Hey Warren everything your saying is true foundation is key, I couldn’t have moved forward if I wasn’t able to play in all 12 keys fluently and I had to dedicate a whole year to it through your videos and hours of practice , also now with this video I can comfortably rank myself above intermediate almost advanced player solely because of your motivating and informative videos 🇯🇲👍Keep up the good work

I so appreciate your truth. Its my issue with song-specific tutorials. Students "learn" a single song and have no idea the theory behind it, so they can't play anything else.
I push my student's forward to a new song every lesson and tell them, once they memorize a song, they're not learning to play, they're learning to memorize, which at some point can lead to un-learning, a huge issue with strictly classical students.
Anyhow. Glad someone is saying it!

Thanks for your advice! Now, I know I want to review all of those arpeggios, scales, chords and progressions in every key. I have them in my head, but I need to practice them. Our hearts and minds should become one with the music we play. What you said about speed is so important. What's the point of learning something fast if we can't understand it and feel every note? Once something becomes part of our heart and soul, we become the music. I remember a piano teacher telling me once that I was memorizing mistakes, so your pointing that out reminded me of that advice. No one can be advanced without having a rock-solid foundation. I understand a lot of the theory and can play a lot of pieces, but I still need to work on that foundation and also work some things out in my head. Practicing for fluency of expression is key. I agree with you that the process is more important than the destination.

I wish I knew this 20ys ago. I'm a self taught and picked up really bad habits: The transpose button. I could play prety much anything but with one key adjusted with the transpose button., i only realised that this was a serious limitation when the grand piano was what I needed to play. For a song I knew but it was in a key I'm not familiar with. I was so frustrated how difficult it was . . . But recently [3years ago, I started forcing my self to learn how to play with all keys.] Today,. I can say., I can see the improvement, im still not fully fluent with some few keys, especially F and G, i confuse these alot, but with your vedios, .. . I've got a hang of it., thank you for the good work you doing
    ,its really appreciated

Hey Warren i have a question, its really been a big weight on my mind. I don't know, keyboard is kinda broad and there's a lot to learn but, the problem is how to stack up my learning. I don't know which is to come first. I don't know, can you give me like a map up ? I personally can play on all 12 keys and am really looking out on what next 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah, it’s kinda impossible to figure that out on you own with out a teacher. I do have a fully resigned program that does all you’re asking for. Check out the practice path here; th-cam.com/video/jVRRtgP2HU8/w-d-xo.html

Hey, do you play another instrument apart from piano ? did you apply the same principles you talked about here ? are they applicaple to something like violin ? i mean even the exercises ?

Unfortunately I only play the piano, but yes, a lot of the knowledge is transferable to other instruments
