I love my cliff hanger bases. I built right in between a clan war and nobody gave two shits because I was out of the line of sight. It was hilarious because whenever I would cut down a tree, both clans would come out and fight!

I do like the sneaky builds, hiding your base well can be better than all the honeycombing and doors in the world. Only issue with it imo is that in being secluded if someone does notice or find it then they have a pretty worry free raid and it can be more enticing to raid.

I've been raided fast in the middle of nowhere because my base is the only target available there, and I've gone wipes unraided in high action areas because the other bases seemed more desirable raid targets or the risk of getting countered is too high. On the other hand, if you are a trouble maker and a group wants to raid you for that, they will no matter what you build. That's where a location like this comes into play.
@@CODA96 There's two issues I have with cave bases. The first being that people just use the exploit to get down the bucket drop without dying and then raid you. Second is that if someone wants to raid you they can set a turret up at the entrance to the cave and lock you down inside there.

Im sick of getting offlined by lifeless 12yr old kid clans, so when i play Rust, i build in a cave. Most people don't even check caves, so its pretty secure. But what really is secure in a game that allows everyone to raid your base at anytime? Sadly nothing is safe, but thats just the toxic nature of this game. Not playing to not get raided is still the best defense in Rust ;)

True if any, most smaller bases are the richest because they dont use 90% of their resources to build a zerg base. Zerg bases usually are poor unless they're good pvpers. Other than that I only ever raid zergs if they're toxic or if I know they're rich.

If you join a zerg definitly make sure they don't suck, and have no history of fortnite.

Honestly when I'm ready to raid I take a trip around the island looking for bases just like this one. I turn profit most times 3:1 and the profit is normally insane.
If you never get offlined you must play on dead servers lmaaao The type of base you build is exactly the type of base most people look for when raiding
The way I do it is I make a base that looks like a strong shop base and then sell bones, human meat, etc... in the vending machine to make me look poor. When I do that on vanilla everyone around me gets raided but I never do.

i remember i raided a week ago base on clifs with using 16 beancans i have taken from inside 16 k Sulfur 10 k gunpowder L96 with 8x , spas Lr armored double doors it was crazy
When I play solo my go to is a 2x1 or 2x2 depending on how successful I get in terms of loot and stuff. When I play with my friend I always go 2x2 and expand it to a wooden compound with a large furnace and second story 2x2. Never been raided doing that.
I use to do this all the time in modded but i would build a base with no doors or windows, i would also build another small 1×2 that i would use to use get in and teleport to my main base.
This game is only good for the people who can play everyday. Or have a clan they can play in shifts with otherwise its too difficult and srressful.the no lifers that are on this 24/7 are the people who discourage the new players from continuing to play.ive been playing since it came out on console and ive noticed so many people stop playing because of this.ive seen servers with 70-80 people now only 15-30
On PC there are some decent noob friendly servers which have varying rules to match your play style. For example, 50% more nodes, so it's easier to build a strong base resistant to off-lining. No raiding in first 7 days of wipe etc. There are softcore servers which give 50% loot back when you die and allow you to spawn in bandit or outpost. Often on these servers you can establish a relationship with the regulars. So if you kill some poor guy who turns out to have some primitive gear, you could just take what you need, tell him you've left loot, then chances are they'll be greatful and return the favour in future.

ive raided some juicy cliff bases before, also so utterly shit ones. If i'm traveling by boat and see something I'll usually only go back if it's an iceberg base so this strat would probably hold up fairly well. Only bad part about being away from everyone is that no one will come to counter if they are being loud.
if i can add something quickly. If they have /remove i make a heli base and hide loot bottom and 2nd floor where you have to /remove to access and then have shooting floors on 4th and 5th floors. And also i always get skeptical building right next to ocean incase someone sees your base while making a journey in a boat
better way to not get raided, Go to snow area, live in a cave... people hate the snow biome, and they hate caves more. i haven't been raided in half a year... THOUGH, if the caves are taken, then this is a good option too :)
what server do you play on? snow is node rich and most the big zerg bases n sulfer addicts live in the snow biome on the server I like to play on. and caves are the most contested building areas. If I wanna get filthy rich quick cause cave bases are hoarders usually. Cave Bases are best bases.There is no such thing as an invincible base but cave bases come pretty close to invincible since in order to raid a base,you must first see it and reach it.

What I do as a solo player is make a lot of 1x1s with most being empty while one has all my loot in it. I have gotten fail raided by clans multiple times just because they blow into a few and get mad they wasted their sulfur and give up.
.....I would so put a bunch of turrets under the overhang incase they did see it and try to climb to the roof.....and some more on the rocks outside.....could be a good trap base maybe if it werent so secluded

My vanila experience for this wipe - Built a bunker base in the middle of the map : got offline raided in 1 day. Built a full grand frustrator in the snow : got offline raided by a clan in 2 days. Built a hidden cliff base: got raided in 3 days . I quit this wipe
You're rolling the dice because if they see you you're screwed. I have learned that it's cave base or bust. No one likes to live in them or raid them so you're pretty much invisible. I was once in the middle of three giant clans and outlasted all of them. They were each within 1 square of me and the super cave is OP. However the guardian of the cave requires blood and sometimes randomly kills you. He's your enemy and your friend.

Twitch is the way to go. If you grind it consistently the subs will come. To earn subs people want to see an at least somewhat consistent schedule. Grind twitch and your patreon will grow at the same time. Use YY and patreon to supplement your twitch income.
X_X you really dunno? its a little base by the water, or in the water, with a 2x1 using a garage door to pull the little boat into. which keeps ur boat from despawning, and gives you ur own private boat. or if your kinda weathly, and have the stonegate researched, you can build a bigger 4x4 or 5x5 and use the stone gate high external as the doorway into it from the water, and you can park 1 or 2 of the bigger boats inside it.
i like the game its addicting as fuck but it is not rewarding to build large bases. like ive had 2 pretty big bases with high externals and honeycomb wiped and the reason for it is latters. i think thats my main and really only complaint with rust is that you can just throw up latters even in a tc area and climb right into a base. that almost completely defeats the purpose of what the tc does. its pretty stupid because you can just climb through the wall and to the roof of the base which is the easiest part of the base to get through to the core.
I remember one base I built was a med to large size base that was raided and all the outer walls were destroyed doors off etc...looked like a warzone, but the inner 2 or 3 rooms i sealed back up and lived in. nobody raided it because it looked raided already.

We raided a 2x2 and it had 20k gp with 200 explosives + ak+hq gears+bolti + signals+turrets and 1k hq [official server]
I dont know what types of servers you play but most zergs on officials do profit raids on bases like this

I always build along the cliffs when I need to farm I go up the cliff then climb down to drop my nodes off and same with boat runs

You can have weekly, biweekly, monthly,.. wipes. Fe weekly wipes get 'reset' everyweek. With rust it's the experience that counts

How I don't get offline raided as a solo, build and stick to the edge of the map. Lol literally what I'm doing this current wipe.

i raid those types of bases all the time, usally stacked, easy foundation wipe and easy to spot on boat run around map... they get raided.
