That is why you run a metal detector.
The blue stain on the end of the log tells you there is steel in the log. The metal detector only tells you when you will hit it, not how to miss it.

I always change blades after hitting metal. Otherwise your sawing speed is cut in half and you get horrible cuts.
Normally, we would, but we had suspicion we would hit more, and we did.
