that car has the most wastefully ridiculous roof system I've ever seen. I mean how hard is it to remove a targa panel?! Other than that It's really cool though!
The roof is a cool novelty that add something special to the car. Sure it's not optimal, this car is almost as heavy as my gtr ( no a/c, no hicas) with a lot less power but it's still kinda cool and rare af
I have the normal targa and it takes me just as long except I also have to remove the key to open the trunk and do labor. That gets old quickly for me. Super fun to do in the rain too
Matt's promo have been getting better and better. Makes this guy seem like he's into everything. Watches, websites, ball chaffing powder, sunglasses. And to think I came here just to look at awesome cars. lol
Del Sols are wonderful little cars. I've had mine for like 13 years now. Although it's the VTEC model, not the SI that comes with the B16. Also - the 1992 model cars can be imported whole now with the transtop so it's much cheaper to have one.
There's no automated roof that could ever be so cool that it would be worth adding 500 pounds on what is supposed to be a sports car. On a Bentley...sure.
$50,000 for a Del Sol that produces less power than a Civic Type R. I mean the dedication is cool I guess, but damn that dude must really have money burning a hole in his pocket.

A highway car with slicks and stripped interior!? I strongly disagree. Super uncomfortable (noise wise), and not enough traction (you have to really work those slicks for them to stick, which you can't do easily on a highway).
b20vtec setups are bad ass. everyone thinks the stock sleeves are super week and can't hold power but they can. the rest of the b series do have thicker sleeves.but b20s can hold decently on a conservative tune.
Let's face it the CRX del sol was never a super light car to begin with given when it was produced. It's not heavy by today's standards, but still isn't the lightest car on the road. I totally agree with a built B20 though, it's a great motor to start a build on and I'd love to get my hands on a B20 powered del sol, just not a turbo. The rood is stupid and yet I really love it. There's something endearing about this little Honda and the video just makes me smile.
While this isnt a stock example, the del sol has always been the red headed step child of the honda world. Personally, im a sucker for anything with a targa top and a power rear window. Ive owned 2 del sols and while neither were si's, I found them to be sufficiently fun.

Btw those are track ready cars with HEAVY Money invested thousands and thousands of dollars in suspension and suspension tuning not to mention boost by gear and traction control systems to help put the power down. I drive 600whp drag Civic and my car wouldn't hook 2nd gear from a 40mph roll on with 260whp and with Mickey Thompson ET street radials.. it's not as simple as throwing more horsepower at a car to make it go faster around a road course..
Suzuki Swift Club Australia aggressive af clutch lmao 😭💀💀
DOPE ass build! You have to respect the was it is.
13:47 Anyone else thinking Star Wars pod racing scene?
TireSide YES!
"It's working!!! It's working"
I had a tuned Del Sol Si in high school "in the late 90's", I loved it all about till I graduated. Fun revy little car, but I don't miss it.
500 pounds on what WAS a 2500 pound car? Increasing its weight by 20% just for a "neat" apparatus is very odd to me.
Wow I was not expecting that interior, nice work.
that car has the most wastefully ridiculous roof system I've ever seen.
Timed it, it took 35 seconds to come down. Jesus that would get old quickly.
It's still pretty impressive for its time.
It's not original, it was built yesterday for this specific car.
And to think I came here just to look at awesome cars. lol
Is it a watch made specifically for your nuts? Because every man needs a nut watch.
Mr. McGinestein #NutWatchin
Daniel Private funny part is you could pull the top off and put it in the trunk way faster anyway lol
Love targa cars. Del Sol can be a lot of fun if modded right - especially for someone young on tight budget. :)
$50,000 for a Del Sol that produces less power than a Civic Type R. I mean the dedication is cool I guess, but damn that dude must really have money burning a hole in his pocket.
tehDmez He has other cars including a Supra, GT-R, and a GTi... I think he has the money.
More money than brains.
The drive is just different that’s why get these
Best thing to do at work in the morning right here
so no nut powder today??
Good to see you promoting automatic watches!
Del SOls are always squirly. Thats why they are awesome. Lol
The top is the greatest thing I have ever seen
Is the top by any chance gender fluid?
Fzed 600 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fzed 600 triggered
Fzed 600 Did you just assume the tops gender?
No, it's just super gay.
It's a targa top but it identifies as a t-top.
See now this is clean. Exactly how i would want my deal sol to look
260whp?? boostedboiz would be making 600 on that thing.
boostedboiz is only driving in a straight line...
youre talking as if 260whp isnt good for a 2400lbs *track* car
It actually makes 300whp and 260tq. the guy mispoke in the video
Mark Maavich not on a b20 are you fucking insane?
You're late by almost 2 months
this guy has a huge smile because he put so much work on this awesome car. unlike the other videos, car owners are emo because they paid 10x more than this De La soul and this guys having way more fun. Here comes the quote, built not bought.
So it's a showy track car that rubs with 500lbs in the back.
I've got a 93 Civic Si Hatchback with about 300 HP. Has the engine out of a CR-V. A b20. Got the weight down to 1900 lbs. Fun as hell to drive.
i had a del sol back i high school, as much of a POS as it was, it was still really fun :)
I know that guy! It's Brian from Project Import on Katella and Orange! WOOT!
You lost me at the 3000 lbs, including the 500 lb nonsensical power top.
awesome you finally listened!! been waiting for a del sol
VCR on wheels
What a nice car! That Jord was Gorgeous!!! I need one for Sundays best.
This watch is like most watches except tacky and ugly, made of wood doe..
i like it
^ This guy likes it, you think it's tacky, and I don't give a shit about watches, guess everyone has their own opinion...
I like turtles
TH-cam Videos automobiles are everywhere and they're not useless.
TH-cam Videos appreciating a finely made automatic movement isn't much different then enjoying a well built automobile. If you don't agree that's fine however there is no sense in being ignorant about a subject you know little about.
did anyone else notice he gets the most satisfaction when driving tuned Hondas... just watch the other Hondas on this channel ..I'm not being biased even tho i drive a 8th gen
That shitty chinese watch movement made me cringe. So tacky and cheap.
Great guy, cool unique car. I really enjoyed how this guy spoke confidently about his shops strengths and weaknesses (ex. They didn't do the dash...) and he never bullshitted. That's how you build credibility. He Kept the cooling temp discussion in laymans terms. Rub is ignored because track car and it was minimal.
My friend has a Del Sol @700hp. Too bad it's still a fwd, purely a highway car with those slicks and stripped interior.
A highway car with slicks and stripped interior!? I strongly disagree. Super uncomfortable (noise wise), and not enough traction (you have to really work those slicks for them to stick, which you can't do easily on a highway).
Zoran Kristić I think he means highway racing, not point to point driving, thus, sound doesn't really matter.
Zoran Kristić hahaha he means as far as street racing goes, it's purely a highway car as it can only do pulls on the highway
Jacob Guiler highway pulls are by far the most ignorant pointless thing you can do in a car.
Petrol_Head highway pulls are fun af
I LOVE the Del Sol. So pumped to watch this.
Such a well built honda made for the track! Definitely the direction that I want to build my EK Civic!
b20vtec setups are bad ass. everyone thinks the stock sleeves are super week and can't hold power but they can. the rest of the b series do have thicker sleeves.but b20s can hold decently on a conservative tune.
Saw a 6th gen ZL1 on the side of the road I am officially excited for that one take
Let's face it the CRX del sol was never a super light car to begin with given when it was produced.
Didn't even want to watch this, but so glad I did. Surprise review of 2017.. Well the insight review might be right there too.
absolutely beautiful car. comment section flooded with haters
finally a car that I care about.
holy crap a honda guy that knows wat he talks about
awesome build! now I want to go and drive around in mine :)
I've wanted to see one of these get reviewed for so long
Amazing little Del Sol!
one of the few del slows I'd actually been seen in
That Targa top is sick!👏👏👏👏👀😱😨👍
I just LOVE the track use sub installed between seats.
I clicked on your video for the car and left with a newly instilled fascination with watches.
While this isnt a stock example, the del sol has always been the red headed step child of the honda world. Personally, im a sucker for anything with a targa top and a power rear window.
Ive owned 2 del sols and while neither were si's, I found them to be sufficiently fun.
