You guys seem to live in town. I grew up at the countryside and we were taught that wood stacks are no toy. I know about two kids who died in the saw mill next to our home, because they played on the wood and the whole tower fell onto them. I am sure they had a good time, just until they got injured.

Pretty sharp setup ! It also goes to show most people that kids these days dont need all the high tech gadgets everyone thinks they need instead give them a pile of offcut lumber scraps and they will figure out how to have fun I’m a retired Woodworker and my son used to like to watch. Me doing. All my projects i. Used to make a pile for Jim to do whatever he desired it cost me a few handfulls of nails and. A couple of glue bottles and he would build any thing from a airplane to a car that he proudly displayed in his room or gave away as presents he is now 27 years old and has grown up to be quite handy in a workshop or around a home when he was a teenager. He bought his first boat and was capable. Of performing all of the maintenance himself plus to earn himself. A Place to dock it in my marina he worked part time for the Marinas owner on the weekends doing odd jobs around the docks for the aging owner Because of my background in woodworking ive always had a interest in Sawmills And logging in general

I am confident that non parents will be concerned with your child's safety while playing on your slab pile, but as the father of 4 boys I can say that I am more concerned with a child tearing up the wood pile knowing that it would be me restacking while my kids moved on to another demolition job.
It's all in good fun and an important part of growing up.

As someone who has seen children become life long epileptics from falling off a 3 foot balcony onto grass i can promise you this is not safe. Ask anyone whos ever worked in an ER and you'll find that traumatic brain injuries are the most common self inflicted deadly injury in children. Alot of people don't survive brain surgery so don't do anything to try and get a subdural hematoma. Keep the kids under super vision, i say this as a child who was free to run around a ranch and climb trees, there were so many opportunities for me to have killed myself it's not even funny. It's quite frankly a miracle i'm alive.

    Hi from Oamaru N.Z.
Go to a dirtbike shop and buy a hour meter activated by vibration this will help u change oil at every 100 hrs.
Make sure you drain water and sediment from carbie float bowl too.
Buy or mount a 20 liter water container up top ( go to a car or truck dealership workshop and ask for a translucent antifreeze, washer detergent container). All this will improve things a lot.

This land,The sawmill does work pretty good. Do you have a building project in mind for the lumber you will be producing? I'd suggest putting a roof over the mill to protect it from the elements. BTW, Safety glasses would be a good investment for you. I have some experience with operating a saw mill. Even though you're not getting any sawdust or chips in your eyes while demonstrating your sawmill, you will eventually. Sawing lumber on windy days seems to blow sawdust right at your eyes. Being partially blinded from having sawdust blown into your eyes at a crucial moment can lead to a worse injury than having sawdust in your eyes.

is there anything out there to buy like a cant to hold the wood down on the last few cuts. It seems to bow and cut off when it gets thinner. that's only thing I see wrong with this mill. we just cannot get get the last few cuts to measure rt. it cuts off in middle or the ends 3/16ths or more. anyone else having this problem. that's lot waste for sure.
