Just picked this up Monday! I have studied from it every night since and I LOVE IT! Took me like 50+ of your videos to finally find the one Bible that will be my daily driver and this one is it! After waiting years to pick up my goatskin Bible, I am sure glad that I had this channel to help me through my decision. This one plus my many study bibles will feed me with God's Word for years to come and hopefully be used to feed others as well. God bless man!
I have this exact Bible. It is totally awesome. The brown leather goatskin is so beautiful and it feels so good in the hand. This has become my g0-to-Bible for quite some time. And being a pastor for over 30 years and owning probably a hundred Bibles, this one is my very favorite and has been for quite some time. Everything about this Bible is classy. :)
Thanks for the review. I have several very nice bibles of many formats. I always said I prefer red letter, until a pickup my first black letter without checking. To my surprise, I like black letter more than red. I also found single column more pleasing. The margin space looks good too. I hope this will be my first premier level bible in one of my favorite translations.
I love this bible...Its just right! compact, well design, 10.5 font (whaaat) readable, I wish there was KJV, like I mentioned...its just right! highly recommend
Tim, have you seen the Thomas Nelson NKJV Prayer Bible? It is not a premier but they do have a genuine leather edition. I would like to see a review on that.
I can't decide between this one and the Cambridge Clarion. I'm not into Bibles, but I'm feeling that I want one premium version just to read/keep long term. NKJV is my favorite translation. This one has a lot going for it: I like the font size, the text clarity, the red and black contrast print and the 36gsm paper. It just looks like it's going to be heavy. The Clarion looks more manageable...even though they don't seem that far apart in size. The trade-off being 28gsm paper and smaller font on the Clarion. Thank you for these videos, though...they really show the attributes of each offering.
This is definitely a thick Bible, but I still really enjoy. Another thing to consider is the fact that this Clarion is single column and this one is double.
I like this review, I have the NASB Macarthur study bible 2nd edition in this exact brown Goatskin and same brown red and blue satin ribbons reason I wouldn't want to get this one is because it would feel like having the same bible one next to the other so I rather get the black goatskin version

Hi Tim, is there a red letter version of Jesus' words at all, also with the same 10.5 font size? I would truly appreciate a link to one as that's the only thing missing for me in this Bible.
Tim, thanks for your always outstanding reviews!! I have the Premier NRSVue, which has a very soft and supple cover. My copy of the NKJV reviewed here has a cover that is rather stiff and slick. I know one comes from Zondervan and one from Nelson. Do you know whether my NKJV cover is typical, or did I just get a stiff and slick one?
Tim are you sure about those measurements? All the ones I have found are 6.75 x 2 x 9.75 inches. You must be referring to the actual page trim? Not the overall cover size.
Hey Tim! Question for you - I'm wanting to customize this bible for my mom. Is the text block the same between the premier collection of this compared to the bonded leather option? I'd love to not pay so much for the premier leather if the paper and everything inside is exactly the same.
I bought the Nelson KJV end-of-verse reference single column red goatskin bible and just started reading (my first time reading the bible) and I noticed in Genesis 1:27 it says "... God created he him; male and female created he them." And my question is has the bible (specifically KJV) always been written like this with the pronouns or is this a new thing in modern made bibles? My bible says 2022 Copyright, not sure if that can be helpful to my question.
This would be a perfect bible for me if when Jesus speaks it was in red colour. Ordered the black one instead which has that. This gorgeous brown is a deal breaker on that point alone sadly.
The one thing that matters the most barely any reviewers ever harp on, how stiff and sturdy is the book block. I know we live in a day and age of amazing quality and availability of bibles but the thing that matters the most is often left out 😒 entirely. It seems some Alan’s and THomas Nelson’s are just so loose I hear about pages falling out.
I brought the NKJV Single Column in the Goatskin Brown and I swear amazon sold me a fake, it looks the same inside and the paper is correct but the cover seems like a dud (a fake). Its not supple or thick like everyone else's. It's thin, flat, stiff & shiney like pigskin. The cover feels plasticy. Theres little to no grain and the paint is shiney and rubbery. Even the paint on the cover is coming off as soon as I opened the box and it smells like chemicals and not leather. Even the pain is the wrong colour brown. I gently rub my finger nail on paint and it cracks and comes off so easily i can literally see the leather underneath. At this point I'm questioning if its even reaal leather. Also the price on the box says $209.99 when the price on everyone elses says $189.99. I have a NKJV end of verse premium Goatskin brown by Thomas Nelson and it is nothing like this trash cover I've recieved on the single column one. Do you thi k i got sold a fake?

Hmmm… this one is a little stiffer than the newest ones from Nelson.

Does anyone know of a comparison of this Nelson NKJV to Humble Lamb's NKJV?
Humble lamb uses lighter gsm paper so for me bleed through is an issue. Their yellow Bible does look pretty cool however.
The font on the Humble Lamb is too small for me. It’s 9-point. Also, to me, the HL paper feels a bit rougher.
Is this as heavy as the macArthur study Bible second edition brown goatskin Or less?
I don’t have that one, but I would guess it’s heavier.

Yeah that sounds fake. I'd just return it and order from elsewhere if you have to. Was it sold by Amazon itself or a marketplace through them?
