      As if there was the same amount of traffic 24/7. They deter lowered undrivable pieces of crap whose owners lose their ebay plastic and build their funny ramps everywhere. I bet you that those two speed bumps significantly improve the quality of the car meet. And as has been demonstrated here, 90% of cars do not have any problem driving over.

  • @HollisonHusky
    @HollisonHusky 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1459

    They've purposefully spaced those bumps so the second bump impacts the front bumper as the rear wheels go over the first set, making the front bumper lower due to the angle of the car. I'd be looking at lodging charges against the council for setting out to intentionally damage cars. That, or I'd go to their car staff car park and install some "speed bumps" for them.

    Our local council (suburban Sydney AU) put a heap of aggressive bumps like this in, on a MAIN road! Local residents complained about the noise, but they ignored the people. So the people took matters into their own hands. Every night, many pieces would go missing. They’re only held in with a masonry bolt screwed into a plastic core that’s hammered down into a hole drilled into the road surface. Easily removed, but also easily replaced every couple of days by council workers who seemed to have an endless supply of bump parts. So now they screw the bolts back down and whip the heads off with a battery grinder. Takes about a week before council install more, as they have to spend ages removing the cut off bolts, or drill new holes.
    But the latest one was a ripper. I’m told it was a 50/50 mix of diesel and ULP, poured all over the bumps, and set on fire. After a good 30-60 seconds a nice heavy truck comes along and does a few lap. Not only flattens them, but embeds the covers in so they can’t access the bolts to replace the flat sections. It’s been 4 weeks now, and the flattened bumps still haven’t been replaced.

      Locally here at the park they installed these literal CURB type speedbumps, Trapezoidal about the height of an actual curb. It is extremely damaging to normal car suspensions. You have to idle over them and climb them like you would a curb. Problem is.. they are concrete and a permanent fixture. We'd need jackhammers to extract them.

    The thing is if a speed bump damages your vehicle the council or retail site owners are then responsible for the repair costs.
    It’s the same with pot holes in the road, if they damage your vehicle the council is responsible for the cost of the damage done.
    But the idiots at the retail site and the council still keep installing so call speed bumps.
    So of the have damaged your vehicle contact them with an invoice for the cost of repairs, stating that’s what the owe you, and give them a set amount of time to settle the amount on the invoice and for your inconvenience.
    State legal court action will be taken if it is not settled. Then if they don’t settle take them to the small claims court. In which you sue them for the cost of repairs, the inconvenience to you and your time plus court fees.

Everyday I go over the rail track that let's our big steel gate slide open and close, if im slow whole car moves around because the suspension isn't under load. Couple that with a passenger holding drinks that you just bought and if you're in an automatic, it's riding both the throttle and brake at the same time. Wouldn't want to take a manual on something like that.
    I even hated it in the wagon I had with fairly high ride height and soft suspension, because it just forces the springs to compress a lot. I ended up just simply parking and walking in whenever I went there to save me the trouble. Probably should've quit fast food right there and then tbh.

    I am not a fan of slammed cars personally but at least here in the states anyone who has them including my friends carry wood blocks. because we have some anti car stuff like this that gets to around 8-9 inches so they just bring wood blocks around and some meets even lay the ramps at the start and leave them there.

    I live about 15 mins away from here. Didn’t know they held car meets there. Also to avoid some of the bottoming out over the bump they should take the speed bumps all the way to the left so only two wheels go over them as there’s a massive gap between the curb and speed bumps. I do it all the time a lot better that way and less damage.

      Speed bumps are not the answer. They cause unnecessary damage to the suspension which always confused me since we are trying to be sustainable. How is wasting good suspension being sustainable? Chicanes where one way have to give way are the answer. No silly speed bumps, forces people to slow down. Nobody can’t slow down. With speed bumps, if you have an off-road style vehicle you can launch it over then without slowing down at all
