It sounds both epic and somewhat tragic at the same time, which it fits considering that we are facing the White Fleet, the ceremonial airforce Airship used as a symbol of unity for the Cascadians, now twisted and re-armed for nothing more than war and destruction. War brings hatred, and hatred can corrupt even those who claims to be the "Good Guys".
Also, if Vita's (who, unlike Kaiser, is a confirmed Oceanian) words are any indication, Cascadia might actually have had a number of skeletons in its own closet since the time while it was still a member of the Federation.

I really liked General Faust. Her voice actor did a fantastic job, the Faust's character is really interesting. All the things she said about the Oceanian War, and how Vita responded with the fact that the Cascadians did the most damage to his country really makes me wonder just how much is Cascadia hiding. So excited to see more expansion to this story, theres so much potential.

@@JosePavli Oh, the VA's performance was stellar, actually every VA did incredible in this expansion, that wasn't my issue. It's that the difficulty of the fight is way too high for the lower difficulties, and the insane ramblings were a bit... much on the writing.

Crimson was way harder than this i actually would like that the MPBM shells did way more damage 10 each and the lasers 50 so you actually are encouraged to dodge them, right now you can just fly through it and receive little damage.
@@AiRPasternak Never got to play the game but saw several playthroughs of it I get what you mean. For a fight that supposedly was to be a sort of reference to Torres and his white sheets addiction, I never felt that the airships posed any significant threat. Yeah they made the target points more spongy and the explosion effects looked cool, but as a whole it didn't feel that much different from the airship raid we did in Sawakii. Maybe if we didn't stop them they would have blown up the cordium deposits in front of them that would have brought more urgency to the mission but beyond that just circling and launching MLAAs, it felt a little to simple I guess.

I really wonder what Fause was trying to achieve here by attacking the facility. We learned in mission 4 that most of the production lines rely on Cascadia's production of Cordium- so other than the pre-production ones, we can assume Magadan's cordium facility was one of the few facility that could potentially produce Cordium Missiles- and Faust, invaded a whole ass country against Stardust's commands, killed millions of innocent Magadans, tries to take the matter to her own hands and sends her white fleet, once a proud vessel of peace now refurbished for war. Whatever she tried to achieve- it was too little, too late. Cordium Missiles, were already in posession to the Federation, and was used in Prospero while the last forefather burnt down. In doing so, they extended the war for at least another two months(somehow the counter-offensive forces in Magadan got incenerated by the Ring of Fire due to prospero? who knows, but if thats the case Feds shot their foot) made Stardust pull out the ultimate card to persuade the sucessor of Cabal to their help, and make a Cascadian, fighting for the federation, go insane and then start a 3rd calamity(on top of the 2nd calamity they just initiated in this mission) Honestly, great ending- I agree on whoever said in Kings, that Project Wingman takes a more "realistic" approach compared to ace combat- and this is the pinnacle. War is war. It's orange, but nobody wins. We all loose.

It was said that this could cause pressure to balloon elsewhere, most likely indirectly referring to the chain reaction caused in Prospero. that reaction would then spread to the rest of the ring of fire. And yeah, i agree, the writing of this game has no right to be so good
To me it seems like she could be going to stop missile production, but in my opinion I think she was just trying to cut their geothermal energy. Without those refineries she could freeze the Federation, both politically and LITERALLY for their northern cities. Faust was desperate to stop the Deal from being activated at any cost - whatever she saw in Oceania motivated her to think it was a better idea to send her fleet into a suicide mission than to let that thing be released into the world - and so the only thing she could do was try to damage the Federation enough for them to pull back and stop the counteroffensive, preventing the Deal from being activated. Yeah though, she tragically directly contributed to it by causing the dumping of neutralizing agents, which cooked the RoF even harder when the Federation nuked Prospero. It’s sad, she only wanted to prevent that kind of escalation.

the overall invasion was 1) disrupting federation infrastructure in the homeland to frustrate their efforts in cascadia, and 2) getting revenge and satisfying their bloodlust on the federation the facility attack was the final hail mary after the rest of the invasion had been driven out
She wanted to completely destroy the Federation to "secure Cascadia's future." All she did was seal its fate; by laying waste to Magadan, she made Crystal Kingdom realize that the Cascadians not only could fight back effectively against them, but simultaneously invade a Core State. Coupled with their immense losses at Monarch's hands, they became desperate enough to unleash the cordium missiles, and it all went downhill from there, due to one woman's insanity and hatred.
Stuff like this is why I love the arcade flight genre. You have the wackiest damn scenario of a flying ship shooting lasers, missiles and flak at your tiny ass plane while a rock band orchestra is playing in the background like it’s the most intense thing in your life. To paraphrase a video I saw of Ace Combat: It makes you FEEL.
Oh man. This is a GOOD. Probably inching out showdown 2.0 as my favorite for this dlc. It really feels like if Doom and Top Gun had a baby with some ace combat mixed in. Probably in my top five from this game at this point, and that’s without even knowing what the mission this accompanies
Bruh Crimson 1 nuked his own home, shot everyone down during a ceasefire, and started a second apocalypse. Faust is crazy but not as deranged as Crimson.
@@hangdog355 Faust was in command of multiple CIF units numbering in the hundreds of thousands, used all of them for a personal vendetta, and abandoned not only every single one of them but even her own post as soon as the slightest interference was met with K-9. The way I understand it is, if her plans had succeeded in Missions 5 and 6, she would have caused in Magadan tenfold what Crimson 1 did to Presidia. Also, Crimson 1 didn't start a second apocalypse, that was the Federation as a whole during Prospero. The Presidia event was localized to Presidia (and Mercenary difficulty confirms many people survived anyway).
Would've also probably shot her nation to hell likewise, both in reputation and physically@@SlyAceZeta There remains the chance that disillusioned elements leak her actions public

I was at school when I came home to lean all about the PW F59, and see all the music videos at 500 odd view 7 hors after they were posted, now look at them.
This is utterly incredible, Senor Pavli. Phenomenal composition. The use of vocals, drums, and the electric guitar are an excellent contrast to tell the tale of the enemy. Looking forwards to playing this myself one day.
Is FRONTLINE 59 on PC yet? I've heard this song on repeat so many times I think I hard-saved it into my brain. I dont even know what's the mission that this plays at is.
Damn, this makes me wish I could play Frontline 59. I played Project Wingman on Xbox and absolutely loved every bit of it, especially the music. Hearing this now, it is a tough comparison. I am mostly just frustrated that I do not have anything to play this new story though.

I am not surprised that you worked with Vincent Moretto on this song. I remember your comment on his cover of Kings and you were very impressed with his work. This theme seems fitting for fighting someone who gave themselves over completely to Khorne from WarHammer.
Imagine if in the final mission of the game K-9 team runs into Monarch and Hitman Team who proceeds to shoot down the entire squadron just showing the utter terror they'd inflicted on the Federation. Bonus points if Monarch's theme plays in the engagement.

Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows and she started to show signs of Khorne corruption at the end (even if this is not a WarHammer game). The "heroic" image America fosters does not seem to be compatible with Khorne from WarHammer.

@@JosePavli Oh, the VA's performance was stellar, actually every VA did incredible in this expansion, that wasn't my issue. It's that the difficulty of the fight is way too high for the lower difficulties, and the insane ramblings were a bit... much on the writing.

Crimson was way harder than this i actually would like that the MPBM shells did way more damage 10 each and the lasers 50 so you actually are encouraged to dodge them, right now you can just fly through it and receive little damage.
@@AiRPasternak Never got to play the game but saw several playthroughs of it I get what you mean. For a fight that supposedly was to be a sort of reference to Torres and his white sheets addiction, I never felt that the airships posed any significant threat. Yeah they made the target points more spongy and the explosion effects looked cool, but as a whole it didn't feel that much different from the airship raid we did in Sawakii.
Maybe if we didn't stop them they would have blown up the cordium deposits in front of them that would have brought more urgency to the mission but beyond that just circling and launching MLAAs, it felt a little to simple I guess.

I really wonder what Fause was trying to achieve here by attacking the facility. We learned in mission 4 that most of the production lines rely on Cascadia's production of Cordium- so other than the pre-production ones, we can assume Magadan's cordium facility was one of the few facility that could potentially produce Cordium Missiles- and Faust, invaded a whole ass country against Stardust's commands, killed millions of innocent Magadans, tries to take the matter to her own hands and sends her white fleet, once a proud vessel of peace now refurbished for war. Whatever she tried to achieve- it was too little, too late. Cordium Missiles, were already in posession to the Federation, and was used in Prospero while the last forefather burnt down. In doing so, they extended the war for at least another two months(somehow the counter-offensive forces in Magadan got incenerated by the Ring of Fire due to prospero? who knows, but if thats the case Feds shot their foot) made Stardust pull out the ultimate card to persuade the sucessor of Cabal to their help, and make a Cascadian, fighting for the federation, go insane and then start a 3rd calamity(on top of the 2nd calamity they just initiated in this mission)
Honestly, great ending- I agree on whoever said in Kings, that Project Wingman takes a more "realistic" approach compared to ace combat- and this is the pinnacle.

There's a voiceline within the FL59 campaign that explains that at the Cordium refineries that were under attack, the engineers were forced to dump neutralizing agents into the cordium veins. It was said that this could cause pressure to balloon elsewhere, most likely indirectly referring to the chain reaction caused in Prospero. that reaction would then spread to the rest of the ring of fire.
And yeah, i agree, the writing of this game has no right to be so good
To me it seems like she could be going to stop missile production, but in my opinion I think she was just trying to cut their geothermal energy. Without those refineries she could freeze the Federation, both politically and LITERALLY for their northern cities. Faust was desperate to stop the Deal from being activated at any cost - whatever she saw in Oceania motivated her to think it was a better idea to send her fleet into a suicide mission than to let that thing be released into the world - and so the only thing she could do was try to damage the Federation enough for them to pull back and stop the counteroffensive, preventing the Deal from being activated.
Yeah though, she tragically directly contributed to it by causing the dumping of neutralizing agents, which cooked the RoF even harder when the Federation nuked Prospero. It’s sad, she only wanted to prevent that kind of escalation.

the facility attack was the final hail mary after the rest of the invasion had been driven out
She wanted to completely destroy the Federation to "secure Cascadia's future." All she did was seal its fate; by laying waste to Magadan, she made Crystal Kingdom realize that the Cascadians not only could fight back effectively against them, but simultaneously invade a Core State. Coupled with their immense losses at Monarch's hands, they became desperate enough to unleash the cordium missiles, and it all went downhill from there, due to one woman's insanity and hatred.

Stuff like this is why I love the arcade flight genre. You have the wackiest damn scenario of a flying ship shooting lasers, missiles and flak at your tiny ass plane while a rock band orchestra is playing in the background like it’s the most intense thing in your life.

Oh man. This is a GOOD. Probably inching out showdown 2.0 as my favorite for this dlc. It really feels like if Doom and Top Gun had a baby with some ace combat mixed in. Probably in my top five from this game at this point, and that’s without even knowing what the mission this accompanies

@@hangdog355 Faust was in command of multiple CIF units numbering in the hundreds of thousands, used all of them for a personal vendetta, and abandoned not only every single one of them but even her own post as soon as the slightest interference was met with K-9. The way I understand it is, if her plans had succeeded in Missions 5 and 6, she would have caused in Magadan tenfold what Crimson 1 did to Presidia. Also, Crimson 1 didn't start a second apocalypse, that was the Federation as a whole during Prospero. The Presidia event was localized to Presidia (and Mercenary difficulty confirms many people survived anyway).
Would've also probably shot her nation to hell likewise, both in reputation and physically@@SlyAceZeta

If it was any other city we probably would've cared less. Faust meanwhile literally is planning a genocide of the Federation, and if she had succeeded in Magadan it's not far-fetched to think she would have gone for the other Cordium-rich states as well

I was at school when I came home to lean all about the PW F59, and see all the music videos at 500 odd view 7 hors after they were posted, now look at them.
This is utterly incredible, Senor Pavli. Phenomenal composition. The use of vocals, drums, and the electric guitar are an excellent contrast to tell the tale of the enemy. Looking forwards to playing this myself one day.
Is FRONTLINE 59 on PC yet? I've heard this song on repeat so many times I think I hard-saved it into my brain. I dont even know what's the mission that this plays at is.
Damn, this makes me wish I could play Frontline 59. I played Project Wingman on Xbox and absolutely loved every bit of it, especially the music. Hearing this now, it is a tough comparison. I am mostly just frustrated that I do not have anything to play this new story though.
