?👍
iPad:*saw “Samsung” name
iPad: *OH HELL NAAAAAWWW*
Is there hotspot-able version?
For 1000 bucks it should have full Mac OS on it by now
No thanks. If you want macOS buy a Mac. iPad is a touch device optimized for... you know, touch. I don't say it does not need improvement but it is going to stay iOS and won't become an awkward hybrid like the Surface.
Daniel Kovács I hear you
Modfather 3 they sell a device like that. It’s called MacBook.
look at you guys justifying ios for 1000 bucks. so stupid. so much power for no show.
Nash Dasmurayan what task specifically are you looking to complete that you cannot with the iPad?
Which is the best format for my SSD external to use it in my ipad pro?
Its not a hard drive, its a solid state drive
Is it wireless
So you didn't connect your drive to your ipad... you just did it over wifi, misleading info...
Is not this actually better? Who wants to have a drive dangling off an iPad.
@@Boxhead42 pretty much everyone who handles big ass files, wifi is slow as fuck.
This is the reason why ipad can never subtitute normal laptop for work (at the moment), it cant do easy things like connect usb drive via its only usb c port. Ipad is only suitable for multimedia and fun things.
