- If you were around in the early to mid 2000s, you know "that EQ trick." You know, the one that practically every nu-metal band did where the beginning sounded boxy then opened up as the intro progressed?
Today, we'll learn how to recreate that effect using Automation Items. While the effect in and of itself is not that "game changing," some of the techniques and usability tips you'll pick regarding practical application of automation items to control FX parameters over time are worth their weight in coffee!

Myk, thanks so much for what you do, cause the content of every reaper tutorial is not equal.

Michael Myers mask is gonna give me nightmares ngl
It has scared me a few times coming in from the garage late at night 😂
What's the theme you're using? I love the look of it and I'd love to try it.
Thanks! It's a variation of the R6 default theme. White Tie never quite finished it, but i quite like it. Here's a link

First song this effect reminded me of was: Pareidolia - Elena Siegman
Wait what if you only wanted the effect on 4 out of 8 tracks for example, instead of having to do it individually on each of the 4? Please I need to know !!! Like can you do all 4 at the same time or something to group them together?
you can route the desired tracks to a bus or folder to have the effect on only those tracks.
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper how do you do that though? I’m not sure how to put tracks in a folder and then have that effect on all of them for the exact same time stamp and duration of time that the effect happens
this one might be easier discussed over Discord, if you're able. That way we can share screenshots and such
