Very good video. As for the “problems” you listed that are common…. Meh… they aren’t that common. Only the targa top leak - caused by old rubber deal. Just put some silicone on it along the edge - you can’t even see it - and it won’t ever “leak” again. Btw the “leak” is an occasional drip or two. The biggest thing with a del sol is chassis flex. You can hear and feel it when pulling into a steep driveway at an angle.
@@giannagiavelli5098 Hey Gianna...I know that it's now 3 months later but in case you've not yet attended to the 'silicone upon the seals' task - or anyone else sees this in the future, yes black silicone would be fine upon the rubber weather seals in the targa area - I undertook a 4-year panel-beating apprenticeship at a Honda dealership down here in Australia between late 92-97, so I've worked upon a great deal of Civics & Del Sols (called CRX down here & 'only' available in VTEC model with B16a3 engine - I own a decently upgraded/tastefully modded '95 'Del Sol', btw) but funnily enough, not once did we ever encounter a 'Del Sol' with any leakage issues - perhaps they preferred our climate to that of the US, especially where it gets really cold?! Cheers & best wishes from 'Down Under'...enjoy your summer, while you guys still have it!

tommy gunn I don’t know man, throwing a little boost at any Honda engine goes a LONG way cuz majority of their cars are light! I’m a civic person but agree with you 💯
A Del sol is a civic lol
Can you switch the auto for a manual I found a red one that is a one owner and it has low low low miles but I don’t want a auto transmission
How much would a new motor coast Im looking into a 1993
Random question how come no one thinks to modify the Honda Civic EX 2007? Instead of buying an SI?
just about to pick one up tomorrow . to work a
on for a family member I picked it up on initial purchase. it's going to be interesting and fun. I normally hoon around in a sv6 and a xr6
That trunk is insane, I thought the motor was in the back.
Great review. LOVE THE BURPING
Would a 2.0T fit in this bad boy?
Very good video.
As for the “problems” you listed that are common…. Meh… they aren’t that common.
Only the targa top leak - caused by old rubber deal. Just put some silicone on it along the edge - you can’t even see it - and it won’t ever “leak” again. Btw the “leak” is an occasional drip or two.
The biggest thing with a del sol is chassis flex. You can hear and feel it when pulling into a steep driveway at an angle.
black silicone? I do have some wear in the seals after 25 yrs
@@giannagiavelli5098 My sincere apologies for the previous babbling message!
@@lavielemond I'm down in aus and lloking to get one soon, this is interesting to know! Sounds like we got the best of both worlds, with not many leaks and only the good engines? Because yeah i basically dont see any with the SI or vtex badges or whatever.
4:37 my fav part
My friend had just an LS in one of these and it definitely flew. This car would be absolutely mad if you stuffed a K20 with a Turbo in one of these.
Ooooo they are.
No need the b16 is just as good as any K series ppl just dont realize
S2k evolves into DODGE VIPER
No it doesn’t 😂
The Viper is completely out of balance while the S2000 has perfect 50/50 wheight distribution
My first car, I gonna get a Del Sol. Everyone else, your crazy, gonna die in that car, expensive parts, blablabla...... 21 years later, still alive, no breakdowns, and did everything myself, Keep Rolling Baby... Honda Power of Dreams
I love when you give specs for the car when showing a k20a swapped Del Sol. The numbers are significantly different with that motor.
true😂
I think its a crime to swap a vtec unless its a junker. they are so damn rare.

Ive been trying to find out what that front lip is on the car in the thumbnail. Does anyone know
I had one back in the day it was a really cheap car to maintain an honestly pretty fun I upgraded all the suspension with racing parts an had adjustable coils on it we bored out the motor .40 over grinder the cam an crank an took the rev limiter off never dyno it but it probably was putting 200 +hp to the wheels I also gutted the interior it wasn’t a rocket but it could own stock mustang gt an Camaro ss all day but then I grew up have a career an started building more expensive cars an engines don’t get me wrong Honda is good but it’s a beginners mod car not really meant for the big boy leagues but every now an then you see a k20 destroying most it’s competition but the k20 is really the only engine that can keep up with the big leagues an even then you have to fully build it up with tons of cash to beat some v8s that cost half the price
tommy gunn I don’t know man, throwing a little boost at any Honda engine goes a LONG way cuz majority of their cars are light! There’s plenty of boosted h series, f series, j series out there that’ll for sure walk majority of cars in production😂 I for sure would rather have something newer that’s fast like let’s say an ISF or anything luxurious with a v8 but i know a 5k Honda can for sure whoop that shits ass even with a basic turbo setup because of power to weight.
This is why I got an S13 240sx back in the day. Our base power was 155hp and 160tq. If you wanted a convertible you could get a Varietta. Hondas were so slow to us back then. The K-series engines are a different story though.
240 was 80s vtecs are 94-97 and easy to get < 6 secs 0-60
"Pikachu" lmao bruh you had me dying
So confusing because the vtec version came with b series obviously and the si came with a d16.. which was also vtec..
Sae someone say a del sol is more rigid then the crx, yet it has a removable top? Thats what makes it heavier and it also reduces rigiddity
I had put two friends in the trunk. It was weird to drive with all that wait. Had five included me..🤭
Your thumbnail was why i traded my ek hatch with a del sol🔥🔥
That’s my del sol lol
@@jacobcotriss6264 noice, i have an eh hatch now lol. Do you still have the del sol?
Rick Sanchez I know that's actually you, you're not FOOLING ME!!
You're the only one that said the del sol is
UNDERATED that made me Triggered tho
It is who wants one of those pos shit boxes without knowing its potential
There’s a del sol by me. It’s 5k with 123k miles. Very clean car shell in red. I don’t know how to drive a stick and want to learn. Will this be a good beginner car? Please need some help cause I want to buy
Yep, still a good car, my niece was 15 years old, and I teach her to drive with my DelSol
This car is a smart car without a condom on.
The thumbnail is how my del sol is going to end up looking
If you’re a guru at engine tuning/swapping then Del Sol got the potential to beat majority of the car on the streets!
Yo I love you’re videos
What year is that del sol
The Spanish part make me laugh, it was unexpected I love it, saludos desde México 💖
Vapor Sheep what minute?
Ash actually wanted pikachu to evolve ... pikachu didn't want it lol.
Good video though
Jni Kji fuck you ash im better than that rat 😂😂
Who TF calles
a del Sol a poor man's s2000
Patrick Massengill no one lol... only Del Sol owners trying to justify this shittyass car.
Literally everyone... which is why all tuners s2000 ecu flash and chip it
